HILARY SWANK: TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR YOUR OWN ACTIONS!

This Hilary Swank scandal is leaving a bad taste in our mouths for many reasons. As you know, she is under fire for accepting a bundle of money to participate in the birthday celebration of bloodthirsty tyrant Ramzan Kadyrov, the President of Chechnya. Granted, resisting the generous hospitality of Russian billionaires is not easy, but this guy is rotten to the core. Keep in mind, Seal and Jean Claude Van Damme enjoyed the same circumstances as Hilary and THEY should be every bit as ashamed. If Hilary HAD researched Kadyrov, as she claimed, she would know that kidnapping, torture, and murder are his specialties, and that includes killing female journalists who write about him. Kadyrov is a Muslim with contempt for women, who believes that “women are the property of their husbands” and he approves of “honor killings.” What’s more, he forces the women of his country to wear SCARVES. That makes Hilary’s support of Kadyrov a crime against women’s rights. What’s most disappointing is the fact that Hilary parted with her management team rather than take responsibility for her own actions.

HAPPY TRAILS TO ROY ROGERS, KING OF THE COWBOYS

We’ve had a crush on Roy Rogers since childhood and thought we’d pay tribute to the cowboy star, who would have been 100 years old on November 5. Before his career peaked in western movies, Roy cleverly had it written into his contract that he owned the rights to his likeness, voice, and name for merchandising. He did it all before the Kardashians. Roy Rogers games, action figures, lunch boxes, books, comics, clothing etc. flooded the market and kids lapped it up. Rogers was second only to Walt Disney in the amount of items featuring his name, so he was an early marketing genius. We always thought he was the best dressed cowboy and envied all those gorgeous elaborately fringed shirts…

SARAH JESSICA PARKER’S TWINS ARE DADDY’S LITTLE GIRLS

Sarah Jessica Parker celebrated turning 46 by taking her 21 month old twin girls for a walk. We love this photo because it appears to us that little Tabitha and Marion are starting to resemble their daddy, Matthew Broderick, more every day. Sarah is finishing up her movie “I Don’t know How She Does It” close to home in New York.

“PRINCE” FREDERICK SHOULD BE ASHAMED OF TAKING ADVANTAGE OF ZSA ZSA

Shame, shame, shame on Zsa Zsa Gabor’s so called “Prince” for setting up this photo op and selling the pictures (with himself prominently featured, of course) ! We’re all happy that she was able to celebrate her 94th birthday, although “Prince” Frederick saw to it that her own daughter Francesca was not invited to participate. Anyone familiar with Zsa Zsa, knows that she would NEVER have willingly posed for a photo without having her hair and makeup done! Apparently she is too out of it to protest, and her greedy husband propped her up and took advantage. This isn’t the first time he’s had her photographed for profit when she’s too ill to object. It’s disrespectful and we understand why Francesca loathes the “prince” whom SHE prefers to call the “queen.”

RONALD REAGAN: OUR ALLTIME FAVORITE PRESIDENT

We cannot allow the 100th birthday of the late great President Ronald Reagan pass without note. He’s pictured here with Nancy at their ranch in Santa Barbara. Ronald Reagan was an accomplished governor and a brilliant president. We never doubted that he was a man of good character and decency. A rare find in politics. He even loved his wife. We interviewed his rebellious daughter Patti once and she admitted she never appreciated her father until long after he was out of office.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY ELVIS!

January 8 is Elvis’s birthday and it’s always nice to take a minute to think about him. We found this early photo of him looking particularly sultry with actress Dolores Hart. She played a sweet young thing in “Loving You” and “King Creole” and went on to star in “Where the Boys Are.” At the age of 25 she left Hollywood and went to a convent and became a nun. (Do you suppose she was thinking “If I can’t have Elvis, I’m going to become a nun?)

MILEY CYRUS GOT A HICKEY FOR HER BIRTHDAY, AMONG OTHER THINGS

We’re betting Miley Cyrus injested more than birthday cake and Diet Coke at her 18th birthday celebration at Trousdale. Her underage pals were not supposed to be drinking but sometimes they find a way to get around the law. Miley spent much of the evening smooching with her new plaything, Nickelodeon star Avan Jogia, who is also 18. He’s age appropriate and very cute. It’s a given that Miley woke up with hickeys on her neck – thus proving she had a good time.

MEL GIBSON HAS A FAMILY REUNION FOR SON CHRISTIAN’S BIRTHDAY

Both Mel Gibson and his estranged wife Robyn showed up at Premiere nightclub to celebrate the 24th birthday of his son Christian. Christian had an unidentified blonde date and how many of his five brothers and sister were all in attendance is not known. One thing for sure – being Mel Gibson’s son is not what it used to be.

FRENCH ACTOR ALAIN DELON IS NOW 75

We haven’t thought about Alain Delon for decades, but we were reminded by The Huffington Post that Delon celebrated his 75th birthday on November 8. During the 60’s and 70’s Delon was the French version of Johnny Depp. Not only was he drop dead gorgeous, but he had great European style. Envious men everywhere used to insist he was gay, but his many affairs and marriages and children cast doubt on that notion. We do recall seeing him sitting in a cafe at the height of his fame and we were stunned by his extravagant beauty.

WE’LL NEVER FORGET THE INCREDIBLE ROY ORBISON

April 23 marks the birthday of one of our idols, Roy Orbison, who would be 74 if he were alive today. Roy ruled the rockabilly 60’s with his hits “Crying”, “Only the Lonely,” “Oh, Pretty Woman” etc. Elvis described Roy as “The greatest singer in the world.” Bob Dylan said Roy “was an opera singer but didn’t know it.” We were lucky to see Roy when his career was on the downside, in a funky intimate club in Peoria, Illinois. He barely spoke or moved when he sang, but his touching voice brought tears to your eyes. In the 80’s David Lynch’s movie “ Blue Velvet” prominently featured Roy’s astonishing song “In Dreams” and resurrected his career. He died of a heart attack in 1988 at the too-young age of 52.
