WHAT DO YOU THINK OF WHEN YOU SEE JOHN TRAVOLTA DANCING ON THE BEACH IN RIO?

If John Travolta were to film a TV commercial here in the US, just the sight of him onscreen would immediately bring 2 things to the viewers’ minds (and neither of them is the product he’d be selling.) The two things are, of course, Scientology and masseurs. John’s face would no doubt spark heated conversations about his sexuality and his religion and the advertised item would be long forgotten. Apparently Brazil has no problem with John’s baggage and he frolicked on the beach to promote some liquor there.

JOHN TRAVOLTA TRIED TO ARRANGE A CAREER COMEBACK FOR KELLY PRESTON

John Travolta has been trying to make it up to his wife Kelly Preston after she was embarrassed by all those masseur sex charges against him last summer. She’s been upset about her lagging career, so John found a Scientologist who would write a pilot for her to star in. A lot of money was spent to put together “Keep Calm and Karey On,” and half the people involved in filming the pilot were Scientologists. The OTHER half – non-scientologists- were reportedly uncomfortable on the set and felt the pressure and influence of Scientology.- especially when John paid a surprise visit. After all that, ABC didn’t pick up the show, so now John is back in the doghouse with Kelly.

JUSTIN BIEBER WANTS TO BE A MOVIE STAR LIKE JOHN TRAVOLTA

We’ve been thinking about that rumor that Justin Bieber is interested in doing a remake of Saturday Night Fever. He’s been itching to break into movies and knows what that film did for John Travolta’s career. But we have a feeling that Justin isn’t interested in revisiting the seventies with polyester suits and Bee Gees disco music. He MIGHT make a fool of himself attempting that. It makes more sense to do an updated version with his own music and his character will probably have a posse of young rappers instead of Brooklyn Italians. We’re pretty sure the young rappers will closely resemble those moochers who live in Justin’s house and crack up his cars in real life. Just wait and see…

JOHN TRAVOLTA CAN’T ESCAPE HIS OWN PREDILECTIONS

John Travolta and his lawyers are in a snit because those pesky sex assault charges against John just keep coming. Travolta sent his lawyer after Gawker when they revealed that they’d acquired a report of insurance claims made against John’s production company and it indicated that close to $85,000 was paid out to two of a total of SIX sex assault claims made against the actor last year. According to Gawker, four parties made claims against the production company that we never heard about – including his longtime stunt double, a former driver, and a physical therapist. These activities cannot be covered up forever.

The ladies on The View did NOT drag our beloved Lily Tomlin out of the closet today – she outed herself in 2001. Barbara Walters discreetly pointed out that Lily has been with her ”partner” for an astonishing 42 years. (It’s especially amazing since Lily’s girlfriend and writing partner Jane Wagner was responsible for writing and directing the most humiliating movie in the history of Lily Tomlin and John Travolta in 1978. They played LOVERS and “Moment by Moment” was such an embarrassing stinker and flop that it has never been released for home video so you may never get to see the camp classic.) John Travolta’s gay sex scandal might NOT be the only reason for the collapse of the much heralded “Gotti: In The Shadow Of My Father” movie. Last year the proposed movie got a lot of publicity when Lindsay Lohan was chosen to play Victoria Gotti. Lindsay ‘s behavioral problems led to her being replaced by Kelly Preston. Strangely, John Travolta, his wife and daughter Ella ALL had parts in the troubled movie. Directors and actors came and went, but when producers were revealed to be two wiseguys who served time in prison, things really fell apart. After the Travolta scandal hit the papers, an associate of the Gotti family doubted that Gotti Jr would want John to play his father, but John Jr insisted that was NOT true. Having gangsters as producers IS probably a bad idea, however. (We love any excuse to post a photo of Victoria Gotti’s three sons – above.)

But in the past few months she has gained an alarming amount of weight and she’s not the happy little girl she used to be. Although the movie “The Master” was heavily played DOWN as a take-off on Scientology before its release, it turns out to be quite a criticism of the cult. A few years back, Hollywood was afraid to even use the WORD Scientology in a joking way. Lawsuits were a huge threat. Jokes on sitcoms were deleted to avoid litigation. But Scientology seems to be spectacularly losing its power in the wake of the Travolta sex scandal and Tom Cruise divorce. Journalists are freely writing critical essays on the subject (Vanity Fair, for instance) and drop-outs from the cult are telling all. Paul Thomas Anderson’s movie “The Master “ is a breakthrough because the main character based on L Ron Hubbard is a 50’s science fiction writer and a con-man, and its excellent reviews indicate that it will be seen by many people. Scientologists are complaining, but no one cares. This movie couldn’t have been made fifteen years ago when Scientology bullied Hollywood and magazine writers and we know this from personal experience.
