We always suspected that Jennifer Garner was a real, down to earth person and she proved it at a Clippers game. Jen treated herself and her kids and kids friends to pizza during the game. She got caught taking a big bite with considerable enthusiasm and gusto – this is something you will probably never see Gwyneth Paltrow doing. We always thought Ben Affleck got lucky when he married Jennifer.

We can practically read Ben Affleck’s mind as he was walking out of the Chateau Marmont after the SAG awards with his wife Jennifer Garner. He couldn’t WAIT to light up a smoke and take a huge puff, but was not happy to walk into a nest of paparazzi. He knows Jennifer dislikes his nasty habit – he was a chain-smoker for 20 years and quit a few years back. But he started again when he filmed Argo. When he saw he was being photographed above, he ditched the cigarette and also became a litterer!

You most often see Ben Affleck and his wife Jennifer Garner out somewhere entertaining their three kids. But they do take a little time to work on their eight year old marriage. They went out for coffee alone together this weekend before Ben took off for Disneyland with Violet, 8, and Serephina, 4. Jennifer stayed home with 18 month old Samuel. Above, they look like really happy parents. But sometimes we do wonder if he has a man-cave at their house where he occasionally stays up all night gambling online.

We still think Ben and Jennifer Garner must be among the best and most hands-on parents in Hollywood. No nannies in sight. Gwen Stefani and Gavin Rossdale are up there too.

Last February we wrote about the Cavalia Odysseo show we saw in Burbank that featured 67 gorgeous horses, beautifully trained. It so happens that Jennifer Garner and Ben Affleck’s little girls Violet and Seraphina are crazy about horses so Jen and Ben took them to see the show. They loved it enough to stop a visit with the stars of the production – the horses – in their stables afterward.

We love a dad who’s not TOO successful and important to take his two little girls (Violet and Seraphina) to the farmer’s market. You don’t see them very often. Ben Affleck may be a major Hollywood player but he makes time to buy fruit and vegetables for the family – and he doesn’t forget to bring flowers home to mom Jennifer Garner.
Jennifer Garner and Ben Affleck took their daughters Violet, 6, and Serephina, 3, to learn how to decorate cakes and cupcakes. Duff’s Cakemix on Melrose Avenue provides yummy cakes and lessons on how to decorate for kids. While they decorate they can nibble on various cake samples. It sounds like a lot more fun than the stuff we used to make in an Easy Bake Oven.
Like Gwen Stefani, we think Jennifer Garner must be a great mom to have. She spends a lot of time with her kids and keeps them entertained. Jennifer, 40, gave birth to her first son, little Samuel, six months ago and he’s just as good looking as her two daughters Violet, 6, and Seraphina, 3. We always thought Ben Affleck was smart to choose Jennifer Garner as a wife instead of Jennifer Lopez. Garner is currently promoting her movie “Odd Life of Timothy Green” which is family-friendly and really sweet.

We’re glad Ben realizes how lucky he is to have Jennifer.
