NIKE THINKS MICHAEL VICK’S CRIMES ARE NO BIG DEAL- THEY HIRED HIM AGAIN

What’s WRONG with these Nike people? The company just resigned animal torturer Michael Vick as their spokesperson. He’ll design a line of shoes for them and earn millions of dollars. Back in 2007, Nike dumped Vick after he was convicted of participating in a dogfighting ring and animal cruelty. Now the Nike rep says “Michael acknowledges his past mistakes?” Is THAT all it takes? What Nike may not know is that SOME CRIMES ARE UNFORGIVABLE. Should child molesters, rapists, wife beaters, etc, be given a pass if they “acknowledge” their crimes? Has Nike seen photos of the dogs he destroyed? We consumers who love our pets never want to see Michael Vick’s face again. We can live with Tiger Woods’ bad behavior, but Michael Vick just oozes evil. Nike will never look the same to us.

  1. this sadist should have 1/2 of the painful terrifying crap he inflicted upon these beautiful animals for FUN done to HIM.
for as long as he did it to them……
    shame on nike

  2. janet stfu really stop being such a hater. he has redeemed himself, why dont you mention all the animal charities he now works with. and if nike wants to pay him so what, the dogs arent wearing nikes. FU

  3. Unfortunately, dog fighting, cock fighting, bull fighting, horse racing… are socially acceptable in certain cultures. While we may think they are abhorrent, others could care less about the plight of animals when so many humans are suffering.

At the end of the day, Michael Vick actually did time. He also lost his home and most of his possessions and is crawling back into society. That to me is a good message for convicted criminals. Yes it’s horrible what you did, but you can bounce back. I won’t attack Michael, only because he is still being punished and is still paying for his crimes, unlike *ssholes like Chris Brown, who keep getting passes for their horrible post-crime behavior.

    I’m fine with this one.

  4. Vick was stupid, not EVIL. Janet, you’ve got a lot of nerve. Get off his back…

  5. Nike exploits children labor laws and runs sweat shops. You think dog fighting upsets them?

  6. I’m shocked at most of you. PBL I’m with you, being a lifelong animal rescuer and lover I abhor this freak M.Vick and like you, I think the only adequate punishment is for him to have a bunch of these dogs tear the shit out of HIM so he can FEEL what the animals felt when he put them in a pit head to head in a death match.

I CERTAINLY don’t think ANY company should be endorsing this murdering asshole. I hope he cn’t find ANY work and winds up in the streets begging for pennies after what he did. He has NO EMPATHY for the pain and suffering he put on these animals, and burying them alive too according to his conviction.

    BOYCOTT NIKE!!!

  7. As a retired Canine Behaviorist, I am inclined to agree. Are you telling me Nike couldn’t find another spokesperson in the entire world of sports?!

  8. F Nike. Micheal Vick did not do enough time nor did he «make a mistake»… He delighted in torturing dogs for years. Hung them from trees by the neck, beat and electrocuted them etc… And yet because he claims he is «sorry» BET and Nike want to.reward him for deliberate decisions he made?! With all the other DECENT and role models out there it is DISGUSTING that these companies choose to glorify a sadist and a thug to run their campaigns. When Michael Vick has served 25 + years repenting for the suffering he caused maybe ill believe his heart has changed. As far as I am concerned any money he earns should go to the groups that break and shut down dog fighting. I WILL NEVER EVER BUY A NIKE PRODUCT AGAIN.

  9. F UCK NIKE. They obviously will sell out to make a buck. Janet you are right no one wants to see Vick or OJ. I wish they would just go away. Vick is treated like a victim when all along he tortured innocent beings.

  10. Frank Vick was not stupid – he was EVIL. Janet got it right.

  11. Shame on Nike. Some crimes are not forgiven. Vick you are a sick evil monster. We will remember what you did ahole.

  12. Janet I am with you. And the people who think Michael Vick has redeemed himself really need to look up the definition of compassion. This man has none. This man did evil things to helpless creatures for money. Shame on him and shame on Nike. And shame on you who defend him. I am glad Karma and the afterlife will take care of him.

  13. Good freaking grief get a grip Janet every other twisted poster. Look objectively at the crime committed & the what society says legally are the reprecussions. Not your unrelenting & unrealistic lust for blood.

He didn’t kill any humans. He was a sadistic pet guardian who fought and killed dogs. Keyword “WAS”.

    HE WAS TRIED.

    HE WAS CONVICTED.

    HE SERVED HIS FREAKING TIME.

HE SERVED HIS PROBATION! HE TOOK RESPONSIBILITY & LEARNED A LESSON.

Albeit a lesson most people have known since they were outta diapers but still some people are slow as hell.

Get the f-ck over it! Either we Americans are going to allow people who’ve been convicted of a crime to do their time & move on with their lives after taking responsibility for their crimes OR we are going to kill everyone who commits a crime so that we can feel satisfied?

If you are NEVER willing to allow people who have committed crimes to move on, make a living, hold a job, own a house, have children and even honestly prosper from any talents they have then WHY LET ANYONE OUT OF JAIL?

Hell why even put people who commit crimes in jail/prison at all why not just kill them and call it a day? All guilty verdicts should result in either a lifetime prison sentence or death.

People make mistakes. But more people make asses out of themselves by constantly pointing out offender and chastising them and other for their errors.

  14. I will absolute boycott Nike. ‘Redeemed himself’ what a joke!!! It’s absolutely unforgivable- I was pissed when they let him play football again. He should be in prison for the rest of his life- if not worse.

  15. Nike could have picked anyone else; good decent sports people ANYONE but him. I am so disappointed. I wouldn’t wear Nike if it were free.

  16. Nike wants to market to sociopaths apparently. Next they’ll hire Chris Brown.

  17. Right on, Janet. The big question: why did Nike go there with such a divisive figure? There are plenty of other celebrities.

  18. @ ] just do not get it.. yes he served his time…. which frankly was not long enough as compared to those animals who suffered for their entire lives… however… fine, he can go back into society and make a living doing something but not go on to be selected for hero awards and multi-million dollar endorsements etc… animals have spirit and pain just as much as you do. michael vick has not earned the right to endorse anything except campaigning for animal advocacy. he can go back into society but he is undeserving of any kind of hero worshiping. again he did not make a mistake he deliberatly decided to harm helpless beings and not only enjoy dog fighting but also enjoyed killing them in other vile ways. or maybe the more proper thing is to let him get in a cage with a few dozen trained dog fighting pitbulls and let them attack him and ripped him to shreds then maybe I’ll feel like he finally got a sentence where will understand what he did was wrong and he can know the depth of the pain he put those animals through. yes he can make a living but he is undeserving of anything more than with the average joe public has to work for.
the only way multi 1,000,000 dollar endorsements would be justified is if he takes ALL of that money and donate it to animal rights causes

  19. What he did was unspeakably horrible, yet he did serve his time and at least pretended to be sorry, ahtho I feel no sympathy for him.

So I think the only thing that can assuage both sides of the matter is this:

Nike can make a public statement that the money he makes from endorsing them will go toward animal abuse, animal shelters, better living conditions in shelters. Only leave him barely enough to live on (from the Nike money) and have it in his contract that the rest will go to the above mentioned. When he goes on TV to advertise Nike, this contract should be written on the screen.

  20. PS: Also, he should have to go to shelters, clean them up, go to schools and speak about how to treatment our pets, esp. dogs. This should be for at least 5 years, and he should wear a beeper telling where he is at all times.

  21. He did his time. Leave him alone already!
You are the same people who will pay and watch a Roman Polanski film with no problem at all.

  22. Wrong. I wont seen films by Polanski either. You obviously are detached from animal cruelty issues to think that a FEW cushy years in jail is a proper sentence for a sadist. You just need to read the investigative reports from Vick’s case to know how horrific his crimes were. You obviously are a sadist yourself or uninformed.

  23. Janet you seem pretty pety to me,the man served the time,he redeemed himself and now works with one of the most respected animal rights activist to educate people on the same issue, why should`t he be allowed to go ahead and live his life?this is disgusting, you are no different than nay sayers who deny rehabilitated ex convicts to start over, and to compare this to child molesters sudgests how disturbed you are in your mind set,you just lost my respect.

  24. Screw you Janet and all you haters out there. The man lost everything, he paid for his crime and wants to live out the rest of his life. Everyone deserves a second chance and he is getting it. All you haters have to do is not buy anything Nike. It’s as simple as that. I sure will.

  25. Thank you janet for honoring the truth about this loser. I have even more respect for you. Vick did not lose everything. he still has his life unlike those dogs who never got to live out there is in freedom. Vic still has bother his ears attached and baby smooth skin and pathetic companies like BET backing him like he is some victim. What is a classless group of people. Apparently they want hugs and losers to represent their community. They can’t praise Michael Vick, Kanye or Chris Brown enough. Sad examples for our future youth to follow.
yes suzie you keep buying those nike products and just remember that you partake in the endorsement of animal cruelty when you do that.

  26. Oh boo hoo hoo. Poor Michael Vick. Wen feel sooooooo sorry for him. LOL.

  27. Every one makes mistakes and Lesson learn and understanding comes to the future but Lets face facts..He is a nice looking man and is very handsome and completely attractive and of course…He is smoking hot and really cute and he is young and sweet looking and I know massive amount of woman ready and willing to be there when the shoe hits the stand and yes we all sin and make mistakes but that is life and I Do Wish this young man a great future and hope that he moves throw life learning. Thanks for foregiving and careing about a young mans future and That is really nice that you can over look a person mistake and Be the bigger man and open your heart and give this young man a bright future. Good luck and take care.!!!!Have a wonderful day.

  28. VIVA LA VICK!!

i like it when white folks are pissed off!

  29. Im not white and I am pissed and disgusted. Nike has lost my business for certain.

  30. Corporations giv chickens and cows poison to eat, kills them, package them with a coat of ammonia before it hits the market shelf for u to consume and michael Vick is bad.

Oil companies disrupt the ocean and river when their boat leaks oil to fish for profit and Michael Vick is bad.

Most of u have a leather jacket, shoes, wrist watches, sports toys, car seats made out of leather and Michael Vick is bad.

The government kills and rapes women, children and men oversseas and Michael Vick is bad.

  31. BOYCOTT THESE BASTARDS AND LET THEM KNOW IT: PLEASE CONTACT THEM ABOUT THIS DISGUSTING DECISION AND OUR OUTRAGE AT THEIR INSANE DECISION TO HIRE AN ANIMAL TORTURER, WHO I AM SURE WILL BE PAID MILLIONS:
I do this in memory of my beloved pit RoscoPie….. and all his brothers and sisters that have been beyond abused and still are: THANK YOU.

I don’t know if they have a specific number, but the corporate number is 800-344-6453. Also, their address is:
Nike World Headquarters, One Bowerman Drive, Beaverton, OR 97005-6453.

PEOPLE WHO NEED TO HEAR FROM ALL OF US:
Philip K. Knight – Chairman, Nike, Inc.
Mark Parket – President & CEO, Nike Inc.
Charlie Denson – President, Nike Brand
Adam S. Helfant – VP, Global Sports Marketing

  32. Yes, destroy Michael Vick. Because NONE OF YOU have skeletons in YOUR closets. RIGHT? Yeah, right.

Not to go all Biblical, but, “Let he who is without sin cast the first stone”…

  33. “Skeletons” are one thing… Blatant, intentional and chronic animal abuse is quite another.

And for those of you who say he’s “done his time” and deserves another chance, would you think the same of a child molester?

Child molesters and animal abusers are in the same category as far as I’m concerned… Both are innocent, defenseless victims without a voice.

I’m DONE with Nike for good and all.

  34. Thanks, pit bull lover, everyone outraged by this news SHOULD contact Nike and complain!

  35. I know I will! Thanks Pitbull and Janet! @ they love animals… Of I were you I would be pissed that people in your community think Vick is the best example they can come up with for accolades and awards. Pretty low standards and nothing to be proud of…

  36. I know I will! Thanks Pitbull and Janet! @ they love animals… If I were you I would be pissed that people in your community think Vick is the best example they can come up with for accolades and awards. Pretty low standards and nothing to be proud of…

  37. Sheesh, Mr Vick should be glad these people were not in charge of his punishment!

He just may have been sent to the electric chair.

  38. PBL thank for that info, for sure I will be following up with this. Vick killed and tortured those dogs in extra painful ways purely meant for his and his buddies lust for blood and torment of the animals. Hanging them, burying them alive and letting them die the most horribly painful deaths while they looked on or turned their backs in complete uncaring selfishness.
Vick is a monster and the fact that he COULD do those things shows what a sociopath he is at heart because no NORMAL human being with a loving heart could stand by and watch an animal tortured and not step in to stop it, let alone BE THE TORTURER! That is NOT NORMAL HUMAN BEHAVIOR and a person capable of soing that does NOT CHANGE. Their personality stays the same until they die. He is a sociopathic killer and torturer and that’s a FACT and all of you who forgive him should take a long hard look at yourself and YOUR emotions if you can support such a twisted individual. This includes the people on here and all the way up to the corporate top; Nike and whoever else is in line to get this killer to endorse their products.
Don’t they do surveys anymore? I can’t imagine any panel sitting in for Nike saying yes, go ahead, Vick is a good decision. It’s the WORST thing a corporate decision maker could have done is sign up this monster. Way to kill off your whole company Nike!

  39. Pit bull, Rita and janet how many times does someone pay their debt to society after they just paid their debt to society. Are u calling the poultry companies too, leather cars seats, furniture, clothes suitcases, shoe maker, belt maker, leather watch straps, sneakers, football skin, baseball gloves, basketballs. Yes your priorities are together as when Vick was fighting the animals, bored, nothing to do and not getting laid.

  40. ok you guys let’s get real.

You can never make the same mistake twice. The second time you make it, it’s no longer a mistake, it’s a choice.

The truth does not change according to our ability to stomach it.

“Every decision you make is not a decision about what to do; it’s a decision about who
    you are.”

“The measure of a society can be how well its people treat its animals.” ~Mohandas Gandhi

“The question is not Can they reason? Nor Can they talk? But Can they Suffer”

“You can judge a man’s true character by the way he treats his fellow animals.”

  41. This is some of the information availible to the public by ESPN.com news services on the Michael Vick indictment:

NFL star Michael Vick was indicted by a federal grand jury on charges of sponsoring a dogfighting operation so grisly the losers either died in the pit or sometimes were electrocuted, drowned, hanged or shot.

In March 2003, after a pit bull from Bad Newz Kennels lost in a fight, it said Purnell Peace consulted with Vick about the losing dog’s condition, then executed it by wetting it with water and electrocuting it.
About eight young dogs were put to death at the Surry County home after they were found not ready to fight in April 2007, the indictment said. They were killed “by hanging, drowning and/or slamming at least one dog’s body to the ground. Sometimes, dogs weren’t fed to “make it more hungry for the other dog.”

At the start, authorities seized 66 dogs, including 55 pit bulls, and equipment commonly used in dogfighting. About half the dogs were tethered to car axles with heavy chains that allowed the dogs to get close to each other, but not to have contact — an arrangement typical for fighting dogs, according to the search warrant affidavit.

the Department of Agriculture executed their own search warrant and found the remains of seven dogs.

Now all of you who insist this person can change his ways simply by being jailed go have your heads examined because there is something seriously wrong with YOUR thinking!

  42. Vick is sadistic, evil piece of shit!I am pretty sure he will gonna burn in hell for the despicable crime he did to those dogs.

  43. @ the american. Yawn. You can make this a race issue or you can make this about the human race and the fact that only a sociopath mentality would look past the behavior of Vick and bed more concerned about his skin color than his acts of violence. If Drew Brees had done what Vick did every.single person on this thread (sans you for being stupid) would look at it no differently than how they view Vick. MLK Said he dreamt of a day that men were judged by their CHARACTER. You fail to get that his actions were vicious and greedy. You should bed ashamed of this as a humang not giving him a free pass because hey is black. Please have a little more pride than that.

  44. Forget the skin color. Evil is evil. Wrong is wrong.

  45. I am with Nicola on this. Animal fighting is an accepted sport in many countries and Vick broke laws and paid a heavy price. Forget it and go on. I support Nike. We are so worried about the feelings of fish, cats, rats, and insects.

No doubt, there will be gay parade protests and anyone can choose to buy or not buy Nike.

Today instead of grilling steaks…I will grill hot dogs!

Grow up America, there are many worse issues….gangs and illegal immigration and the dumbing of the population.

  46. Janet, you can comment on animal cruelty but you do NOTHING about the racist and misogynistic rants on YOUR site.

  47. Boycott all you want but the black community will come out in droves. He’ll still get his Nike endorsement.
