JESSICA ALVES WANTS A WOMB TRANSPLANT SO SHE CAN GIVE BIRTH!

Jessica Alves is now in Brazil, hoping to become the first transgender woman to have a womb transplant. AND have a baby! It was only last February that she became a woman after sex reassignment surgery, and already she says she will only feel truly complete if she can give birth! We still wonder WHERE she gets the mountains of money she spends on surgeries, travel and designer clothes. Since her only known job was on Big Brother UK, she must have very indulgent parents. Apparently doctors in Brazil theorize that since womb transplants have been successful for women, they might work for a transgender woman. Womb donors would consist of dead donors or women who transitioned to become men and had wombs removed. (Think about it- someday there might be banks of donated sex organs available to aspiring transgender people!) Jessica, 38, has already frozen her sperm for her IVF pregnancy (with a donated egg) if she has a successful womb transplant. She’s hoping for a “brood of children.” Right now she’s taking tests and exams before the operation to make sure she’s an ideal candidate.

An enormous number of people were relieved to hear that Al Roker’s prostate cancer surgery last week was a success. Despite the big shake-up at NBC a few years ago, Al was one of the survivors and he remains a morning show favorite. He was bombarded by get well wishes – even from people at competing networks. Al said he’s eager to get 2020 out of the way and this weekend he power walked in Central Park to hasten his getting back to business.

Bruce Jenner’s potential transgender surgery and new life is going to be a ratings BONANZA for the E! channel. Who wouldn’t be curious enough to watch THAT? We figured Bruce would not go through this process without documenting the “journey” and getting handsomely paid for it. It’s not often that a well known sports hero and public figure chooses to change sexes. And of course it will greatly enhance the transgender community.

Like everyone else we were totally surprised by Angelina Jolie’s announcement about her preventive double mastectomy. Angelina’s heartfelt letter to The New York Times about her health situation will certainly serve to educate women everywhere. How she managed to keep all these months of surgeries at the Pink Lotus Breast Center in Beverly Hills a secret is amazing. We wondered what Angie and Brad and the kids were doing in LA these past months because they don’t usually stay in one place for long. We do remember how devastated Angelina was when her mother Marcheline died. We happened to be staying at L’Ermitage Hotel in Beverly Hills around six years ago and her mother Marcheline was also living there in seclusion while she was being treated at nearby Cedars Sinai Hospital. Hotel staffers told me Angie was a constant visitor and did everything possible to care for her mother. Within a year her mother was gone. Angelina wants to be around for her kids and grandchildren – good for her.

Celebrity Apprentice Lisa Lampanelli Surgery Weight

WILL QUEEN OF MEAN LISA LAMPANELLI LOSE HER EDGE ALONG WITH HER WEIGHT?

It will be interesting to see if her weight loss changes Lisa Lampanelli’s attitude. Lisa and her husband Jimmy have both had gastric sleeve surgery and as a result, she’s lost 60 lbs. When she was on Celebrity Apprentice, Lisa was an angry overweight comic – she gobbled fast food and was critical to the point of cruelty to her slim and pretty competitors. As smart as Lisa is, she must have seen her negativity on the show turned off a lot of viewers and did little to enhance her popularity. Now that she’s losing weight she not only LOOKS better, she seems happier and less combative, but still funny. Feeling better about herself makes a difference. Good for her!

ARETHA FRANKLIN’S HEALTH IS STILL A MYSTERY- AND SHE’S NOT TALKING

Secretive celebrity Aretha Franklin admits she’s gained 40 pounds in the past few months but her health is still a giant mystery. Nearly two years ago she had surgery and would never reveal what it was for. (We speculated gastric bypass.) At the time, relatives of her whispered that she had pancreatic cancer. Aretha denied that she had cancer, but STILL would not talk about her surgery. During the months that followed she cancelled concerts and lost at least 85 pounds. We feared the worst. But suddenly she seemed to snap out of her health problems and got back to work, looking healthier than ever. Now people are saying that she may NOT have had cancer, but actually had complications from her gastric surgery from which she has recovered. But she seems to be stretching her stomach again because she has packed on 40 of the pounds she lost. If Aretha DID have nothing worse than gastric surgery, we wish she would admit it so her fans can stop worrying about her. And she might get more job offers too!

Aretha Franklin’s taped message on the Grammys revealed that she has lost a considerable amount of weight. She still refuses to discuss her hospitalization and surgery a few months ago, so speculation never stops. At first it was assumed she had lap-band surgery to lose weight, but the rumor that she had surgery for pancreatic cancer began to circulate. Either would cause weight loss. Aretha is strangely reluctant to reveal her health issue but she did say “Doctors believe my surgery will add 15 to 20 years to my life.” We hope so.

Everybody’s worried about Aretha Franklin’s upcoming surgery because she won’t reveal what it’s all about. That gets imaginations working overtime. She’s cancelled all concerts and cleared her schedule until May. Concerned fans held a prayer vigil for her in Detroit. Hopefully, it’s not as serious as her fans fear, and Aretha is having lap-band surgery or something like it, that would improve her weight and health. We’d like to keep her around as long as possible.
