DC Comics is introducing a new Superman graphic novel called “Superman: Earth One” and the man of steel has had a modern makeover. The new sexy Superman is 20 years old, he wears hoods and skinny ties and he’s a LOT less muscular. Every hair is NOT in place. He’s no longer the clean cut, fresh faced boy next door like Christopher Reeve – now he’s moody and introspective. Very Emo. In fact, he bears a striking resemblance to Rob Pattinson! (Or Edward Cullen) A movie can’t be far behind.

Malibu Mother Movies Robert Pattinson

ROB PATTINSON AND HIS MYSTERY DATE AT THE MOVIES

Who IS that lucky woman on a movie date with Rob Pattinson? It’s his mother, Clare. Rob is still filming “Water for Elephants” in LA and he took his mom to a movie theater in Malibu where they saw “Salt.” On the way out Rob was immediately surrounded by palpitating young women and his mother couldn’t help but laugh.

CORRECTION: The photographer incorrectly identified this as Rob’s mother, but astute readers pointed out that it’s actually his agent Stephanie….We wonder what they thought of the movie.

ROB PATTINSON: WHEN YOU’RE REALLY HOT, NO ABS ARE NECESSARY

Apparently the difficult to please French are every bit as enamored with Robert Pattinson as we are. So if he thinks he can walk around Paris unmolested, he’s got another think coming. Rob gave a long interview to the French Premiere about the inner workings of his new Twilight movie “Eclipse” and French readers hung on every word. And keep in mind, Rob is the object of obsession for uncountable women, and he has never shown his abs. We love him even more for that.

CHRISTOPH WALTZ AND HIS TRADEMARK BOOTS

Christoph Waltz can’t get out of those vintage riding pants and boots that look so good on him. His Oscar winning Nazi character in “Inglourious Basterds” wore the same authoritative style. Christoph plays a volatile animal trainer for a circus in “Water for Elephants” and apparently he gives Rob Pattinson’s character a hard time. Reese Witherspoon plays Waltz’s long suffering wife.

We think Zac Efron is gradually easing himself into a Twilight haircut. Rob Pattinson’s look is being aped by guys everywhere – even one cutie we saw checking out customers at Target. It’ll take a little while before it’s fully grown out but Zac has the hair for it. We wonder if he’ll take Courteney Cox up on her invitation to guest as her younger love interest on “Cougar Town.”

At first it was a toss-up to decide which of The View women had the biggest crush on Rob Pattinson when he guested on their show today to promote “Remember me.” The ladies were dolled up and on their best and most coy behavior. They could barely contain their smiles and shy glances. But Barbara Walters definitely seemed most smitten. Not only did she compare Rob to James Dean (which is as good as it gets from her era – or ANY era for that matter) When Joy remarked about his looks and asked Barbara for her opinion, Barbara cooed “You already KNOW what I think.”

WE WON’T FORGET TO SEE ROB PATTINSON’S “REMEMBER ME”

Time stood still for a few minutes this morning when Rob Pattinson appeared on The Today Show to promote his new movie “Remember Me.” The big question is: Will this movie be a success in any way like the Twilight series? (Rob plays kind of a James Dean type character.) How much of the Twilight audience went just to see Rob? ROB PATTINSON HAS LEFT THE CITY

We felt a twinge of regret when Rob Pattinson left Los Angeles on Halloween- only days after he arrived from Canada. We secretly hoped he’d stick around for awhile and we’d bump into him somewhere. (Anything can happen in this town.) Now that possibility is shattered since he he’s flown away to start publicizing his “New Moon” movie. Sigh.
