Can you imagine OJ Simpson contacting the National Enquirer from prison to tell them to leave Paula Deen alone? It happened. OJ felt the need to defend her in the racism scandal: “Give Paula a break – she deserves a second chance.” Apparently Paula was extremely HOSPITABLE to OJ when the double murderer visited her restaurant The Lady & Sons in Georgia in 2002! And THAT is the worst crime of all! She served up a banquet for him and simpered that she never believed he was guilty!! What kind of person rolls out the red carpet for OJ SIMPSON? Suddenly we don’t care if they throw the book at Paula- she’s guilty of gross stupidity at the VERY least. And having OJ Simpson in her corner is about as helpful as having Charles Manson on her side.

ROBERT BLAKE: GETTING AWAY WITH MURDER ISN’T ALL IT’S CRACKED UP TO BE

Like OJ, Robert Blake was acquitted of murdering his nefarious wife Bonny Lee Bakley, but found guilty when her family filed a wrongful death lawsuit. (Remember, Bonny was a hustler who married at least 10 times.) It’s now twelve years since Bakley was shot, and a settlement was finally reached. According to the National Enquirer, former Baretta star Blake, 79, is supposed to pay Bakley’s children around two million dollars. How he‘ll come up with the money is questionable – he doesn’t work. Blake is a sad and solitary figure often photographed having coffee alone at Starbucks in his neighborhood.

DID OSCAR PISTORIUS SLAUGHTER HIS GIRLFRIEND BECAUSE OF THIS GUY?

The first thing that popped into mind when we heard about Oscar Pistorius and the violent assault and shooting of his girlfriend was STEROIDS. Hyped up athletes with bad tempers are a menace. Oscar not only shot his model girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp four times, but he apparently bashed in her head with a cricket bat. As the story develops, it turned out Reeva had gotten a late night text from handsome rugby star Francois Hougaard (above) before she was killed. Now police have reportedly found illegal steroids at Oscar’s house and also “evidence of heavy drinking.” It’s a tragic and disgusting story.

Another blow to Scientology! That “Sons of Anarchy” actor who horrifically murdered his landlady AND her cat was an active Scientologist! According to RadarOnline, Johnny Lewis, 28, was a high profile member of the cult and touted on websites and message boards. When he wasn’t acting, Lewis was a violent criminal with a history of robbery and assault . He was fresh out of jail and likely high on some drug when he killed his 81 year old landlady at her Los Feliz home, beat up a couple of neighbors, and ended up dead when he fell off the roof. The National Enquirer should be ashamed. TLC has stolen their sensational tabloid investigation ideas and they are building a hugely successful (if somewhat tasteless) network on it. The Enquirer should have had a tabloid network of their own YEARS ago. We thought Honey Boo Boo and the siamese twins Abby and Brittany were startling, but this new special “Half-Ton Killer,” telling the story of a grotesquely obese woman charged with squashing a little girl is beyond belief. DYLAN MCDERMOTT’S TRAGIC CHILDHOOD: HIS MOTHER WAS MURDERED

“Practice” attorney Dylan McDermott always seemed like a good looking guy who grew up pampered with money. It turns out his youth was not as idyllic as one might assume. His Italian mother was fifteen when he was born in Connecticut in 1961 and his Irish father was seventeen. Six years later they were divorced and Dylan, his mother, and sister were living with grandparents. In 1967 his mother was shot dead and her death was originally ruled an accident. The kids were raised by grandparents, but Dylan recently contacted police to get details about his mother’s death. They re-examined the investigation and determined that his mother had been killed by her gangster boyfriend. In 1972 the boyfriend’s body was found in the trunk of a car in a supermarket parking lot. Robert Blake – alone as usual- he’s in the habit of taking a newspaper to lunch. (No more Russian girlfriends?) You can just imagine people whispering as he walks by “There’s the guy who murdered his wife and got away with it.” Just think- at one time he was a movie star and a top TV star in “Baretta” – in those days he had fans galore. Now he eats alone.

COPS ARE INVESTIGATING SPOTLIGHT BAR PATRONS REGARDING “HEAD IN A BAG” MURDER

We heard a little info about the “head in a bag” found in the Hollywood Hills. Since the murder victim was identified as Hervey Medellin, 66, a retired airline employee, investigators are looking for people who used to frequent the Spotlight dive bar in Hollywood, which closed in September. This sleazy but popular and well-known bar was almost half a century old – Keifer Sutherland drank there and Brad Pitt tried to buy the place at one time. It was also a gay bar where older men often picked up young hustlers. Police are following a tip that the murdered man met someone there awhile back and he may be a suspect. Just passing on what we heard….

Documentary Merle Ginsberg Murder Ronni Chasen

MAYBE THE FRENCH CAN DIG UP SOME ANSWERS TO THE RONNI CHASEN MYSTERY

We don’t know of anyone (except the Beverly Hills police department) who was satisfied with the investigation of Hollywood publicist Ronni Chasen’s death. The story of a vagrant on a bicycle who killed her without motivation and then committed suicide just doesn’t add up. According to Merle Ginsberg at The Hollywood Reporter, a French company is working on a documentary about the 2010 killing, and we’re hoping they ask all the right questions and come up with some fresh ideas. Ronni would undoubtedly be flattered to know that her mysterious death was of worldwide interest.
