ROBERT DENIRO LOOKS LIKE A CASUAL SHOPPER – BUT DON’T JUMP TO CONCLUSIONS

We have NEVER seen a paparazzi photo of Robert Deniro shopping in a market so THIS was a surprise. But we soon learned this was a location shoot for the Nancy Meyers comedy “The Intern,” which sounds like it’ll be funny. Anne Hathaway plays the owner of an internet fashion business who learns that she is getting an intern. The intern turns out NOT to be a stylish college student, but an older man played by DeNiro. Surprisingly, the intern becomes a valuable assistant and the pair develop a friendly relationship.

ADAM ANT STILL LIKES TO DRESS UP

You can’t accuse Adam Ant, 59, of wanting to avoid the paparazzi because this outfit would attract attention even on the streets of London. The 80’s pop star (he describes his early music with Adam and the Ants as post punk, NOT New Romantic) is now a solo artist. He’s been diagnosed as bi-polar and struggles with medication because it takes away his creativity. Of course when he doesn’t take it, bad things tend to happen. He’s still touring and performing in Europe and lives near his teen-age daughter in the UK. Little known fact: he once dated Jamie Lee Curtis!

MILEY CYRUS IS STILL TRYING TOO HARD

Miley Cyrus continues in her quest to gross out as many people as possible at her concerts. Why she finds is necessary to introduce vulgarity and simulated sex into her performances is baffling. Inflatable bananas don’t sell records. Her music tops the charts and except for her questionable taste, she’s become a respected performer. This Amsterdam show is the last of her European tour. On August 1, her USA tour begins.

WHAT WE WANT FROM JACLYN SMITH HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH PATIO FURNITURE

Former “Charlie’s Angel” Jaclyn Smith, 68, (no kidding!) still acts occasionally, but her big paycheck comes from her design deal with Kmart and her outdoor furniture collection. Besides clothing, she has her name on all sorts of home goods like Kathy Ireland. But what the world REALLY wants from Jaclyn is INFORMATION – she has remained one of the most attractive and natural beauties in Hollywood and we don’t know how she does it. Certainly there are a few cosmetic procedures involved. A book would be nice, Jaclyn!

BRUCE JENNER’S IDEA OF DRESSING UP IS WEARING LIP GLOSS TO CHURCH

Bruce Jennier is making SOME sort of a statement here. He was photographed leaving his community church in Westlake by himself. Why he doesn’t bother to dress a little better for church is a mystery- he’s certainly a celebrity. It IS significant that he is not joining his estranged wife Kris at the Life Change Community Church that she co-founded in Agoura Hills. The Kardashians raise money for their church by selling their used clothes on eBay. Besides looking sloppy, Bruce is reportedly wearing lip gloss here. Not a good way to squash those sex-change rumors.

When we think of Anthony Michael Hall we always chuckle over his Rusty Griswold character in National lampoon’s Vacation, or his nerdy character in Breakfast Club in the 80’s. But he’s put all that behind him and emerged as a Ralph Lauren clad polo aficionado with a pretty Russian girlfriend. He was photographed at Will Rogers Polo Field in LA with actress/model Lucia Oskerova. And he has a new movie coming out in November, Foxcatcher, that got raves at Cannes.

MAYBE LISA MARIE PRESLEY DOESN’T REALLY HAVE A BAD BACK

Lisa Marie Presley’s concert tour was a hit in Japan and Australia, but she abruptly cancelled all her performances in the USA and Canada, claiming back pain. But insiders are saying the real reason she canceled is because she didn’t sell enough tickets. Maybe all those Scientologists who used to stand in line to see her are no longer fans. After all, Lisa, 46, seems to be disillusioned by the cult and is now living in the UK and estranged from Scientology.

ENRIQUE IGLESIAS: WHAT’S GOING ON UNDER THAT HAT?

The fact that Enrique Iglesias, 39, never leaves the house without a hat indicates that he is still struggling with hair loss. Men’s hair augmentation websites have been speculating about this for YEARS. The only time you get a glimpse of what may or may not be his “hair” is when he’s primped and posing for PR photos or an album cover. But when he’s out and about, on the beach, or even performing, that baseball cap is firmly attached to his head. It’s been going on for so long that he can’t be getting hair transplants. A shaved head might solve a lot of problems here.
