This week’s cover story in The Enquirer details a new book by Robert Randolph called “You’ll Never Spa in This Town Again” and the author claims that “family man” Travolta has been a regular at gay spas in West Hollywood for years. And, of course, Randolph passed a polygraph test. As startling as this news IS, other papers- including the British tabloids – haven’t picked it up, and nobody’s paying much attention. The Enquirer scoop about John Edwards’ love child was monumental and we believe this story is just as accurate and sensational. Also odd is the fact that the story is NOT on the Enquirer website. We’re starting to wonder if all Kelly >Preston’s babies have been via test tube.

So many thoughts, so little space. First off, God forbid Travolta get mixed up with a good-looking stock broker or dentist. Oh no, it’s gotta be a porn star! So not only does he help foster homophobia by denying who he is but he reinforces the stereotype that gay men are all about sex. Second, this story, if true, exposes the sheer lunacy of those who want to restrict legalized marriage to a man and a woman. Finally, how the hell did TMZ let this story slip away to the Enquirer? Harvey Levin, of all people, should know what’s going on in sex clubs.

I think John gets away with it because he established his career before Outing and the TMZ level of media coverage, AND because he was lucky to have gotten roles – in Welcome Back Kotter & Saturday Night Fever – that made him a macho male icon. Lots of guys developed male crushes on Travolta. So, what does it say about them if HE is gay? Everyone is in denial.
BTW Indy, The Church of Scientology is the one with the upper hand. When people join the church they have to go through a number of processes, and one involves relating/confessing all sexual encounters. These confessions are kept on record. So, if a famous member who had had gay relationships ever tries to leave, the church would threaten him/her with an Outing. I agree. There are so many “gay” men who have married and fathered children is it impossible to count. It doesn’t make him “not gay” but he could very well be bisexual or straight. Kelly and John have been together a very long time and I’ve seen them together interacting and the love they show each other doesn’t look at all like acting to me. What would be the point anyway? They both have the lovely family and mate they want. And IF he IS gay, or Bi, why anyone besides Kelly would give a shit is beyond me. I’ve always enjoyed his movies (the ones I’ve seen anyway, not the stupid science fiction crap). I think he’s a truely decent man too. Living with a lie is bad enough, but building your life around one is nothing but dangerous. Here are some negative results of being in the closet to the extent of a Travolta: passing AIDS or STDs to the spouse (if the man is bi), passing along the gay gene in an unhealthy environment (a gay boy having a father who is actually a closeted homosexual! Shakespearean, no?), the constant threat of being exposed causing stress and resulting in bad decisions, the slippery slope (one lie – especially one so big – leads to more).

@ Mrs. Patrick Campbell, I assumed that Janet’s reporting on this is tongue-in-cheek, as when TMZ reports on what a stud Ryan Seacrest is. No one is buys that certain celebs are straight – it is too implausable.
There actor types are living their jobs. The acting extends to ‘real life’ and there are no more lines between what’s a play and what’s not. I just wonder why wouldn’t they come out? I have been a fan of John Travolta for many years. I believe he has a good heart. I believe he has always wanted children and I believe he is an outstanding father. I also believe he is gay (not bi). I believe he “married” his best friend, Kelly, in an arrangement. They are wonderful to the children but although John and Kelly truly love each other, it is only as the very best of friends and not as husband and wife.
I don’t care if both of them are gay. That’s their busines. I do strongly suspect that Kelly is bi and/or gay.

And I don’t for a second believe it’s an arrangement when she could have the full package easily with someone else if she wasn’t getting it from him.
