MOB LAND: COWBOYS AND GANGSTERS?

John Travolta is probably quite grateful for the SAG/AFTRA strike happening now, because he won’t be permitted to publicize his new movie Mob Land. According to Roger Friedman, the film is a disaster – it earned less that $200 in the UK, and has a Rotten Tomatoes score of 43%. As of August 4, you can rent the film on Amazon. Travolta has been cranking out these B-minus movies for quite awhile now, so they must be financially lucrative. He plays an earnest sheriff in a small town dealing with a drug infestation. We’re certain John looks better with his cowboy hat ON…

JOHN TRAVOLTA ON SCIENTOLOGY: DON’T ASK DON’T TELL

We can’t help wondering about John Travolta’s current ties to Scientology. At one time John was such a high ranking member that it was said he could get away with murder. John was the most powerful celebrity “church” member until Tom Cruise came along. He’s been a member since 1975 (remember the Battlefield Earth debacle?) but rumors are circulating that he is now distancing himself from the organization. They started after his wife Kelly Preston died of breast cancer in 2020. John praised the medical team that treated his wife, but it’s noteworthy that Scientologists are vehemently AGAINST traditional medical treatments like chemotherapy and radiation. Last year, John sold his big house in Clearwater, Florida, where Scientology headquarters are located, and didn’t look back. (Tom Cruise still has a house there) Nowadays John doesn’t say anything negative about Scientology, nor does he bring up the subject. He certainly does not want to anger the powerful and controlling church – bad things might happen. So if he DOES discreetly slip away from Scientology, we probably won’t know about it…

JOHN TRAVOLTA’S DAUGHTER ELLA BLEU IS A LEADING LADY

John Travolta’s cute 20 year old daughter Ella Bleu Travolta was just cast in her first leading role in a film called Get Lost and we don’t know what to think. It’s described as a “young adult” film and a modern take-off on Alice in Wonderland. This time around, “Alicia” is a young woman backpacking through Europe who lands in Budapest where she has a chance encounter with a strange girl. The new girl leads her on an extravagant overnight adventure where she meets a collection of odd characters who change her life. We’ve never heard of any of the people involved in the production, and for Ella’s sake, we hope Scientologists aren’t producing this film. Remember what happened with John’s huge flop Battlefield Earth?

JOHN TRAVOLTA WHEN HE WAS FIFTEEN YEARS OLD

John Travolta must be sorting through his old photos during isolation and he posted this one on Instagram. (He’s in the light blue shirt) He wrote that when he was fifteen his school offered an aviation class which inspired his “second career.” (five girls and only two boys?) Travolta collects jets like other celebrities collect sports cars. He was even named an honorary Quantas pilot at one time. John still flies frequently and last we heard he had a private “airport” with two runways at his Clearwater Florida home near the Scientology center.

AUSTRALIA IS LOADED WITH JOHN TRAVOLTA FANS

Four bombs in a row have landed John Travolta,65, on the celebrity fan-fest Comic-Con circuit in Australia. His last film, The Fanatic, failed in August, but the biggest flop of his entire career was Gotti, in 2018. Fortunately, the Grease star just had a profitable two weeks in Australia at fan conventions – charging $500 for an autographed photo or $250 for a selfie with fans. In several cities he also arranged “An Evening with John Travolta” meet and greet appearances where he talked about his career and answered audience questions. Between shows, John took his kids Ben, 8, and Ella, 19, to Featherdale Wildlife Park in Sydney to visit the animals.

THE BIGGEST WINNER AT THE MTV MOVIE AWARDS: JADE JOLIE

John Travolta’s myopic move to hand the MTV award to drag queen Jade Jolie (who appeared in Taylor Swift’s video) instead of the REAL Taylor Swift, accidentally made Jolie an overnight sensation. Jade was basically known only to RuPaul’s Drag Race fans and today he’s all over the internet. All this notoriety can’t help but boost sales at Jade’s drag shows…

JOHN TRAVOLTA IS HIDING ONE OF HIS BEST FEATURES

Okay, we can live with John Travolta’s shaved head, BUT that tinted beard has to go. Worst of all, the scruffy facial hair covers up one of Travolta’s assets – his chin dimple. He’s promoting his new film The Fanatic (directed by Limp Bizkit’s Fred Durst) – it’s about a crazy fan who becomes a threat to the object of his obsession. John plays the crazy fan and the movie is described as incredibly violent. Above, it looks like John has a fan of his own clinging to him and someone is pulling her away…

JOHN TRAVOLTA HAS THE LOOK OF A BAD GUY

John Travolta arrived at his hotel in Sanremo, Italy, for the first time without hair! Looks like he’s trying to make up for it by growing an abundance of fur on his face. Italians love him and John has had a tough year. His Gotti and Speed Kills movies were gigantic flops – but he redeemed himself by ditching the wigs and going bald. We have a feeling he’ll be playing lots of villains from now on…

PAUL MCCARTNEY FINALLY “WORKED OUT” HIS HAIR COLOR

First it was John Travolta abandoning his longtime habit of wearing hairpieces – in varying degrees of quality. John is now proudly sporting his shaved head and fans seem to love it. This week Paul McCartney popped up with his natural grey hair blowing in the wind. Paul dyed his hair brown for many years and he often did it at home with the help of his daughter, to save a trip to the salon. Results were often artificial looking, so we were happy to see Paul sporting his natural grey hair.

JOHN TRAVOLTA FINALLY CAME OUT OF THE CLOSET ABOUT HIS FAKE HAIR

What a relief! John Travolta, 64, has been dodgy about his hair loss for many years and it became a long-running joke. He must have a room full of hairpieces at home and a beautician on call to perfectly place them on his scalp. At the same time he endured plenty of teasing about his evolving “hairstyles.” He’s come a long way since he played the unforgettable pompadoured heartthrob Danny in Grease. When Travolta played Robert Shapiro in The People v. OJ Simpson, HE had far MORE hair than the real Shapiro did. Now the cat’s out of the bag, and we can all relax: John posted this photo of himself and daughter Ella, 18, over the holidays.
