IS HUGH GRANT AFRAID TO TAKE CHARLIE SHEEN’S JOB?

Hugh Grant’s career is not exactly on fire – he hasn’t had a hit movie in quite awhile. In fact, he toyed with the idea of quitting acting not long ago. The “Notting Hill” star seems ripe for a lucrative TV offer and it doesn’t get much better than a million dollars an episode for “Two and a Half Men.” According to Deadline Hollywood, Chuck Lorre wants to replace his leading man Charlie Sheen with Hugh, but Grant is playing hard to get. (Do you suppose he’s afraid of the wrath of Charlie Sheen?) Just last night Hugh backed away from the deal due to “creative differences,” but we think he’ll come to his senses.

CHUCK LORRE’S REVENGE: THE SHOW WILL GO ON WITHOUT CHARLIE SHEEN!

“Two and a Half Men” producer Chuck Lorre kept silent while Charlie Sheen ranted and raved and called him a “stupid little man,” a “maggot,” and worse. He didn’t respond, but he was apparently quietly and methodically planning his revenge. According to the Hollywood Reporter, Lorre has notified CBS, Warner Brothers, and Charlie’s costar John Cryer, that he has an idea that will save the show – it involves rebooting the script and hiring a new character. Everybody wants to see the highly profitable show back on the air so it’s almost certain to return – without Charlie. Although Charlie is still trying to worm his way back in, Lorre is anticipating that speculation and publicity about the new casting will steal Charlie’s thunder.

CBS IS HURTING WITHOUT “TWO AND A HALF MEN”

Charlie Sheen may be having his ups and downs on his concert tour, but he is sorely missed at CBS. This week “Mike & Molly,” which is also produced by Chuck Lorre, moved into the Monday time slot formerly occupied by “Two and a Half Men.” The show did okay, but viewership was DOWN 42% from what “Two and a Half Men” did at that time last year. So the network is not happy – it was, in fact, Warner Brothers who fired Charlie, not CBS. His fans want Charlie’s show back on the air (Above, his bodyguard Chuck Zito is keeping an eye on Charlie)

EGOS AND ETHICS ASIDE, CBS WANTS CHARLIE BACK UNDER HIS TERMS

The Charlie Sheen story took the biggest twist of all today. After Charlie filed suit against CBS for firing him, it LOOKED LIKE producers were thinking of recasting the show. But Charlie’s enduring popularity and ability to sell out concerts must have gotten them thinking they were fools to reject a cash cow – even a mad one. The only easy solution for all the bad press and lawsuits was to kiss and make up. Two and a half million dollars an episode for “Two and a Half Men” will certainly get Charlie’s attention. Chuck Lorre – the target of Charlie’s insults- will have to put his ego aside in the name of profits. Time to forget about taking the high road.

IS THERE ANY WAY CHARLIE SHEEN CAN MAKE IT BACK TO WORK ON TUESDAY?

The countdown has begun. ”Two and a Half Men” is resuming production Monday and Charlie Sheen is expected to show up for work Tuesday. But he’s on another bender and unraveling fast – his advisors are trying to stop him from buying multi-million dollar neighboring houses in Mulholland Estates for his two ex wives. Crack loving exwife Brooke Mueller has already moved back into his house along with a few porn stars. (The beginning of the “porn family?”) He went on an insane shopping spree and spent $900,000 on cars for pornstars along with a $160,000 Mercedes for Brooke. He packed up Brooke and the porn girls and left for the Bahamas (Brooke ditched him at some point.) He’s been calling radio shows from the Bahamas, badmouthing his producer Chuck Lorre, challenging him to a fight, and ranting and raving like a madman. But he INSISTS he will be back at work. We can hardly wait.
UPDATE: Apparently CBS executives finally got fed up with Charlie’s antics and cancelled the show for the season. Stay tuned for Charlie’s reaction!

CHARLIE SHEEN’S BAD HABITS DON’T INTERFERE WITH HIS WORK

Why should Charlie Sheen give up drugs or anything else? When he goes to Las Vegas he stays in the most expensive hotel room IN THE WORLD: the Hugh Hefner Sky Villa at the Palms Casino Resort which rents for $40,000 a night. It’s a great place to entertain porn stars. Charlie was in Las Vegas this weekend to socialize with his favorite porn stars at the Adult Entertainment Expo. He had nonstop visitors in the 10,000 sq ft suite which has a rotating round bed with mirrored ceiling, multiple bars and butlers, and an inside/outside jacuzzi with a view – full of naked girls. After a weekend of nonstop action Charlie managed to show up on the “Two and a Half Men” ready for work, and on time Tuesday. The best of both worlds.

Warner Brothers just made a truckload of money because Charlie Sheen was persuaded to do two more years of “Two and a Half Men.” It’s just been renewed for syndication for 7 more years for untold millions of dollars. The show is already the number one syndicated comedy and it’s expected to deliver for decades, like Friends or Seinfeld. That’s why Warner Brothers agreed to pay Sheen an astronomical 1.25 million per episode and ignore his personal problems. Does Charlie realize he might be the luckiest actor alive?

WHAT DO CHARLIE SHEEN AND CRIMINAL JOSEF FRITZL HAVE IN COMMON?

Austrian monster Josef Fritzl, 75, who’s serving a life sentence for rape, slavery, imprisonment, and negligent homicide, after locking his daughter in a dungeon and raping her for 24 years, gave a revealing interview to Germany’s Bild newspaper. While his sex slave daughter was imprisoned she gave birth to 7 children and one died. Bild reports that this fiend doesn’t acknowledge that he committed a crime and is convinced his daughter is kept from visiting him. He remains “arrogant and unrepentant.” Worst of all, he spends his days watching TV and his favorite show is “Two and a Half Men.” (Arrogant and unrepentant might be words used to describe Charlie Sheen also, on a much smaller scale, of course) Why is this evil criminal allowed the luxury of television?

Angus T Jones , (he just turned 17,) who plays the “Half” in “Two and a Half Men” has been actively trying to get himself a girlfriend for the past year. Lo and behold, it was recently announced that he’s the highest paid kid on TV- earning $300,000 per episode and pocketing a $500,000 signing bonus this year. The next thing we knew, he HAD a cute little girlfriend and he took her to an event at the Santa Monica pier. Happy at last.

GEORGE IS BRINGING THREE GENERATIONS OF HAMILTONS TO TV LAND

George Hamilton has created a reality show and it sounds a lot like “Two and a Half Men.” George is developing a “docusoap” for TV Land with the same producers who do “Keeping up with the Kardashians.” The show will document the lives of George, 70, and his older son Ashley, 35, (a standup comic) – they are perpetual bachelors in no hurry to grow up. Until, that is, George’s 10 year old son George Thomas (from George’s relationship with Kimberly Blackford) moves to LA to live with them. Will they take him to Mr Chow? Who will pick up the check? Insiders tell us that George and Ashley are living together because they’re both hurting for money, so this all makes sense.
