NICOLE KIDMAN'S MOVIE COMPANION

While her husband Keith Urban is in rehab, Nicole Kidman was seen at the Arclight theater in LA catching a Sunday matinee with another man. She and her good looking muscular companion saw Prestige and observers got very excited over the notion that she was two-timing her husband. At first the man was incorrectly identified as actor Adam Beach. A closer look revealed the guy to be her longtime friend, confidant, and driver David Garris. He’s been working with her since she was married to Tom Cruise, and has even appeared in several of her movies as a driver. He’ll probably be the one driving her to Betty Ford when she’s able to visit Keith.

TEN TENORS FROM AUSTRALIA

On Tuesday night The Ten Tenors show opened at the Pantages theater in Hollywood and we liked them WAY more than we expected to. They got a standing ovation when the ten Australian guys sang a tribute to Queen. And were we lucky to be seated in the third row next to the cutest acting couple – Meredith Eaton-Gilden and her husband Michael Gilden. She is currently enjoying success on Boston Legal as a lawyer and love interest to William Shatner‘s character. We asked her what it’s like to work with Shatner and she told us “his character is not politically correct, but HE is a delightful man. ” She LIKES him a lot. This diminutive actress has a masters degree in clinical psychology from Hofstra University. Michael is also a singer and they loved the Tenors show, but they skipped the after-party at Basque to go home and walk their two Pomeranians. We scooted down the street to Basque and met the cute Tenors who are staying at the Roosevelt Hotel for the run of the show. Girls wanting to meet the Australian guys might be advised to check out the show and later – the Tropicana bar, where they’re probably hanging out..

STOP PICKING ON MADONNA

We think Madonna is more of a HERO in this adoption situation than she’s getting credit for. Maybe it wasn’t a great idea to adopt a baby with a living parent, but as the baby’s father has said “If my son stayed here I would end up burying him.” Nobody’s talking about thirteen month old David’s health, but the fact is, he’s ill, and AIDS is quite probably the reason. The disease is ravaging Malawi and may have killed David’s mother. David is just recovering from PNEUMONIA , and according to Madonna, has not been tested for HIV. Madonna has always been a huge AIDS activist , so it makes sense for her to take in an HIV baby – a far bigger challenge than most adoptive parents face. She’s giving this sick child nobody else wants, a chance at a good life, so give her some credit!

KEITH URBAN: IN GOOD HANDS

Since Keith Urban checked into rehab, rumors have been swirling about where he might be, and whether Nicole Kidman is a frequent visitor. Naturally it’s a big secret, but the media has speculated that he might be at a place called Cumberland Heights Clinic in Tennesee because it’s close to his home. WE hear he’s actually checked into the old stand-by, Betty Ford in California. Urban’s management team is in Southern California and they probably joined up with Nicole to make it all happen. Since Betty Ford limits visitors during early treatment, we doubt whether Nicole is spending time with him yet. But she WILL.

POLE DANCING

Little did Demi Moore know what she would start with her 1996 movie Striptease. The film bombed but thanks to Hollywood, the stripper pole became an object of desire. Especially for women who want to get in shape AND become more seductive. Pamela Anderson installed a pole in her house and nightclubs like On the Rox followed suit. (Even guys like Lance Bass have taken a twirl on THAT one.) Upscale gyms all over LA installed poles for their strip classes for girls like Carmen Electra. The last straw was a shopping website (Tesco Direct) in the UK that added a stripper pole to the Toys and Games section of their website. For $75 you could buy your child an adjustable chrome stripper pole and garter and CD combo, promoted with the motto “Unleash the sex kitten inside.” Parents went BONKERS and got the offensive item removed from the site. We wonder what’s next – a stripper pole in the school gym?

TWO OF A KIND

Are we nuts or are Ashlee Simpson and Brooke Hogan morphing into the SAME person? A year ago they looked quite different, but lately we can hardly tell them apart. Do you suppose they have the same plastic surgeon? The same makeup artist? The same hair stylist? Surely those hair extensions came from the same donor. We find it creepy – isn’t ONE of these girls enough?

PROMISES PROMISES FOR MISCHA BARTON

Mischa Barton FINALLY got what she wanted – a ring from Cisco Adler! And it’s a whopping diamond. Mischa’s been flashing it to all her friends, saying “Look at my promise ring.” She wears it on her right hand so it’s not an engagement ring – yet. It’s a promise to get engaged. Actually it’s more of a “compromise ring.” Mischa has been hounding Cisco for a commitment – she wanted an engagement ring. Cisco wasn’t ready for THAT, but he didn’t want to lose her. He knew he had to do SOMETHING to make her happy, so he compromised and gave her the promise ring. For the time being, they’re BOTH smiling.

People who know Heather Mills are starting to wonder if she’ll ever be able to enjoy the money she’s trying to collect in her divorce settlement from Paul McCartney. Accusations of physical violence, drug abuse, and other bad behavior on his part have ENRAGED Paul’s many fans. Paul is considered an icon in the UK and he is one of the most adored citizens. Apparently Heather is in the process of writing a book to further trash the Beatle. Paul’s admirers don’t believe a word of her charges. Heather has already been bombarded with insults and threatening calls. Insiders feel this could just be the beginning – she is making herself so hated that her life could easily be in jeopardy. And she’ll have to spend plenty of money on bodyguards to keep the nutcases away.

ORLANDO BLOOM: LOVE PATS

Orlando Bloom has moved on from superskinny Kate Bosworth to ultra buff Jessica Biel. Kate looks like she can barely carry her handbag while we figure Jessica could bench press Orlando. The playful pair turned up at Hyde Saturday – Orlando wore his usual goofy hat and Jessica was dressed in a short black and white dress and boots. They were on a double date with Orlando’s Elizabethtown costar Kirsten Dunst and a friend of Orlando’s called Charlie. They danced and partied and Orlando couldn’t keep his hands off Jessica. Another clubgoer said “When he wasn’t smooching her or nuzzling her neck, he was patting her round bottom.” Must have felt good for a change.
