All Jennifer Love Hewitt ever wanted was a romantic Hawaiian vacation with her fianc�e Ross McCall. What she got was a nightmare after someone surreptitiously snapped unflattering photos of Jennifer’s bottom in a bikini. They were enlarged and plastered all over the internet and magazines with outrageously insulting comments. She’s not the first actress to be embarrassed like this, but why does it only happen to white women? We’ve never seen a black actress like Halle Berry insulted for having an ample bottom. (Tyra Banks had her battle with “fat” photos because she was a model.) THAT would be considered bad taste. So why is it okay to humiliate a perfectly nice girl with a better than average figure like Jennifer? Let’s stop being so MEAN to each other!

I agree that Halle Berry is in another league totally. Halle has a perfectly shaped figure. Her butt and thighs appear from this picture to be in proportion to her body. She looks fabulous! Also, in America for so long black women were seen as unnattractive and the standard of beauty was white, blonde hair and blue eyes. Now, finally the American definition of beauty is starting to evolve to include those other than white, blonde and blue eyed. Black women were not even seen in magazines or tv commericials. There have always been beautiful women from all ethnic groups! I do not understand why Hollywood and the fashion industry is so obsessed with females being a size 0 when the average size of an American women is 14. Love-Hewett got slammed because her body is in terrible shape. She has a big ass, “love” handles (pun intended), and unattractive thighs. She gets paid irrational amounts of money for her minimal talent and for that, we have to look at her bovine hips on TV, magazine, and the internet. People of African and Latin American decent love curves. They celebrate them. The (white) beauty industry has told women they are supposed to be a size 2 and that fat is bad. Although I’m not a fan, Beyonce body is celebrated in the African American community, because she maintains her curves. As long as you stick Nicole Kidman, Renee Z, Jennifer Aniston, and a host of Hollywood stars on the magazine covers, and hold them up as the ideal, women like Jennifer Love Hewitt will continued to be ridiculed.

First, beauty is always subjective and the standards for it have covered the spectrum of human experience.
Second, an “unflattering” photograph is almost always the result of an unflattering subject. A good rule of thumb is to always strive for clothing that FITS your body.
