Halle Berry is asking for trouble. She’s pictured here walking around Paris looking awfully happy, with her “Dark Tide” costar Olivier Martinez, his dog and her friend Salma Hayek and her daughter. Halle and Olivier finished their movie, Halle flew back to LA for a week and then returned to Paris to see Olivier. Trouble is, the charming Martinez is something of a playboy and has romanced a number of famous women (including Kylie Minogue, Angelina Jolie, Mira Sorvino, and models Elsa Pataky and Rosie Huntington-Whiteley.) Odds are not in Halle’s favor for a long term relationship, so hopefully she’s keeping that in mind.

We knew Salma Hayek was tiny, but she REALLY looks petite in the photo taken when she appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live. Salma is wearing eight inch sky high platform heels and she’s STILL the shortest one by FAR in the picture! No matter- she married well (billionaire Francois-Henri Pinault) so she’ll never have to worry about her lack of height, or much of anything else for that matter.

Salma Hayek and her billionaire husband Francois-Henri Pinault look genuinely happy as they take a walk with their daughter Valentina in St Tropez. And why shouldn’t they? Francois isn’t just some rich older guy. Salma and Valentina never have to worry about shopping again because daddy owns Balenciaga. And fact is, Francois at 46 is only four years older than Salma, so they’re not a bad match.

Last weekend Salma Hayek invited family members together for an unusually serious lunch. Now we know why. She obviously announced to them that her engagement to the father of her child, billionaire Francois Henri-Pinault, had been called off. No wedding. Not all that surprising considering their abrupt relationship. Still, if you’re going to have a baby without marriage it’s nice to give your child a wealthy father. After the lunch, Salma cheered herself up with some shoe shopping with little Valentina.

SALMA HAYEK AND PENELOPE CRUZ: FRIENDS INDEED

We were really annoyed by those rumors about Salma Hayek and Penelope Cruz being MORE than just friends simply because they like to hang out together. Hey, they’re not gay, they’re FRIENDS! And apparently Salma is really a standup girl and loyal to people she cares about. Salma has been tirelessly campaigning and verbally supporting both Penelope and another friend –Adrianna Barraza– to get them award show recognition, and hopefully Oscar nominations. Salma feels that Penelope’s role in Volver and Adrianna’s supporting role in Babel both deserve Hollywood’s attention and she promotes them at every opportunity. Not many actresses go to bat for other actresses like that.
