We almost didn’t recognize Serena Williams in this photo from New York – she looks fantastic! Serena has always loved fashion but it didn’t always love her. On the tennis court this champ amused the crowd with some zany outfits and when she dressed up, she wore shiny, tight fitting clothes that didn’t flatter her muscular physique. (Hate to say it, but sometimes she looked like a man in a dress!) Speaking of which, we’re thinking she cut back on steroids or SOMETHING because her body is still strong, but way more feminine and sleek.

We wouldn’t recognize this guy if we saw him on the street, but today he’s on the street filming a movie in Brooklyn so you know it’s someone familiar. Justin Timberlake got a makeover – or a makeunder- to star in his new movie “Inside Llewyn Davis.” He plays a folksinger/songwriter seeking success in the beatnik world of New York in the 60’s. Hence the beard and haircut.

Whether you’ve ever seen the TLC reality show “Toddlers and Tiaras” doesn’t matter – this photo from the Anderson Cooper show is priceless. Anderson’s show staffers gave the four most famous stage mothers from the show “pageant“ makeovers in outfits just like their daughters favorite competition costumes. Cooper was trying to make the women think differently about the questionable way they dress up their little girls, but that didn’t happen. The little girls laughed at their moms and the mothers laughed at themselves, but there were no regrets.

Jennifer Lopez has started dressing her young boyfriend so he looks more like a man than a boy. She has obviously taken Casper Smart shopping and picked out some better clothes for him. Gone are the hip hop duds – baseball caps, hoodies, and sneakers – at least for now. Casper has a distinctly upscale look in his red trench coat as the fashionable couple arrives at their New York hotel.

Rooney Mara grew back her eyebrows, washed off her tattoos and plucked out the piercings her character Lisbeth Salander sported in “Girl with the Dragon Tattoo.” The result: she looked almost virginal at the London premier. Her white Givenchy couture gown was both sexy and innocent – Rooney obviously doesn’t want to be typecast as a Goth outcast. Her movie is expected to be a Christmas blockbuster despite the dark subject matter.

Yikes! Kathy Griffin wasn’t exaggerating when she said she’s had tons of plastic surgery! We just saw these photos of Kathy from her 1976 yearbook and we wouldn’t have recognized her in a million years! Teenage Kathy was a cheerleader in high school and we’re betting she was loads of fun, but she was no beauty queen. When she was 26 she got her first nose job and started the self – improvement ball rolling. We have to give her credit for making herself over – at 51 she looks much better than she did as a teen!

Sinead O’Connor came to her senses and realized that looking like a matronly former nun would not help her reputation as a controversial personality and singer. In 1992, Saturday Night Live producers and viewers were shocked (believe it or not) when Sinead tore up a photo of the pope and threw the pieces at the camera in protest of sexual abuse in the Catholic church. (Good for her!) Her obstinate spirit and shaved head gave her the rebellious reputation. So when she turned up 20 years later looking ordinary, her career seemed doomed. But she took a good look in the mirror and shaved her head again and added a big Jesus tattoo on her chest. She HAD to do something, she has a new album coming out in February!

Makeover Ray Liotta Weight

RAY LIOTTA GAVE HIMSELF A MAKEOVER

Last summer Ray Liotta, 56, was at The Grove with his daughter, looking like just another chubby guy. But what a difference a few movies makes! Soon after that he started filming “The Place Beyond the Pines” with Ryan Gosling and he whipped himself right back into shape. Ray admits that only doing a movie gives him the incentive to work out. He showed up at a recent awards show looking like his old “Goodfellas” self.
