KAT VON D AND HER FASHIONABLE GOTH BABY

No chance of THIS baby getting a suntan! Tattoo artist Kat Von D, 36, gave birth to a boy Leafar, four months ago. Kat’s husband, artist /musician Leafar Seyer, was born Rafael Reyes, and turned his name backward. (He is credited with creating “Cholo goth” music.) Kat has a very fancy black stroller for little Leafar and we wonder if he has black diapers…

KAT VON D AND HER SUMMER GOTH LOOK

It’s not easy being Goth AND pregnant during LA’s very hot summer so far. Kat Von D has a vast wardrobe of black clothes to choose from but they can’t be very cool and comfortable. The tattoo artist/makeup entrepreneur, 36, is expecting her first baby – a boy- with her new husband, musician Rafael Reyes. The couple announced that their boy will be getting NO vaccinations – doesn’t sound like a great idea to US…

HOW DID THEY TALK CHER INTO PLAYING MERYL STREEP’S MOTHER IN MAMMA MIA: HERE WE GO AGAIN?

Mamma Mia: Here We Go Again had an impressive premier in London with all the stars – old and new. The crowd gave Cher a particularly loud ovation- she plays Meryl Streep’s mother in the film – and she’s only three years older in real life! (Back in the day, Meryl and Cher costarred in Silkwood.) This follow-up of the original 2008 movie goes back in time with Downton Abbey’s Lily James playing Meryl Streep‘s character as a young girl. Cher confessed she was afraid her voice was all wrong to sing Abba songs, but it all worked out, and she pulled on her best Goth look for the opening night.

THE GOTHBURGER: HOW THE OTHER HALF LIVES

Marilyn Manson is going to love this. Burger King in Japan apparently has much more of a sense of humor than they do here. They are introducing what looks like a “Goth Burger “ in which the ingredients are colored black with squid ink. There’s a plain version for hardcore Goths, and one with “the works.” Hamburger competition in Japan must be fierce. We came upon the information at one of our favorite websites, Dangerous Minds, and felt compelled to pass it on to you.

SANDRA BULLOCK GOES GOTH!

Maybe Gravity star Sandra Bullock has been going to so many award shows lately that she needed to try something new. So she devised a Goth look (described as “morbid fashion influenced by Victorian and punk”) for the Director’s Guild Awards. Black hair, blood red lips, and black nails complimented her very pale complexion and long black dress. Striking, but actually we prefer her usual girl-next-door look.

THE UNLIKEABLE SEAN PENN HAS MADE A LIKEABLE MOVIE

Okay, so we’re not huge fans of Sean Penn, but sometimes we really like his work and the trailer for his new movie “This Must Be The Place “ has tickled our fancy. Penn plays an aging wealthy goth rockstar (think Robert Smith) ) living a boring life in Dublin until his estranged father dies back in America. He hasn’t seen his father in 30 years but the rocker flies to the USA to settle the estate, and he learns his father was tormented by an SS officer during the holocaust and the Nazi might still be alive in America. He sets out to find him and has many adventures in the process. Why are the plots of independent films so much more interesting than blockbusters?

ROONEY MARA: WHAT’S THE OPPOSITE OF GOTH? VIRGINAL WHITE!

Rooney Mara grew back her eyebrows, washed off her tattoos and plucked out the piercings her character Lisbeth Salander sported in “Girl with the Dragon Tattoo.” The result: she looked almost virginal at the London premier. Her white Givenchy couture gown was both sexy and innocent – Rooney obviously doesn’t want to be typecast as a Goth outcast. Her movie is expected to be a Christmas blockbuster despite the dark subject matter.
