Mariah Carey wants you to know that she CAN carry her 13 month old twin babies Monroe and Moroccan AND wear high heels without help from anyone! She had a photo of herself taken as she walked into an office building and released it on Twitter. Of course, we suspect there is a group of nannies and bodyguards trailing behind her, just out of the picture.

It takes three men to get Mariah Carey down the stairs safely in her high heels. Nick Cannon, who’s holding up the rear, hosted an event to raise money for Project Canvas, a creative arts program that Nick and Mariah founded to “nurture optimism among youths.” Besides the Cannons, celebrities including Ellen DeGeneres, Mr Brainwash, and Cee Lo Green, designed sneakers that were auctioned off to raise money. Nick wore his sneakers but Mariah refused.

Oops! Christina Aguilera has a problem keeping her balance – in this case she stumbled over a curb on her way INTO a party at the Sunset Marquis. (We’re more accustomed to seeing her trip on the way OUT.) Fortunately she can always depend on her stalwart boyfriend Matthew Rutler, to keep her upright. Everybody in heels needs a boyfriend like this.

Perhaps inspired by Shauna Sand, Courtney Stodden, 17, has perfected the fine art of walking on a sandy beach in 8 inch stripper heels. She towers over her 5’ 6” husband Doug Hutchinson, 51. Since the mismatched couple married last year Courtney has had more TV appearances than her actor husband. Doug has had only one minor acting job since they married – he’s concentrating on managing Courtney’s career. Which of course involves endless bikini photo shoots in which Doug appears as a prop. We wonder if Doug is creating a “monster” who will eventually turn against him…
Here’s something to perk you up on a rainy day in Hollywood. Madonna is determined to prove she’s still in amazing shape and her “Girl Gone Wild” video illustrates the fact. A whole lotta sexy guys – some of them dancing furiously in black tights (mantyhose?) and stilettos. The gender bending dancers are a Ukrainian group called Karazy and you haven’t seen the last of them.

There’s something about men who wear lifts in their shoes that tickles our fancy. Simon Cowell wanted to make sure that nobody could see what kind of heels he was wearing for his show Britain’s Got Talent auditions, so he let down the hem of his jeans. The raggedy hem dragged on the ground but did successfully cover the built up heels on his shoes. But not EVERYBODY was fooled!
Brace yourself. Those insanely high heels that make women feel powerful are starting to look good to men. Young men, anyway. In LA, fads like this start in gay clubs and may or may not go mainstream. Singers like Adam Lambert are likely to jump on the high heel bandwagon first. In the 70’s, rock stars like Mick Jagger and Rod Stewart didn’t hesitate to wear women’s clothes with platform shoes, but rockers today are more macho so it remains to be seen if Kanye West will experiment with heels.
The fact that Victoria Beckham is having back problems takes a back seat to the fact that she CANNOT WEAR HIGH HEELS! Victoria has a slipped disc that her recent pregnancy made worse and her doctor advised her NOT to further jeopardize her aching back by wearing heels. Next month she has to be at New York’s Fashion week for the first time wearing flat shoes. She was seen wearing pair of Amy Winehouse style ballet flats when she went out with her husband David recently, but she’s worried about Fashion Week. (She’s going to look very short!) Fortunately she has friends in high places and Christian Louboutin is designing some flat shoes just for her – with red soles, of course.
Short celebrities can’t get enough of Christian Louboutin’s dazzling high heels with the red soles. Lady Gaga, (see photo above) Victoria Beckham, Katy Perry, Penelope Cruz, Sarah Jessica Parker, Beyonce and the Kardashians are all addicted to the brand. So when the English National Ballet needed to raise funds, they asked Louboutin to design a pair of shoes to be auctioned off. He produced these ballet inspired eight inch heels made of silk and covered with crystals. We think the celebrity most likely to buy them is Gaga, and she’ll probably wear them rather than frame them.
Little did Danielle Staub of The Real Housewives of New Jersey realize what a firestorm of outrage her comments about the singer Prince would activate. In an interview with Steppin’ Out magazine, Staub, who has been described as a former stripper and call girl, alleged that she had a fling with the diminutive singer in her younger years. She called him “the best kisser in the world” and went on to say “When you’re lying down you’re all the same height. Plus he wore HEELS.” Yes, Prince wears heels in bed. He has custom made high heeled bedroom slippers and his other girlfriends have verified this. Princes’ fans are appalled by Danielle’s claims and they want to know the truth.
