We agree that women ARE held to impossible standards of beauty and that young girls should be encouraged to be proud of their education and accomplishment above their appearance. So we’re confused about curvy model Ashley Graham. She encourages women of all sizes to feel beautiful – but why? Having confidence doesn’t come naturally to women, but it should depend on way more than just LOOKS. And that goes for both sexes.

LENA DUNHAM DONS A BIKINI FOR CHARITY

We thought Lena Dunham was brave when she wore that too-tight jogging outfit for “Girls,” but she topped herself when she turned up on the Hamptons beach in this teeny bikini. And her “cover-up” really doesn’t. She nonchalantly did several interviews on the sand. Let’s face it, more people look like Lena in a bikini than Jessica Alba. And Lena was there for a good reason – the Paddle for Pink charity event raising money for the Breast Cancer Research Foundation. And that’s what really counts.

LEANN RIMES: THE BIG COVER-UP!

Wow- it’s not often you see LeAnn Rimes wearing a beach cover-up! She usually struts around in her string bikinis whenever she’s close to water. She’s catching some rays in Miami Beach before her next show in Fort Pearce, Florida. You’d think she’d go unrecognized on the beach with that gauzy coverup but the paparazzi and then the tourists spotted her, so she and her assistant ducked inside her hotel and went to the pool bar for a glass of wine.

LeAnn Rimes arrived at LAX and she was outraged when paparazzi that she didn’t hire, surrounded her with cameras. She prefers to set up photo ops and have photographers follow her around and shoot pix when she’s wearing a bikini on vacation. She’s always made up and photo ready. Apparently she can’t get enough swimsuit photos into circulation. She doesn’t look so hot when she gets off a plane, so she hides behind her hair and other people. Perhaps inspired by Shauna Sand, Courtney Stodden, 17, has perfected the fine art of walking on a sandy beach in 8 inch stripper heels. She towers over her 5’ 6” husband Doug Hutchinson, 51. Since the mismatched couple married last year Courtney has had more TV appearances than her actor husband. Doug has had only one minor acting job since they married – he’s concentrating on managing Courtney’s career. Which of course involves endless bikini photo shoots in which Doug appears as a prop. We wonder if Doug is creating a “monster” who will eventually turn against him…

WHY IS LEANN RIMES ALWAYS WEARING A BIKINI?

Somebody who really DOES love her body is definitely LeAnn Rimes. It’s almost ridiculous how often she’s photographed in a bikini and it’s the middle of winter. Apparently she goes on vacation to a warm climate every month. And she wears a bikini at all times – even when her husband Eddie Cibrian is fully dressed. Coincidentally or not, there is always a photographer present at her obscure vacation spot to document her parade of bikinis. She does look great, but we wonder if she‘s sending some kind of “look at me” message to Eddie’s ex wife Brandi Glanville.
