KYLIE JENNER HASN’T LOST HER TASTE FOR FREEBIES

Kylie Jenner has a habit of showing off expensive items that she acquires on Instagram, and some of her fans are offended, claiming that it’s rude to ostentatiously display one’s wealth. Kylie’s little boy was born in February and his name is still a secret along with his FACE. That’s unusual because PR hungry Kylie loves sharing photos of her daughter Stormi and herself. Recently she posted a picture of her son’s designer sneaker collection- which is ironic, because at 6 months he isn’t able to walk yet! Some of the tiny sneakers sell for $250 a pair. The REAL reason Kylie is flaunting the shoes is that she hopes manufacturers will thank her for the free publicity by sending her lots of FREE sneakers…

JAMIE FOXX GIVES HIMSELF A FEW INCHES

Okay, sometimes we get a little carried away when it comes to men’s fashion – but it’s always a revealing and interesting subject. Take this photo of Jamie Foxx, for example. Jamie loves fashion and we appreciate the colorful fleece jacket, plaid shirt, and jeans that he wore for dinner at Catch. But a close look at the 54 year old actor’s shoes is what tickled our fancy. Apparently being 5’8” is not enough for Jamie- he is wearing built-up wedgie sneakers that give him an extra 2 1/2 or 3 inches of height. Maybe he picked up a few tips about height enhancement from an expert when he costarred with Tom Cruise in Collateral

RIHANNA: THESE BOOTS ARE MADE FOR RUNNING

Rihanna braved a New York snowstorm Sunday night to meet her beau ASAP Rocky for dinner. We couldn’t help but notice her footwear- a cross between cowboy boots and sneakers. The first designer to bravely merge cowboys and sports was Tony Lama back in 1984 and they were described as surprisingly comfortable. The late Virgil Abloh designed Rihanna’s cowboy sneakers this year for Louis Vuitton – in fact it was one of his last creations. That means these boots are probably collectors items…

SIMON COWELL AND HIS HIGH HEEL SNEAKERS

Interesting to see that Simon Cowell has joined Tom Cruise in the built-up sneakers club. Okay, we’re a little obsessed by male celebrities who wear lifts in their shoes. But it IS a fascinating subject. We are very familiar with Simon’s cowboy boots with heels and lifts inside, but we hadn’t noticed his elevator sneakers. Sylvester Stallone was the FIRST celebrity we encountered who had lifts in his custom sneakers back in the 80’s. He may have even been the FIRST ever to do it. (He was also furious when we wrote about it!) Since then, male celebrities have them custom made quite frequently. Simon wore his for a charity walk he went on with Lauren Silverman – they raised money for Shooting Star Children’s Hospices in the UK. A nice gesture…

SNEAKERS, NOT MUSIC, MADE KANYE WEST A MULTI-BILLIONAIRE

By far the most appalling news we’ve heard this week is the fact that Kanye West, the most self-congratulatory performer of all time, couldn’t get elected President, but is now the wealthiest black person in US history! (Yes, he is the third richest celebrity in the world – even surpassing Oprah! ) It’s appalling because Kanye’s already out-of-control ego will no doubt soar to new heights. His Yeezy deal with Adidas earned Kanye far more money than his music catalog, and his Gap deal added to that. He also owns a big chunk of Kim’s SKIMS company. Since they had an iron-clad prenup, she will NOT be walking off with half his fortune. Kanye is already fond of comparing himself to Picasso and describing himself as a genius. Actually, he was smart to move to Wyoming, which has low taxes and NO state tax – whatever he is building there will be closely watched by other envious rappers. Whether Kanye does significant things with his money remains to be seen…

VICTORIA BECKHAM: NOT A GOOD SPORT?

Reebok had a party in New York celebrating their Reebok x Victoria Beckham collaboration of sneakers and athletic apparel for women. Victoria arrived looking like THIS. WHY did she wear her usual platform stilettos and party clothes instead of her own Reebok sneakers and tights? Paparazzi mobbed her coming and going, and photos of her in her workout designs would be everywhere. (You would be looking at them now) A surprisingly obvious missed opportunity. Oh, and it would have been nice to have Sporty Spice involved…

PAUL STANLEY: WHAT TOOK SO LONG?

KISS frontman Paul Stanley has always been the artistic one – he not only paints, but through the years he designed stages, album covers, clothing, and shoes for the glam rock band. So it makes sense that he’d collaborate with Puma and design some shoes for their Suede collection. He introduced his animal print sneakers at the Fashion Show Mall in Las Vegas. And they’re affordable – $110 to $160.

Kanye West walked out of his Soho apartment dressed exactly like a burglar, all in black, with a hoodie, EXCEPT for his expensive designer sneakers. He’s on his way to a presentation event for his Yeezy sneaker collection for Adidas. Kanye’s sneakers sell for around $350, but they are limited editions (9000 pairs produced) so the value goes way UP. Expect to see them on eBay for $10,000! That white pair looks like it will add a few inches of height!

ARE YOU OFFENDED BY THESE JEREMY SCOTT ADIDAS?

We don’t usually got excited about sneakers but these Adidas designed by Jeremy Scott stopped us in our tracks. Our first thought was – what a great way to keep your shoes from being stolen! But when the photo appeared on Facebook, commenters accused the shoes of being offensive to African Americans because the chains remind one of slavery. What a shame – the shoe was set to come out in August, but now production of the design has been cancelled. You Facebook people have no sense of humor!

NICK CANNON WATCHES EVERY STEP HIS PRECIOUS MARIAH TAKES

#mariahcarey

It takes three men to get Mariah Carey down the stairs safely in her high heels. Nick Cannon, who’s holding up the rear, hosted an event to raise money for Project Canvas, a creative arts program that Nick and Mariah founded to “nurture optimism among youths.” Besides the Cannons, celebrities including Ellen DeGeneres, Mr Brainwash, and Cee Lo Green, designed sneakers that were auctioned off to raise money. Nick wore his sneakers but Mariah refused.
