BEN AFFLECK’S GIRLFRIEND AND HIS KIDS HAVE A MUTUAL INTEREST

We know this is a serious romance because Ben Affleck is introducing his girlfriend Ana de Armas to his kids. Luckily they have something in common: they all love dogs. Ana has Ben’s little boy Sam walking HER fluffy white dog (note the leash wrapped around his arm for safety.) Ben is walking his black dog, and his daughters Seraphina and Violet are walking the family dog. Canines seem to be playing an important role in this pandemic.

#MeToo Denial Dogs Jeremy Piven Sexual Misconduct

THE STRANGE CASE OF JEREMY PIVEN

We absolutely LOVED Jeremy Piven’s series Mr Selfridge so we were disappointed when he was accused of sexual misconduct (some of it quite appalling) by several women. Piven jauntily called himself “collateral damage of #MeToo, and angrily denied everything. He even took – and passed- a lie detector test to clear himself. But when no less than 8 totally separate women came forward with misconduct claims that were eerily similar, his series, Wisdom of the Crowd, was cancelled. That absolute denial of ALL charges seemed to cook his goose. He’s still in denial, but doing okay – he’s been performing stand-up successfully and has no less that 5 films in postproduction.

Covid-19 Dogs Isolation Oprah

IS OPRAH TAKING ISOLATION TOO FAR?

Okay, we can understand Oprah being extremely careful and isolating her boyfriend Stedman Graham to the guesthouse for two weeks after his European trip. After all, Oprah has been sick with pneumonia recently and still has discomfort. But we have to seriously question her decision to isolate her cocker spaniel Sadie after a trip to the vet. Wouldn’t a sudsy bath have been ENOUGH to clean up the poor pup? There are no known cases of a human catching Covid-19 from a pet. (Most people would rather isolate their spouse than the family dog!) Oprah is setting a weird precedent – at least we can assume Sadie is being waited on hand and foot by Oprah’s employees.

Daughter Dogs Hugh Jackman

WHAT IT’S LIKE TO HAVE WOLVERINE FOR A DAD

Hugh Jackman seems to have a close relationship with his 14 year old daughter Ava, who’s wearing her pajama bottoms here. Through the years we’ve watched Ava gradually grow up in photos of them chatting and walking the same two dogs in their New York neighborhood. Note they are both masked, although NY streets are nearly deserted. Ava has banned her dad from watching her dance class perform – the last time he attended, the girls got way too excited and mobbed him in the audience. Even movie stars can embarrass their kids…

Courteney Cox Dogs Paparazzi

COURTENEY COX HAS NEW RESPECT FOR PAPARAZZI

We cannot let this Courteney Cox story about her dogs escaping from her property and running loose on busy Pacific Coast Highway in Malibu go by without comment. Courtney was desperately chasing her pups on the street when a paparazzo happened to be driving by and noticed her dilemma. The unidentified guy leaped out of his car and blocked traffic, chased down the Cavalier Spaniels and rescued them. The incident was captured on his dashcam so the guy got an unexpected scoop. We would like to know WHO this guy is – he deserves some praise. Paparazzi get a bad rap from a lot of celebs but they happen to be perfectly nice people just doing their jobs. As a reporter chasing stories, I found them to be really likeable and helpful. Their hours can be long and tedious, but they make actors MORE famous and in-demand. Can you imagine the internet with no paparazzi pix? Let’s give them a little respect.

Dogs Long Time No See Sean Young

SEAN YOUNG: LONG TIME NO SEE!

Back in the 80’s, former model Sean Young was one of the hottest -and most notorious- stars in Hollywood. She starred in Blade Runner with Harrison Ford and had that famous love scene in a limo with Kevin Costner in No Way Out. But it was her famous feud with James Woods that led to lawsuits and crazy accusations about disfigured dolls left on a doorstep that delighted tabloid journalists and dismantled her promising career. Sean was outspoken, and perhaps before her time, but she was labeled as “unstable” and jobs became scarce. Despite her problems, and a stint on Dr Drew’s Celebrity Rehab, her friends say Sean, 59, has a “good heart,” which is illustrated by her love for animals. She lives in Arizona now with her husband, composer Robert Lujan, and has a houseful of pets.

Disney Dogs Lady and the Tramp

LADY AND THE TRAMP ARE NOW REAL LIVE DOGS

This photo was all we needed to fall in love with the idea of a live-action Lady and the Tramp. We loved the original 1955 animated version, but these two acting dogs make the movie even better. Both pooches were rescues – Lady is a sweet Cocker Spaniel voiced by Tessa Thompson, and Tramp is a stray street-smart Schnauzer voiced by Justin Theroux. Opposites attract – when the two dogs meet they join forces for a big adventure and make new friends like Trusty the Bloodhound played by Sam Elliott, and Peg the Pekinese voiced by Janelle Monae. Disney hopes you’ll watch the film at home with your dog on their new cable channel.

Courtney Love Dogs

THE CURRENT OBJECT OF COURTNEY LOVE’S AFFECTION

Courtney Love has always been a little dog crazy – through the years we’ve seen her cuddling many different breeds. But they seem to disappear and are soon replaced by a new model. Hopefully that has nothing to do with the fact that her daughter Frances Cobain once accused her of “reckless behavior that led to her dog and cat’s death.” She seems very attached to this cutie and took the pooch to Los Angeles for a visit. Reportedly the little dog could use some training – it made quite a disturbance yapping and running wild at a Sunset Strip café where Courtney was dining, unfazed by all the fuss.

Dogs Mickey Rourke Mulberry Street Pizzeria

MICKEY ROURKE LIKES HIS FRIENDS, BUT HE LOVES HIS DOGS

Mickey Rourke remains one of the most colorful actors around, so when we see him we love to share photos. Mickey had lunch at Mulberry Pizza in Beverly Hills with a bunch of friends who seem far more interested in their phones than the company. Despite his hair challenges and other eccentricities, we’re happy to see Mickey working steadily since his first film, Diner. He averages two or three movies a year (not exactly A-list) but he earns more than enough to keep his collection of dogs well fed. (Remember, in 2009 when Mickey accepted his Best Actor Golden Globe for The Wrestler, he thanked his dogs!)

SURI CRUISE DIDN’T LEARN HER GOOD MANNERS FROM HER FATHER

Suri Cruise is thrilled with her little dog- she’s been wanting one for a long time. Obviously she has been well brought up because she picks up after her pooch in a Brooklyn park. Suri has her mother Katie Holmes to thank for the good manners AND her pup, she hasn’t seen her Scientologist father Tom Cruise in years…
