BRAD PITT AND CLARK GABLE HAVE SOMETHING IN COMMON

When we first saw Brad Pitt with Ana de Armas on the red carpet for the Marilyn Monroe movie Blonde, we thought he might be playing Clark Gable in the film. Turns out he was the producer, but it would have been good casting. There IS a resemblance and Brad is the same age Clark was when he starred in The Misfits with Marilyn. It’s rumored that Monroe contributed to Gable’s death. She kept him waiting day after day in the hot sun on location for the western, while she fretted in her dressing room. When the movie wrapped, Gable said “I’m glad this picture is finished – she damn near gave me a heart attack.” The NEXT day he DID have a heart attack, and he died ten days later at the age of 58…

ANA DE ARMAS: UNLIKELY BUT ADORABLE MARILYN MONROE

We had never heard of Ana de Armas, 34, until Ben Affleck started dating her during the pandemic. In 2019, Knives Out was released and she made quite a splash. She met Ben when they filmed Deep Water in 2020 and they seemed to spend every day together afterward until they drifted apart in 2021. It was quite an accomplishment when this Cuban/Spanish actress was cast to play Marilyn Monroe in the Netflix feature Blonde, described as a “psychological drama.” Certainly it was easier for her to LOOK like Marilyn than to imitate her breathy American accent. The movie’s director says he aims to show what it felt like to BE Marilyn. Ana posted the above photo from the film – Bobby Cannavale plays her husband, the baseball star Joe DiMaggio.

Ana de Armas Ben Affleck Dunkin' Donuts

BEN AFFLECK: COFFEE FOR ONE

Newly single Ben Affleck seemed to be in a playful mood as he picked up a heap of packages delivered to his house on Saturday. Notice that he did not stop drinking his Dunkin’ Donuts coffee while he retrieved the parcels. Ben either goes OUT for Dunkin’ Donuts coffee or has it delivered every morning. Since he and Ana de Armas split, it has been coffee for one. But insiders say it MIGHT not be over between them for good. They are still friendly and Ana is shopping for a place to live in West Hollywood because she has several movies lined up filming here. Her home base is still Cuba where her family lives.

WE SAW IT FIRST: BEN AFFLECK AND ANA DE ARMAS SPLIT

Readers will recall that we posted this photo of Ana de Armas alone with her dog in New York’s Central Park back in November. The obviously missing element was Ben Affleck. Where WAS he? Ben, 48, and Ana, 32, had been inseparable – quarantining together for most of 2020. They were photographed all summer coming and going from Ben’s home in Brentwood- riding bikes and walking their dogs. Sometimes with Ben’s kids. Both their careers were on hold for the pandemic. When fall arrived, work rules loosened up and opportunities opened up. Ana realized she didn’t want to settle down in California – she had places to go where Ben had already been. Her career is super HOT right now and she needs her freedom. Ben understands and they are both resigned to the inevitable.

Ah, this is the life! It’s Sunday morning and all Ben Affleck has to do is open his gate and his coffee and donuts are waiting outside his Pacific Palisades home, courtesy of Dunkin’ Donuts. Ben’s life is SO good lately that he could afford to turn DOWN a Batman movie – partly on the advice of his pal George Clooney. George then offered Ben the lead in a film he’s producing called The Tender Bar, and it looks like Ben has accepted. Right now Ben is finishing Dark Water, in which he costars with his girlfriend Ana de Armas. We’re guessing Ana is inside that gate waiting to have coffee with Ben…

Come to think of it- it’s been WEEKS since we’ve seen a photo of Ben Affleck and his true love Ana de Armas walking their dogs together in Brentwood or Venice. They’ve been inseparable since they met in 2019 working on a film together. The happy couple isolated together during pandemic and for months they were seen looking affectionate, exercising with their dogs or riding bikes together EVERY day. Abruptly in the middle of October that stopped. This week Ana posted a new photo of just herself and her beloved dog in Central Park in New York. No sign of Ben. Not sure WHY she’s there …

Ben Affleck, 48, must have been pleasantly surprised when he learned that he’s now living with a Vogue cover girl! Ben met Ana de Armas, 32, last November when they filmed Dark Water together, and they’ve been inseparable ever since. You probably remember Ana from her starring role in Knives Out. The Cuban-Spanish actress recently gave up her Venice apartment to move into Ben’s house. HAPPIEST PANDEMIC COUPLE: BEN AND ANA

For months we have seen photos of Ben Affleck and his girlfriend Ana de Armas walking their dogs together every morning and afternoon like clockwork. Sometimes one of them would be walking both their dogs. Most surprisingly, despite doing the same thing day after day, they didn’t get tired of it- or each other. They seem just as infatuated with each other as they were back in March. It’s certain that social isolation didn’t break up THIS relationship. All the grey is even out of Ben’s hair and beard!

A JOKE FOR BEN AFFLECK?

Here’s a puzzle: This cute cardboard cut-out of Ana de Armas was furtively placed in front of Ben Affleck’s Brentwood house by one of his daughters, who ran home giggling afterward. Ben’s daughters seem quite fond of Ana and spend considerable time with her and their dad, so it’s NOT a negative gesture and it’s not Ana’s birthday. Certainly it was a fun surprise for Ben.

It’s apparent that Ben Affleck is in the mood to get back to work as things are starting to open up in Los Angeles. We can tell because Ben’s hair and beard are a lot less grey and considerably darker. So maybe he’s gearing up for filming – he has a full schedule of movies waiting for a green light.
