AND THE REAL WINNER IS: SELMA BLAIR

When Charlie Sheen started unraveling again and insisted on firing his Anger Management costar Selma Blair, his producers had no choice but to release her. They still owe 50 more episodes to FX and would lose a lot of money if Charlie quit. But don’t feel sorry for Selma – she dodged a bullet. Selma will be paid for her entire contract and won’t have to put up with Charlie every day! Producers didn’t’ make a fuss about paying her in full because she knows SO much dirt on Charlie. So while everybody is walking on eggshells around the Anger Management set for fear of riling up Charlie, Selma is happily playing with her little boy Arthur in the park.

CAN SELMA BLAIR FIND A WAY TO SAVE HER “ANGER MANAGEMENT” JOB?

You can’t help but feel sympathy for Selma Blair who is now the object of Charlie Sheen’s rage. Selma, who costars on the FX sitcom Anger Management with Charlie, foolishly complained to producers about Charlie’s lateness and questionable work ethic. According to TMZ, Charlie heard about it and blew a fuse – how DARE she gripe about the STAR of the show? He wants her FIRED immediately and refuses to work with her. He even raved insanely about hiring Mila Kunis for a million dollars an episode. Poor Selma is in a terrible position. She’s a single mother with a 2 year old son and this is a great job for her. We’ve seen Selma and her little boy Arthur at The Grove and they are friendly and delightful. We hope Selma can patch things up with Charlie.

Among the famous faces at the Sunday Farmer’s Market were Jon Cryer and his family. Two and a Half Men star Jon recently got a nice raise to 13.6 million for the next 22 episodes, but he still likes to shop for fruits and vegetables. He bumped into Selma Blairholding her son Arthur, who is now Charlie Sheen’s costar on Anger Management. It’s quite possible they were comparing notes on what it’s like to work with Charlie.

Denise Richards, 42, has certainly redeemed herself. She started out her career as an incredibly beautiful and spoiled actress who was dismissed as a minimal talent. When she married the notorious Charlie Sheen in 2006, people wondered “What kind of person marries a drug addict? They figured “Either she’s after his money or she’s doing drugs WITH him.” Two children and four years later the marriage was over, and there was no evidence of Denise bingeing with her husband. She DID endure numerous insults from Charlie during their divorce, but she managed to remain friendly with the father of her two daughters. Now that Charlie’s latest wife Brooke Mueller is headed toward rehab for the NINETEENTH time, Denise kindly volunteered to care for Charlie’s twin 4 year old sons. Sure, Charlie is helping Denise financially, but she’s gone the extra mile and will give the boys a decent home. Charlie Sheen didn’t do his “Scary Movie 5” costar Lindsay Lohan a FAVOR when he gave her that $100,000 check to cover her IRS debt. Why? Because every time Lindsay gets off the hook for one of her crimes and misdemeanors, it means she didn’t learn her lesson and will probably do it again, simply because she got away with it. Lindsay’s illegal behavior is likely to continue because she’s rarely punished and chooses to blame everybody but herself for her actions. Maybe Charlie had good intentions, but we can think of a lot of better things to do with that money.

HOW DID CHARLIE SHEEN AND HIS TWO EX-WIVES BECOME BEST FRIENDS?

It’s a little hard to digest the idea of Charlie Sheen’s second ex-wife Denise Richards throwing a 35th birthday party for his third ex-wife Brooke Mueller on Sunday. Brooke threw the party at her home, which she shares with her two children with Charlie (daughters Sam, 8, and Lola, 7,) and her adopted toddler Eloise. Brooke brought her three year old twins with Charlie, and of course Charlie was there for the festivities. This is certainly a family that is more than willing to forgive and forget. Charlie and Brooke’s legendary drug and alcohol problems seem to no longer be an issue. The whole inter-relationship is very civilized, but we have a feeling Charlie’s money has a LOT to do with it. Plus the fact that they all live in separate houses.

The fact that they were photographed out on the town in Hollywood may not be the best thing for her continued recovery.

MEL GIBSON AND CHARLIE SHEEN ARE TEAMING UP AGAIN

Lifetime’s stunt casting of Lindsay Lohan in Liz & Dick – most likely purely for publicity purposes – seems to be catching on in Hollywood. Director Robert Rodriguez has an impressive cast assembled for his Machete Kills movie – including Sofia Vergara, Amber Heard (Johnny Depp’s rumored fling) Jessica Alba, and Michelle Rodriguez. He also hired MEL GIBSON to play an eccentric billionaire arms dealer and CHARLIE SHEEN to play the President of the Untied States! Both Mel and Charlie rank up there with Lindsay in the “notoriety for negative reasons” department. Ironically, Mel tried to help Charlie during his famed “meltdown.” Will the novelty of these two fill theater seats? We doubt it. Viewers are WAY less likely to fork over $18 for movie tickets to see a train wreck, than they are to sit home and watch it on TV for free.

No one makes fun of himself better than Charlie Sheen. He’s been doing some amusing commercials lately and our favorite is from a Dutch beer company. It starts out with Charlie leaving rehab and as he drives home he thinks he’s hallucinating when everyone he sees seems to be drinking beer. There’s a twist at the end and if Charlie’s new TV series “Anger Management” is half as funny, we’re in for a treat.
