JENNIFER CONNELLY: CHEER UP – EVEN LOUIS VUITTON MAKES MISTAKES

Judging by this dress, Jennifer Connelly has a lot to be depressed about – hence her demeanor at the Lincoln Center event honoring Louis Vuitton. We’re assuming this is an LV creation and find it quite disturbing. The print is reminiscent of poor people’s wallpaper in the Depression era. The strange bodice looks like an oversize white bra is falling off her shoulders. Can you imagine anyone actually PAYING Louis Vuitton prices for this frock?

Winning or losing, LA Lakers games wouldn’t be the same without actress Dyan Cannon, 80, in her front row seat. In fact, she’s only missed a few games in the last thirty-something years. Dyan is best remembered for marrying 33 years older Cary Grant (1965 to 1968 – their daughter is Jennifer Grant) and her sexy comedy from 1969, Bob & Carol & Ted & Alice. It’s been a few years, but it’s nice to see that she looks great and still has all that curly blonde hair

Britney Spears Sam Asghari

LITTLE BRITNEY, HAPPY AT LAST

Oops- we almost forgot about Britney Spears, 35, who’s apparently been living happily ever after with her handsome Persian boyfriend Sam Asghari, 23. Above, the couple was seen at a Lakers game today. They’ve been together over a year – Sam flew to Japan last summer to join Britney on tour there and they took her two sons, 12 and 11, to Disneyland this summer, where a good time was had by all. And Britney has NO trouble staying in shape because Sam happens to be a fitness trainer.

Boys Club Matt Lauer Sexual Harassment Terminated

MATT LAUER’S REIGN OF TERROR AT NBC IS OVER!

Just as we suspected, as soon as Matt Lauer‘s termination was announced, MORE women worked up the courage to call him out for sexual misconduct. Hopefully, the malevolent and sexist “boys club” that ruled at the Today Show since day one, will finally be broken up for good. We’re guessing that Ann Curry (above) is very happy today – it’s common knowledge that the entitled Lauer orchestrated the termination of the engaging news anchor. And, of course we wonder what Tamron Hall has to say – both of these women were very popular on the show and left for illogical reasons. We’d love to see them both return!

POST-THANKSGIVING EVA LONGORIA IS ALL ABOUT COMFORT

Eva Longoria had lunch at Ebaldi in Beverly Hills with her Desperate Housewives costar Felicity Huffman today. Eva was comfortable in a loose fitting dress and sneakers. After appearing in a bikini last summer, Eva was plagued by pregnancy rumors. (Last year she married wealthy businessman Jose Baston.) She denied the rumors, claiming that she was temporarily bloated from eating too much cheese and indulging in pancakes. She even posted photos of her tummy in and her tummy OUT. Eva has no intention of becoming a chubby housewife.

THE DIVINE ORDER REVEALS SWITZERLAND’S DIRTY LITTLE SECRET

Suddenly it turns out that Switzerland is not the superior progressive country we always thought it was! Screenwriter/director Petra Volpe has let us in on Switzerland’s dirty little secret in her new movie The Divine Order – women didn’t get the vote there until 1971! Impossible to believe, but TRUE. Switzerland’s patriarchal system kept women oppressed THAT long! Despite the timely subject matter, the movie, about small town women waking up to the desire for equality, is charming, sometimes funny, and quite likeable. The best part about it is it teaches men what they did and still do wrong. It’s a nice lesson to be learned.

JENNIFER LOPEZ: LOTSA WORK, BUT PLENTY OF FUN TOO

Jennifer Lopez, with Vanessa Hudgens, could NOT look happier as the girls jog together while filming “Second Act” in New York. It helps that Jennifer just spent the holiday weekend with boyfriend Alex Rodriguez and all their kids in the Hamptons. Since Jennifer is one of the film’s producers, she gets to approve of all the casting and likes to include her friends like Leah Remini. Jen plays an ordinary big discount store employee who uses her innate smarts to make big money on Wall Street. She changes her life and brings her friends along for the ride.

Meghan Markle Mother Paparazzi

MEGHAN MARKLE’S MOM IS NOT COMING OUT OF THE HOUSE – YET

Meghan Markle’s mom Doria Ragland, 61, lives in a very accessible house in Los Angeles (above) and since her daughter got engaged to Prince Harry she’s been bombarded by reporters and paparazzi. Doria is cute and looks very young – she has dreadlocks and a nose ring – she’s often mistaken for a friend of Meghan rather than her mother. She and Meghan’s father, Thomas Markle, divorced when Meghan was six. Doria is quite accomplished – she has a Master’s degree in social work from USC and she runs marathons and teaches yoga classes. A typical California gal! Doria IS cautious about talking to the press clamoring outside her house – Buckingham Palace has arranged for security and warned press to leave her alone.

ANGELINA JOLIE IS A KARATE MOM

Parents at the Shaolin American Self Defense Academy in North Hollywood were QUITE SURPRISED when Angelina Jolie showed up during a recent karate class. Angelina and Brad’s daughter (not the one you think!) but Vivienne, 9, was a student in the class. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Angelina carefully observed all of Vivienne’s moves like a doting mom, and afterward, passed out decorated cookies to the other kids and parents.

KATHY GRIFFIN: NOT AS HARD UP AS YOU THINK

Kathy Griffin’s house in the Hollywood Hills has been on the market for awhile, and it finally sold for four and a half million dollars, according to the LA Times. Is she downsizing? Not yet. Kathy bought her current 13,400 sq ft Bel Air mansion last year (before the Trump photo debacle) for nearly 11 million dollars. Yes, this is the house where she has a restraining order against her volatile neighbor. Whether she can afford to KEEP the big house remains to be seen. She’s handling her “blackballing” by badmouthing Andy Cohen and TMZ’s Harvey Levin, yet she wants to remain a friend to the LGBT community. Actually, her gay fans are the core of her success as a comic, and we predict they WILL help her make a comeback. But whether her comeback is enough to support an 11 million dollar house remains to be seen.
