Seven year old Honey Boo Boo, AKA Alana Thompson, started school this week in Georgia like many children, but she couldn’t resist spicing up her drab school outfit with silver heels. Judging by how tight her clothes look, her pageant days might be behind her. But she’ll have a lot to share on “show and tell” day…

NOBODY works harder to promote her brand than Lady Gaga. She clomped around the cobblestone streets of Cologne, in the outlandish outfit in order to drum up excitement for her upcoming concert. (Does she EVER stop touring?) Of course, she’s just ASKING for animal activists to freak out over what looks like a dead animal draped around her neck. Those shoes are so precipitous that she has to be helped by a minder at all times. Gaga promises her next album ARTPOP will be an earth-shattering “multimedia experience” – it will include apps that allow fans to watch films, listen to extra tracks, and even chat with her!
Ouch! Oprah Winfrey’s feet are rebelling on the set of The Butler, now filming in New Orleans, Louisiana. She wears huge bouffant wigs and appropriate vintage clothing and shoes for her role as the wife of the White House butler played by Forest Whitaker. The movie spans several decades and Oprah has a massive wardrobe with appropriately painful shoes. Even her striped flats were hurting her as she arrived on the set today, so she took them off until the cameras rolled.

Willow Smith is 11 going on 28 and she’s already into six inch platforms. (Not to mention green hair!) She was photographed this week shopping in New York when other kids her age were in school. We’re guessing that by the end of the day she’ll have learned that wearing shoes like that for strolling around the city is NOT a great idea!
We have to give credit to the women who invented these convertible heel shoes, but will they catch on? The idea is totally sensible – you can change the heel height of your shoes (from 1 and 1/2 inches to 3 and 1/2 inches) according to the occasion. Working women won’t have to tote extra pairs of shoes around or keep them in the office. It’s very practical – the sole is flexible so it‘s comfortable with every heel height. The company is brand new and so far only one style is available ($149) and it‘s functional, but lacks the glamour of designer shoes. Do you think these might catch on? We’re betting they hope someone like Louboutin will buy their idea.

Shoe mogul Jessica Simpson and her fiance Eric Johnson arrived at the Footwear News Achievement Awardslooking festive. She’s become quite a contender in the lucrative shoe world because her Jessica Simpson line earns millions. They even sell her line at Nordstrom. Tonight, however pregnant Jessica looks like an opera singer with her buxom body and big hair. As long as he’s with Jessica, Eric will never have to worry about money….
Khloe Kardashian isn’t the only shoe addict in her immediate family – her husband Lamar Odom has an even worse addiction to fancy footwear. It’s more serious for him because he wears a size 16 and has to have his shoes custom made. Even though he has his own line of fancy sneakers filling up his closet, Lamar HAS to have tons of designer shoes too. (Above, he’s wearing custom Gucci crocodile sneakers) Louboutin customizes shoes to order for Lamar and recently he indulged in a pair of yellow and purple high top sneakers with rhinestones that cost $2600.00.
Lady Gaga wore yet another outrageous gown for a photo shoot in Central Park and she towered over everyone – including the hot dog cart. She picked up a hot dog from the vendor and had to decide how to eat it. She finally plopped down on the ground so she could concentrate on her food. Note the crazy stilt-like shoe poking out. Fortunately, she had plenty of people to help her get up.
Billionaire Oprah Winfrey has always lamented the fact that she’s usually too big to fit into designer clothes. However she was always able to indulge in the world’s sexiest and most glamorous shoes. Her red soled Louboutins became her trademark on her TV show. But sadly, over the years her bunions became more painful and swollen, and she had to wear flat comfy shoes off camera and just slip on the fancy ones for the show. Wearing expensive stilettos and platforms for big events makes Oprah miserable and she can’t wait to take her gorgeous shoes off. It’s ironic that she can afford any exquisite designer shoes, but her feet are only happy in Uggs.
The fact that Victoria Beckham is having back problems takes a back seat to the fact that she CANNOT WEAR HIGH HEELS! Victoria has a slipped disc that her recent pregnancy made worse and her doctor advised her NOT to further jeopardize her aching back by wearing heels. Next month she has to be at New York’s Fashion week for the first time wearing flat shoes. She was seen wearing pair of Amy Winehouse style ballet flats when she went out with her husband David recently, but she’s worried about Fashion Week. (She’s going to look very short!) Fortunately she has friends in high places and Christian Louboutin is designing some flat shoes just for her – with red soles, of course.
