Paula Abdul is still out of a job and she has never looked better! Since she left American Idol last summer, she has been linked to a number of possible shows. Dancing with the Stars was a possibility, The X-Factor seemed very probable, now she’s in talks to appear on an updated version of the old Star Search. It seems like she’s very much in demand but in no hurry to commit.

Paula Abdul went to Church this week – but not to pray for a job on “The X-Factor.” Actually, Church is the name of an LA clothing store and Paula showed up for a party looking model-thin. We think it’s close to a sure thing that Simon Cowell will make Paula a judge on “The X-Factor.” And it makes us wonder if Paula’s dramatically publicized departure from “American Idol” (she WAS remarkably composed) was all part of a master plan.
The nominations for the American Music Awards brought out some noteworthy looks. Paula Abdul seems to be everywhere these days and it looks like she rummaged through her closet and resurrected her 1980’s “Forever Your Girl” look. We could swear we’ve seen that hat and jacket and jewelry before. But she still wears it well. Adam Lambert seems to be trying to finagle a role in one of the “Twilight” movies – he ‘s got the sly vampire look down pat.

The announcement that Ellen was replacing Paula Abdul came completely out of the blue – she had never been previously mentioned. And here’s why: Fox has had their eye on Ellen for awhile because they want her to host a late-night talk show. Fox executives lured Ellen with a lucrative package – she’ll appear on American Idol now and in five years she will debut her night time talk show on Fox. She couldn’t resist THAT combo
