Does this hot guy have a familiar look? He’s James Franco’s younger brother Dave, and he’s starting to make his own mark in Hollywood. He had a big role in “21 Jump Street” and he’s currently filming “Now You See Me” in Brooklyn. Oh, and he’s also been on the cover of GQ magazine.

WHO KNEW JAMES FRANCO HAD A GIRLFRIEND ALL THIS TIME?

Did you know that James Franco was in a long-term relationship? He just confirmed to Playboy that he has split up with his girlfriend of five years, actress Ahna O’Reilly, 26, but this is the first most people have heard of her. Franco, 33, did a good job of keeping Ahna undercover all those years – he rarely spoke of her and photos of them together are rarely published. Franco says they lived together in Los Angeles, but the romance fizzled when he moved to New York to study and Ahna stayed in LA. Distance didn’t make their hearts grow fonder. He’s busy studying for his PHD in English at Yale. He sounds like not such a great boyfriend, anyway….

THE OSCARS 2011: NO MOMENTS WORTH REVISITING

Is it just us, or was this the most predictable and dull Oscar show of all time? Not one surprise. No touching moments or hilarious moments. Granted, the stage effects and look of the show was glittery, but despite their appealing looks, James Franco and Anne Hathaway contributed very little. It was all too stiff and serious. Where is Ricky Gervais when we NEED him? The Social Network got ROBBED!

YUM! IT’S CHEESEBURGER IN A CAN!

Introducing the latest advancement in portable foods: the world’s first cheeseburger in a can. This is the kind of sustenance that outdoorsmen like James Franco’s character in “127 Hours” might have carried. The can is thrown into water over a fire to heat it up. This canned burger might also be of interest to those suffering through blizzards, rolling blackouts, and power failures in the East. The same Swiss company, Katadyn, has developed powdered red wine (just add water) to go with the cheeseburgers.

CAN JOHN TRAVOLTA FILL JOHN GOTTI SR’S ITALIAN SHOES?

We were floored to hear that John Travolta is first choice to play the “Dapper Don,” John Gotti Sr, in the story of his life. The film’s executive producer Marc Fiore and John Gotti Jr, along with director Nick Cassavetes, met with Travolta at an Italian restaurant in LA to discuss the deal. Junior Gotti wants John to play his father and he’d like James Franco to play himself! (Imagine THAT ego!) We had no idea that Junior Gotti was so open minded – he has no objection to casting a Scientologist of questionable sexual preference to play his legendary mobster father! And WHO will play Victoria Gotti Charlize Theron?

JAMES FRANCO IS HOT TO PLAY SERIAL KILLER RICHARD RAMIREZ- THE NIGHT STALKER

James Franco is very excited about directing and starring in the amazing detailed story of serial killer Richard Ramirez “The Night Stalker” for good reason. When Ramirez was 13, he listened to his crazed Vietnam vet cousin Mike brag about the Vietnamese women he slaughtered, and witnessed Mike murdering his own wife. He grew up to become the sexy monster who terrorized Southern California in the 80’s when he killed at least 14 people and often murdered women after climbing in their bedroom windows at night. Police advised everyone to sleep with their windows locked that stifling hot summer. After his photo appeared on TV, a whole neighborhood recognized the satanist killer and there was a dramatic chase. Ramirez was a huge fan of AC/DC and his favorite song was “Night Prowler”– perfect soundtrack. He’s still sitting on death row, but the killer with the magnetic eyes managed to get married to a woman who wrote him 75 letters.

ROB PATTINSON HAS A FAMILIAR LOOK IN “WATER FOR ELEPHANTS”

Seeing Rob Pattinson in this period movie “Water For Elephants” reminds us of James Dean in “East of Eden.” We’re thinking, that since James Franco bought the rights to Sal Mineo’s life story, he might want to think about casting Rob as Dean, who played a big part in Mineo’s world.

RONALD REAGAN IS RETURNING TO THE BIG SCREEN

Hollywood names are being tossed around with varied opinions about who should star in the feature film of iconic President Ronald Reagan’s life. It’s simply called “Reagan” and the movie begins with the 1981 assassination attempt and flashes back and forward in his life. The producer Mark Joseph promises it will be nothing like the unflattering 2003 miniseries starring James Brolin. The Hollywood Reporter speculates that Zac Efron, Chris Pine, or James Franco might do Reagan justice, but we think an unknown actor with no baggage would be far more satisfying.

JAMES DEAN: MORE THAN YOU EVER NEEDED TO KNOW

This is the trailer for the new movie “Joshua Tree, 1951: A Portrait of James Dean.” James Preston, who plays Luke Ford on the vampire show “The Gates” plays Dean. (We fondly remember James Franco as James Dean.) It’s apparent that this movie is playing up the rumors that Dean was gay or bisexual. Somehow, as much as we loved James Dean, the gay angle isn’t going to make us want to run out and see this movie.
