This should be a consolation to all high school girls who assume they will never grow up to be glamorous. In 2002, Gossip Girl star Blake Lively attended Burbank High School and she had not yet blossomed into the leading lady she was to become. However, she WAS a cheerleader so the spark was there. With the help of her orthodontist, she went on to become not only a TV and movie star, but the face of Chanel – perhaps the most envied accomplishment of all.

That wasn’t an oddly shaped black leather handbag draped over Blake Lively’s arm yesterday – many readers speculated about it. Turns out what she’s clutching is a monster toy called “Rice Baby” – it has a brass face, leather body, and it’s filled with rice. The toy is called a “spiritual guide” and “keeper of secrets” and this Baby is said to be “capable of time and space travel.” You get a lot for $200. Is this the “next big thing?”

Blake Lively is back in New York on the Gossip Girl set preparing for the new season. Is her “summer of love” with Leonardo DiCaprio over already? He’s probably not happy because she’s unavailable to spend more time traveling with him in Europe. Hold on – the phone just rang. It’s obviously somebody she’s excited to hear from – maybe Leo’s coming to New York.

EVEN BLAKE LIVELY CAN MAKE AN OCCASIONAL ERROR IN JUDGMENT

Blake Lively has been loudly protesting that those nude photos of her supposedly taken BY her are absolutely fakes! We think she’s really embarrassed by her own youthful indiscretion. The pics were taken some time after 2007 when that particular phone came out, and she appears to be in a hotel room or trailer. Back then she was just starting “Gossip Girl” and dating Penn Badgley. We’re betting she was off doing a photo shoot or something, felt lonely, and sent him these pics on an impulse. Little did she know that in a few years she would become an important movie actress, a fashion muse for Karl Lagerfeld and Leonardo DiCaprio’s new squeeze! SOMEHOW the photos leaked, and she sicced her lawyers on the case screaming their denials. Ho-hum.

KELLY OSBOURNE DOESN’T WANT TO REPEAT TAYLOR MOMSEN’S MISTAKE

We were WONDERING why Madonna fired former “Gossip Girl” Taylor Momsen as spokesperson for her Material Girl clothing line after only a few months – it turns out Taylor foolishly blabbed that the line looked to her like “clothing worn by a high class hooker.” Madonna was outraged because the collection is aimed at teens, and she immediately replaced Taylor with Kelly Osbourne. But not before she had the talkative Kelly sign a multi page confidentiality agreement to keep HER in line!

LEIGHTON MEESTER LOOKS LIKE A MILLION BUCKS

The fact that Leighton Meester’s mother was in federal prison in Fort Worth, Texas, for drug smuggling when Leighton was born, just proves what a good actress she is. Background notwithstanding, Leighton is perfectly believable as the spoiled wealthy New Yorker Blair Waldorf on “Gossip Girls.” And she looks particularly fetching in this checkered coat with lace tights.

Nope, that’s NOT Taylor Momsen dressed up for Halloween – that’s Taylor’s work clothes for performing with her band Pretty Reckless. Her band played at the Paper magazine party and during the show she flashed her seventeen year old bare chest with gaffer’s tape on her nipples. Very Courtney Love. Taylor’s changed a lot (photo below) since she started on “Gossip Girl” a few years ago.

GOSSIP GIRL BLAKE LIVELY HEATS UP “THE TOWN”

Let’s pause and consider Gossip Girl Blake Lively’s role in “The Town.” She plays Krista, the town’s prettiest girl who has been worn down by lack of money and opportunity, single motherhood, and booze. Her clothes are cheap and tight and she sleeps around, but only has eyes for Ben Affleck’s character. He comes from a bank robbing family but is still considered a good catch in that environment. Blake did a great job of creating a dismal character nothing like we’ve seen her do before, and we have new admiration for her.

There’s a REASON why “Gossip Girl” Taylor Momsen ,17, towers over everyone in this photo. Actually she’s around 5’8”, but her incredible pistol platform heels add another eight-plus inches. She’s pictured here tottering out of Radio One studios in the UK where she performed with her band “Pretty Reckless.” Presumably she’ll hook up with Madonna and Lourdes while she’s in town – Taylor is the spokes- model for their Material Girl fashion line.
