She’s still very single, but Charlize Theron seems perfectly happy with her little boy Jackson. Charlize’s mom Gerda is carrying Jackson while Charlize gives him a cuddle, much to his delight. The family went shopping at Barneys this weekend and Charlize kept her short blonde hair covered up with a hat. Jackson turned one on Sunday and he’s just mastering the art of walking.
We can’t help but envy Bruce Springsteen’s wife Patti Scialfa. According to Mike Walker at The Enquirer, Bruce gave Patti the best Christmas EVER. Bruce hates to shop so he arranged a shopping spree for Patti at her favorite store – Barneys. He set it up ahead of time and had salespeople in every department – shoes, designer clothing, makeup, handbags, etc, pull things her size that she might like. He brought her to the store and told her to take her time and buy EVERYTHING she wanted! She DID and had the time of her life. Now THAT’S a great husband!

Female supercelebrities like Jennifer Lopez and Heidi Klum don’t mind if the objects of their affection aren’t as wealthy as they are, but they MUST be well dressed. Jennifer gave her boyfriend Casper Smart a spectacular makeover – he has expensive suits, overcoats and designer shoes – sneakers and hoodies are now reserved for the gym. Heidi’s no- nonsense bodyguard /boyfriend Martin Kristen just didn’t have the right clothes to take her out to dinner, so she took him to Barneys. Martin resisted, but according to The Enquirer, Heidi picked out and paid for $10,000 worth of suits, shirts and shoes for him. You’d think with her fashion contacts she’d get clothes at a discount, but she paid retail for everything. Sofia Vergara is SO ready to shop as she hops out of a cab in front of Barneys New York. She’s remarkably cheerful considering she and her good looking boyfriend of two years, Nick Loeb, split up over the weekend. Millionaire Nick had planned to run for the US Senate but had a serious car accident in 2010, and Sofia stayed by his side and nursed him back to health. They argue a lot, but we predict they’ll give the romance one more chance…

Of course the slenderizing illusion of Melanie Griffith’s pants is not surprising because Mel is slim to begin with. She was blessed with a naturally great figure. Melanie spent a happy afternoon shopping at Barneys.

Sharon Stone popped into Barneys this weekend looking like a million bucks as usual, except for one thing: her exposed tummy! Why, Sharon? You are a grown up actress and mother and just because you have a great body and flat stomach, doesn’t mean you should expose it. It just appears out of place and spoils an otherwise good look.

Every year before Christmas, Harrison Ford turns up at Barneys in Beverly Hills even though he’s a guy who doesn’t particularly like shopping. He’s carrying a tiny bag that most likely contains some special jewelry for Calista Flockhart. At least he has the good taste to shop at Barneys and he picks out something HIMSELF instead of sending someone else to select a gift for her. She has trained him well.
We arrived at Barneys in Beverly Hills Friday afternoon and noticed security type men in black suits with ear-pieces discreetly parked in several corners on the first floor. Suspicious that a celebrity might be in the store, we asked a salesperson who refused to talk. A friendlier clerk upstairs said there had been a trunk show in the designer department. A sweep of the designer floor revealed nothing so we went to the restaurant upstairs for coffee. Seated across the room was a striking woman with long black hair deep in conversation with another woman. We all got up to leave at the same time and the woman stood up and we were SHOCKED by her incredible height. She appeared to be around 6’7” and very slim. (The first thing we thought was: this poor woman, how can she buy clothes to fit her?) When she got in the elevator with us (and a bodyguard) we realized: this is L’Wren Scott, 44, Mick Jagger’s girlfriend. (6’3” in flats) She’s a model-turned-stylist-turned-designer, and they’ve been together for ten years. Apparently Mick, 5’10”, likes that she has a successful career of her own and he takes GOOD care of her because HE provided all those security guards for her trunk show. No sign of Mick, however.
Arnold Schwarzenegger hasn’t changed his habits all that much since the housekeeper’s baby scandal broke up his marriage. He and his son Patrick spent time shopping in Barneys and had lunch upstairs. He left alone and went to Giuseppe Franco for a haircut and they had coffee at Caffe Roma. Afterward Arnold and his male companion drove down to Ralph Lauren where he enjoyed more retail therapy. Typical Saturday. Arnold had hoped to ditch the bodyguards when he left office, but found that he still needs at least one.

Chloe Sevigny partnered up with Opening Ceremony to launch her very wearable collection of dresses and shoes and accessories. Her sweet “little girl” dresses run about $300 to $400 at Barneys. Now is the time to buy- they’re on sale.
