Peter Fonda is either cleaning house or he’s hard up for cash. He’s put loads of movie memorabilia up for auction at Heritage Auctions. And it looks like he’ll walk away with a pocketful of money. His hunting rifle is up for auction starting at $8000 and his Captain America Easy Rider badge is only two inches tall but set to go for $15,000. Our favorite is the large American Flag patch (see picture above) from his Easy Rider leather jacket – that’s expected to go for $50,000. Peter must be SO glad he did that movie.
WHO CARES? He was “B” list at his best.
Go work and get some real scoop.
You’re out of your 2007 Britney Spears obsessed/American Idol watching/Perez Hilton reading queer mind. Easy Rider changed the entire world and kickstarted the new Hollywood (although I will admit they were probably higher than both you or Britney…but that was a good thing)
If you are able to read actual paper books and turn off your computer for a few hours, try “Easy Riders, Raging Bulls: How the Sex-Drugs-and-Rock ‘N’ Roll Generation Saved Hollywood”
Now put away your ‘N-Sync CD’s and listen to The Beatles for 62 hours straight.
Let us know when you get a clue.
People are stupid if they pay that kind of money, especially for a silly badge.
Get your motor runnin’
Head out on the highway
Lookin’ for adventure
Or whatever comes our way
Yeah, darlin’ gotta make it happen
Put the world in a love embrace
Fire all of your guns at once and
Explode into space
I like smoke and lightnin’
Heavy metal thunder
Racin’ with the wind
And this feelin’ that I’m under
Yeah, darlin’ gotta make it happen
Put the world in a love embrace
Fire all of your guns at once and
Explode into space
Like a true Nature’s child
We were born, born to be wild
We can climb so high
I never wanna die
Born to be wild
Born to be wild
Get your motor runnin’
Head out on the highway
Lookin’ for adventure
Or whatever comes our way
Yeah, darlin’ gotta make it happen
Put the world in a love embrace
Fire all of your guns at once and
Explode into space
Like a true Nature’s child
We were born, born to be wild
We can climb so high
That I never wanna die
Born to be wild
Born to be wild
a classic!
Bravo to 7:25- next time use a name!
What did “Easy Rider” do…
Changed the South! They accomplished their goal of pointing out the negatives of the Hate.
I like to think of those guys were in the back pocket of the CIA. As a movie can go about changing the way people think about things.
Plus, Easy Rider glamorized drug use, which kick started the drug world (Oliver North) & the Rehab business – which is still thriving to this very day.
Plus, sparked Motorcycle sales.
Did you know – Dennis Hopper was in Moscow recently selling some of his photographic prints of that era… Think he’s still over there in his gallery. Ever hear that guy laugh: har har har.
If you got old stuff people can put value on and sell it!
Let’s hope Peter Fonda gets with Harley Davidson to introduce a new bike with cleaner looking lines.
But not a chopper!
If Harley doesn’t come up with something I’ll bet you Marty at Boss Hoss could come up with something.
You ought check out Marty’s yellow Piper Cub, sweet !!
I have seen Peter Fonda on TV, in interviews. He seems like a cool guy.
He probably could use the cash, but we all can at different times in our lives. Sounds like he is selling some interest items.
I think he needs cash, and you know why? Because it’s unfortunately so that someone who makes alot of money first, he damnit spends it also. But when his income is staggering, the spending, almost, has to continue. Then there comes a time, the bottom comes pretty fast in sight. I think this scene here is of that sort!!
Can’t see that stuff holding the purported value it’s being auctioned for another generation from now.
Boomers are suckers for overpriced nostalgia.
Fine art is a joke too, but people pay loads of money for it.
You can probably bet there’s going to be some Harley Davidson shop owners who’d love to buy up some of that stuff to hang on their walls – for conversation pieces in their shops.
Case in point, look at all the crap Jay Leno has in his garage.
Wonder who’s going to buy that motorcycle or did they donate it to the Smithsonian ?

Glad he did well. Thanks for posting.
