THIS is how Justin Bieber looked last night when he took his wife out to dinner at the high-end restaurant Carbone in New York. Hailey was dressed to the nines and looked quite adorable. When we see Justin in one of his unappealing outfits like this, we wonder how his fashion company Drew House stays in business. Do his fans really want to LOOK like Justin? His unisex Drew designs have been described as “super-baggy” in “drab colors” so this might be from his fall collection. Lucky for him, he has boatloads of fans with apparently low fashion standards who DO buy his overpriced clothes. At least this outfit doesn’t have DREW written across the crotch…

LOURDES LEON: TOO MUCH TOO SOON

Moschino designer Jeremy Scott posted this photo of himself and Lourdes Leon at the Met Gala, and they both look good, but….Madonna’s daughter is only 24, yet with that heavy Kardashian inspired makeup she could easily pass for a 38 year old cocktail waitress in Las Vegas. Doesn’t she realize models are supposed to look YOUNG and fresh? She’s going to age herself out of the business…

GUESS WHICH ONE IS THE REAL WOMAN!

The Eyes of Tammy Faye had a festive premier in New York. The REAL Tammy Faye Bakker, who died in 2007, would have been delighted that beautiful Jessica Chastain played her in the HBO Max film. This movie is based on the 2000 documentary of the same name produced by Fenton Bailey and Randy Barbato. Tammy herself appeared in the documentary. It’s hard to imagine Jessica as 4’11” Tammy Faye – she’s considerably taller, slimmer, and doesn’t have that high baby-talk voice. Tammy was most noted for her spidery fake eyelashes and her ability to burst into tears with runny black mascara – especially when her evangelical husband Jim Bakker, disappointed her. To her credit, Tammy divorced Jim Bakker (he went to prison) and she WAS accepting of the LGBT community and helped AIDS patients.

OUR FAVORITE MET GALA LOOK: PETE DAVIDSON

Just SEEING Pete Davidson SO out of his element at The Met Gala – and wearing a SKIRT- made the whole evening worthwhile. His Thom Browne outfit was original and totally unexpected. At least Pete resisted the urge to wear a TRAIN, which most of the women and a surprising number of men did not. Rihanna stole the night in her long train on that museum staircase a few years ago and designers REMEMBERED. Now loooong trains are a dime a dozen, making socializing at the party inside difficult, at best. (We don’t think clothing should interfere with having FUN!) Our favorite train of the night belonged to Lil Nas X and, sadly, the worst train was worn by Debbie Harry.

WHY KRISTEN STEWART HAS A BOUNCE IN HER STEP

Lucky Kristen Stewart is literally dancing on air on her way to New York’s Carlyle Hotel to prepare for the Met Gala tonight. (Chanel tonight? designers love to dress her…) She’s on a roll- her movie about Princess Diana, Spencer, debuted at the Venice Film Festival to decent reviews- she was justifiably nervous about that one. The Twilight star is now 31- back in 2012 she was the highest paid actress in Hollywood. Her romance with costar Rob Pattinson fizzled, but after two years together, she’s seriously in love with screenwriter Dylan Meyer and marriage is not off the table. We’re expecting Dylan will be her Plus One tonight on the red carpet…

Sam Asghari didn’t waste a MINUTE getting engaged to Britney Spears as soon as her father Jamie indicated that he was giving up on the conservatorship and Brit will soon be free to spend her own money. Her hot young boyfriend stayed with Britney for five years waiting for this to happen. You can bet that HE will be more than happy to take over Jamie’s duties – running Britney’s life and her finances ASAP. We predicted this – and now we predict that Britney will become pregnant soon, and with the baby demanding her attention, she will barely notice what Sam is up to….

MICHAEL SHANNON: NOT AS ROUGH AS HIS CHARACTERS

6’3” Michael Shannon’s movie characters (in over 100 films) are usually scary in some way- they are tormented, disturbed, corrupt, or just mean. Remember The Shape of Water? The 47 year old actor was honored at the Deauville American Film Festival with the Deauville Talent Award. Honorees have their names printed on gates outside the famous beach’s cabanas/cabins so visitors can rent the cabin of their favorite filmmakers and actors. Michael brought his sweet looking family along from Brooklyn to witness the event – his wife Kate, and daughters Sylvie and Marion.

KIM KARDASHIAN: GETTING IN THE MOOD FOR THE MET GALA

Wow- Kim Kardashian has been heavily influenced by Kanye West’s Donda album events. Kanye hired Balenciaga designer Demna Guasalia to design the event and the fashion for his album listening parties and black leather was all over the place. Not to mention over the head masks. Kim’s custom leather mask was made by an expert with amusing details – zippers for the eyes, a hole for her pony tail and little ear rings, but NO mouth opening.
