Johnny Depp is redeeming himself in the eyes of his fans by being generous to his exgirlfriend Vanessa Paradis and buying her and their children a house in Los Angeles. The 4.4 million dollar Mulholland Drive mansion has 5,800 sq ft and all the frills including a pool. Johnny, who seems not as enchanted by France as he once was, owned a mansion above Sunset Strip for years before he started a family. It’s likely he’s found another hillside place for himself, not far from his kids Lily-Rose, 13, and Jack, 9. He’s been seen several times on Sunset – occasionally jamming with bands at clubs, and not long ago at Pink Taco.

JOHNNY DEPP IS BACK AT HIS HOME IN FRANCE

It’s been awhile, but Johnny Depp finally went back to his home in France. The visit started rumors of a reconciliation with his partner Vanessa Paradis but that would be presumptuous. Johnny has recently been linked with his 26 year old Rum Diary costar Amber Heard because she’s been visiting him on the Mexico set of his movie “The Lone Ranger.” Lately, it’s said they have taken “a break” from each other. Insiders feel it’s improbable that Johnny will get back together with Vanessa, and most likely he’s spending time at home with his children Jack, 10, and Lily, 13. Johnny and Vanessa remain cordial for the sake of the kids.

This is the photo that launched all the rumors that Johnny Depp and Vanessa Paradis had gone their separate ways. Johnny was photographed last year kissing his publicist Robin Baum on the lips and the pair seemed very chummy. Keep in mind, Robin had been traveling with Johnny on all his movie promotion tours and appearances world wide. Vanessa had stopped appearing at red carpet events with Johnny and vice versa. Robin’s job kept her very close to Johnny so it was easy to cover up a romance. Robin in said to be in her late 30’s, divorced, and mother of two. She is also rumored to have been romantically involved with her former client Stephen Dorff. So how WEIRD is it that ROBIN is the spokesperson who today announced that Johnny and Vanessa ARE split up after all?

Granted, Amber DID describe filming The Rum Diary as “The best experience of my life,” but at that same time she “came out” as bisexual and introduced her attractive girlfriend, artist/photographer Tasya van Ree. SEE “HEARTBREAKER” FOR ENTERTAINING ESCAPISM AND JUST PLAIN FUN

Weeks ago we wrote about Vanessa Paradis and her new movie “Heartbreaker,” coming out this month. We posted the movie’s trailer and it looked like a funny romantic comedy that we hoped to see. Tonight we SAW it, and it more than lived up to our expectations. What a delight! Exotic locations and a very entertaining story that had the audience laughing out loud. The “Dirty Dancing “ scenes were our favorites. Here’s a romantic comedy that men will enjoy too. (Partly because the women are very sexy and the men are average looking at best.) It’s WAY funnier and more original than American romantic comedies.

He’s an expert, and very well paid until he makes the mistake of falling for one of his assignments. Vanessa looks adorable and we’re looking forward to it.

JOHNNY DEPP AND VANESSA PARADIS: LOVERS AND COSTARS

The party’s always better when Johnny Depp shows up. Johnny and his partner Vanessa Paradis looked adorable at the Chanel soiree in Cannes. The pair are preparing to costar in their first movie together called “My American Lover.” It’s the story of the French feminist Simone de Beauvoir and her affair in 1949 with American writer Nelson Algren. Hard-boiled Algren lived in Chicago and wrote about “pimps, prostitutes, drug addicts, politicians, and hoodlums.” In 1950 he became famous for writing “The Man with the Golden Arm.” Sounds like a role Johnny can sink his teeth into.

Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie are pictured here visiting Johnny Depp at his house in Venice, Italy. Angelina and Johnny are currently filming “The Tourist” there. Presumably this friendly visit will squash those crazy rumors that Johnny’s girlfriend Vanessa Paradis ordered him to quit the movie because she’s afraid Angelina will seduce him. One of Brad’s first acting jobs was on Johnny’s TV series “21 Jump Street” and at the time he idolized Johnny. Brad was so influenced by Johnny that he started dressing like him, wearing plaid shirts and a black leather jacket.
