JOHNNY DEPP ISN’T SO SPECIAL, AFTER ALL

Many delusions were shattered last week when the news broke that Johnny Depp, 50, just got engaged to Amber Heard, 27. Johnny has long been on a unique pedestal – many women believed he was special and sensitive – not the typical Hollywood actor. This was reinforced by the fact the he lived happily in the French countryside with French actress/singer Vanessa Paradis, 41, and their two children for years. Their split was disappointing, but it soon became apparent that Johnny had new ideas. Or maybe not so new. He isn’t the man many fans thought he was- Johnny’s just another aging actor smitten with a sexy young blonde starlet, and he couldn’t care less about the 23 year age difference or cultural gap. Certain sources INSIST that Johnny Depp‘s relationship with Vanessa Paradis imploded because he fell for Amber Heard while filming “The Rum Diary” (It was released in October, 2011) and they have been secretly together ever since. Yet we have NO sightings of them together, except at the movie’s premiers (top photo.) Granted, Amber DID describe filming The Rum Diary as “The best experience of my life,” but at that same time she “came out” as bisexual and introduced her attractive girlfriend, artist/photographer Tasya van Ree. (bottom photo) Amber and Tasya are still a couple, so where does Johnny fit in? Johnny and Vanessa insist their romance is NOT over. It remains a mystery…

Flop Johnny Depp The Rum Diary

EVEN JOHNNY DEPP COULDN’T SAVE “THE RUM DIARY”

Johnny Depp has been EVERYWHERE promoting “The Rum Diary” (magazines, TV, even colleges) which opened this weekend, but it flopped anyway. Depp has long been a fan of alcoholic drugged-up journalist Hunter S Thompson, and he was responsible for getting the movie made. Apparently moviegoers do not share Johnny’s fascination with self-indulgent Thompson. It only pulled in around five million dollars and could be the biggest flop of Johnny’s career. This still of Johnny from the movie, which takes place in the late 50’s, almost – almost – makes us want to see it.

JOHNNY DEPP: A THREE PIECE SUIT AND NAIL POLISH TO MATCH

Johnny Depp got all dressed up for the premier of his movie “The Rum Diary” in New York. You don’t see Johnny, 48, in a three piece suit very often. That blue nail polish matching his shirt has all the indications of a fad alert. We’re thinking other men might pick up on this, so Chanel might be advised to introduce Depp Blue to their collection of nail colors.

Johnny Depp arrived in the Caribbean to start work on “The Rum Diary” and already he’s got his 1950’s haircut and he’s dressed in character for the period movie. It’s interesting how Johnny STILL looks hot – even in such conservative attire. And his fans in the Caribbean are mobbing the movie locations.

Johnny Depp, so we were happy to observe him turn up in the Caribbean where he’s scouting locations for his new movie The Rum Diary. It’s not for kids- it’s taken from a Hunter S Thompson book about American newspaper writers living in Puerto Rico in the 1950’s and it’s loaded with alcoholic excess, violence, and romantic entanglements. And one gorgeous guy.
