We ALMOST didn’t recognize David Beckham in these fashion shots he did for Fantastic Man magazine in the UK. His darker hued pompadour hairstyle threw us off until we recognized the tats. If he ever gives up soccer he certainly could have a career as a model.
Here’s another unique male model that turned up for Fashion Week in Paris. Rick Genest, aka “Zombie Boy,” has all-over face and skeletal body tattoos. Every inch of his body is covered. The Montreal born model was a sensation when he appeared in Thierry Mugler’s fashion show in Paris and beautiful girls were waiting in line to have their pictures taken with him. He also appeared in Lady Gaga’s video ”Born Like This.” Rick told WWD “When I was a kid I fell in love with zombies and wanted to be one.” No kidding.
Vanessa Hudgens needs a new boyfriend or an exciting job opportunity because the 22 year old seems to be bored out of her mind. Why else does a successful and beautiful young woman go out and get tattooed in this day and age? What was hot in the 90’s has become tiresome, with tattoo removal offices rivaling tattoo parlors in number. Desperate for excitement, Vanessa got another butterfly tattoo – she has one on her back and this one’s visible on her neck. (Apparently the name Vanessa translates to butterfly in Greek, as if that’s an excuse.) Maybe this is one of the few ways Disney kids can rebel without consequences.
A few offhand comments about the Golden Globes: Certainly the biggest news of the night was Justin Bieber’s new haircut. It looks like some stylist talked him into feathering that helmet hair he’s held onto and he really doesn’t look happy about it. We all have to grow up sometime. It wouldn’t be a special event without Rob Pattinson – his arrival elicited the most screams from the fans outside by a long shot. Finally, we think Megan Fox is a classic beauty, but this is 2011 and tattoos on the red carpet look SOOO tired.
Back in June we told you that Sandra Bullock was aware that her estranged husband Jesse James was a big fan of L.A. Ink reality star Kat Von D while they were still married. At that time she didn’t suspect any funny business on Jesse’s part. Sneaky Jesse made it clear to Kat that he’d like to hook up – however, she never responded. (And we admired her for that.) Now that Jesse’s divorce is over, Kat apparently relented and she and Jesse were seen together in Las Vegas this weekend, dining at the Palms and holding hands, according to People magazine. So Jesse got his wish in the end.
It’s not easy being Sandra Bullock. Imagine – she was the toast of the town at the Oscars and a few weeks later she’s been crushed by marriage betrayal. Since In Touch revealed the story of Jesse James’ affair with tattoo model Michelle “Bombshell McGee,” Sandra has been out of sight and canceling appearances. If you’re wondering if the affair story is true, all you have to do is LOOK at the model – she’s Jesse’s type. He’s always preferred skanky women and Sandra is the exception. It’s ironic that the affair happened while Sandra was filming “Blind Side” in Atlanta. We feel awful for her, but don’t think she’ll dump Jesse. Sandra knew she was marrying a bad boy. She’ll think long and hard and make him suffer, but she doesn’t want a divorce. Like Fergie, she will take the high road and hold on to her marriage.

Not to be outdone by cat woman, Jocelyn Wildenstein, this man named Dennis Avner, has transformed himself into a cat. He says he is Huron and Lakota and his transformation into a tiger is an old Huron Indian tradition. Little did we know. He has tattooed his entire body with tiger stripes, filed his teeth and nails, and attaches whiskers to the studs above his mouth. Or should we call it the emancipation of Margaret Cho. She’s come a long way since she dated Chris Isaak. Margaret’s looking sleeker and saucy with all those new tattoos. – most of which are not visible. Margaret says not only is she bisexual, but she’s happily married and has a new VH1 reality series, The Cho Show, starting August 21. It sounds similar to Kathy Griffin’s series, which is a good thing. If you’ve ever seen Margaret’s act you’ll know why we can hardly wait to meet her parents on the show.

No – not to the Jose Eber Salon, no, not to La Scala for lunch, and definitely not to Saks Fifth Avenue. La Liz is on her way to the Ed Hardy store on Melrose Avenue to pick up some things for summer. The next time we see her she might be dressed like Madonna in a “Punk is Not Dead” tattooed hoodie, or a rhinestone “Love Kills Slowly” trucker hat.
