LaToya Jackson, who believes her brother Michael “was the closest thing to God I knew” has apparently started to dress like Elizabeth Taylor. Isn’t a sweatsuit, Ed Hardy hat, Louis Vuitton bag, and Michael Jackson t-shirt something Liz would wear in her wheelchair? La Toya was snapped at LAX coming home from New York and she wants everyone to know she was NOT paid for her 20/20 interview with Barbara Walters (Friday, 10PM.) “Gifts” probably don’t count.

JON GOSSELIN IS LIVING IT UP IN ST TROPEZ -MINUS EIGHT

Ed Hardy designer Christian Audigier will stop at nothing to make himself a celebrity. Recently he’s been buddying up to Hollywood’s famous (like Michael Jackson) for photo ops, AND he erected giant billboards of his image on Sunset strip. He obviously noticed “Jon and Kate Plus Eight” on many covers of American magazines so he invited Jon Gosselin and his girlfriend Hailey Glassman for a sail on his yacht in St Tropez. Of course, there were many photo opportunities. We wonder what Christian and Jon talk about. (Above – Jon and Hailey are the ones in the Ed Hardy shirts.)

No one is better prepared for Swine Flu than Michael Jackson. He wore his surgical mask to a doctor’s appointment in Beverly Hills and afterward took his masked kids to the Ed Hardy store on Melrose Avenue. (Michael is rumored to be collaborating on designs for the company) They picked out loads of clothes, but the oddest selection was a tattooed mannikin. An employee loaded it into Michael’s car.

If there’s one person who loves publicity as much as Michael Jackson, it’s Ed Hardy designer Christian Audigier. (The difference between them is Michael doesn’t have to put up billboards of himself all over LA, the way Christian does.) Anyway, it’s natural that they’d join forces and Christian took frail looking Michael shopping on Rodeo Drive for maximum exposure. They popped in and out of Dior and Dolce & Gabbana, and could barely conceal their delight when paparazzi caught them in the act. Michael’s kids will probably get a big shipment of Ed Hardy stuff next week.

Elizabeth Taylor is dolled up in her finest jewelry and high heels for an outing – can you guess where she’s going? No – not to the Jose Eber Salon, no, not to La Scala for lunch, and definitely not to Saks Fifth Avenue. La Liz is on her way to the Ed Hardy store on Melrose Avenue to pick up some things for summer. The next time we see her she might be dressed like Madonna in a “Punk is Not Dead” tattooed hoodie, or a rhinestone “Love Kills Slowly” trucker hat. The Ed Hardy store has always showered celebrities with freebies, but this one is a surprise!

Michael Jackson was the surprise guest (he didn’t sing) at the huge birthday party of Ed Hardy designer Christian Audigiers at the Peterson Auto Museum last night. Britney Spears was also there also in another too-tight outfit. It was a fashiony crowd and Michael looked sadly dated in his satin embroidered shirt and shiny pants. Christian Audigiers has a major celebrity following (that means he gives them loads of free clothes.) Remember – he used to be the designer for Von Dutch. A few years ago, it was revealed that the original Von Dutch – a rockabilly hot rod customizer from the 50’s – when he was alive, was an alleged racist and nazi sympathizer! Christian bolted from that company name and started his own Ed Hardy line, based on a tattoo artist with no known negative attributes.

MADONNA'S SUBLIMINAL ADVERTISING

Lately we’ve been seeing a LOT of photos of Madonna wearing Ed Hardy t shirts. A coincidence? We think not. We couldn’t figure out WHY she would be flaunting this label. Girls of Lourdes‘s age are more likely to be found lusting after Ed Hardy items than their mothers. Well, we were shopping (and digging for gossip) on Robertson today and just happened to find out the answer. A shop owner confided that it’s rumored that the Kabbalah organization is a big investor in the Ed Hardy company. Therefore, Madonna is involved also. That explains it all. Everything happens for a reason.
