ANGELINA JOLIE REPURPOSES AND RECYCLES IN HER NEW STORE

Angelina Jolie and her son Pax were seen visiting her new store at 57 Great Jones Street in NYC. Rent is high (asking price $60,000 per month) because that graffiti covered building was once the art studio that Andy Warhol rented to Jean-Michel Basquiat. Angelina opened her fashion studio called Atelier Jolie featuring deadstock, vintage clothing and fabrics, and basics ready for instant alterations and re-design. Staffers are mostly students from Parsons School of Design. Angelina admits she might lose money on this fashion venture…

MAYBE YOU CAN GET WHAT YOU WANT!

If you’re a die-hard Rolling Stones fan or a tourist, you might find exactly you want at the new Rolling Stones store opening September 9 – on “swinging” Carnaby Street, of course. They’re optimistically calling it a “flagship store” -which means they are planning a chain of such stores – but isn’t ONE really enough? The shop has the subtle name: R.S. No.9 -(it’s located at 9 Carnaby St.) and it will feature the band’s huge music catalog and latest releases, t-shirts and clothing for men, women, and children. Of course, since it IS in London, raincoats and umbrellas (like the one above) will be available. And hopefully lots of band memorabilia. Of course, the sales clerks working there will have to listen to Rolling Stones music all day every day…

JUST IN TIME FOR THE HOLIDAYS: THE BANKSY STORE

One of our favorite artists, Banksy, has opened a surprising – and temporary- shop in the UK displaying a collection of Banksy oddities for sale, from a handbag made out of a brick to a stab-proof vest, plus a tombstone engraved with “You have reached your destination.” The shop window only displays the “impractical and offensive” merchandise – doors are locked and buyers must purchase items online at Banksy’s Gross Domestic Product site. Banksy admits he opened the store to establish his name as a trademark – someone tried to steal his name.

KYLE RICHARDS CAN’T UNDERSTAND WHY LISA VANDERPUMP IS MORE SUCCESSFUL THAN SHE IS

We were happy to meet someone involved in The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills and coaxed a little gossip out of this person (who shall remain nameless.) The source is adamant that Kyle Richards is the LEAST popular of the BH Housewives, among both the cast and production people. The source said that Kyle feels very entitled – she’s demanding and thinks she should be the biggest star on the show. She seems envious of Lisa Vanderpump’s success and expected her own clothing store, which she opened down the street from Lisa’s restaurant, to be a huge success because of her name. But apparently her name isn’t enough, because the source says the store is usually empty and the sales people are bored. Business is disappointing. And THAT doesn’t help Kyle’s mood.

MISCHA BARTON: HAPPY AT LAST!

No WONDER Mischa Barton has been away from Hollywood so long! The sometimes troubled actress (most famous for “The O.C.“) has finally found success in the UK with the opening of her new namesake store. Mischa has been designing handbags since 2008, and sold her clothing collection online at Mischa’s Place. Now she’s got a brick and mortar store in a hip neighborhood in London and she couldn’t be more excited. But she hasn’t given up acting – she has several horror/thriller movies coming out this year and in the fall she’s set to appear in an Irish stage production of “Steel Magnolias.”

$10 KARDASHIAN WATER IS A HOT SELLER AT DASH STORE

We were curious about how the Kardashians’ DASH store is doing in New York, but they haven’t been forthcoming with any sales figures. There’s no doubt the Soho shop attracts crowds – mostly young teens with their mothers. They have a burly security guard to keep order outside like a club doorman. The odd thing is that once these Kardashian fans get inside the store they can’t find much to buy. The shop has been described as looking more like a “set” than a functioning store and the racks of high priced glitzy clothes are sparse. Most customers have been observed leaving empty-handed, although quite a few spring for the $10 Dash bottled water as a souvenir.
