BANKSY STRIKES AGAIN
BANKSY EXHIBITION IS BRIGHTENING UP MUNICH
Okay, we admit to being a maniacally devoted Banksy fan, so we were delighted to hear about his “Unauthorized Exhibition” called The Mystery of Banksy- A Genius Mind, in Munich, Germany. Over a hundred culturally significant items are on display- graffiti, photos, sculptures, video installations, and prints. Some of the artist’s philosophy is also included, such as his mantra “Remember, it’s always easier to get forgiveness than permission.” Banksy, the King of Street Art, has become one of the most expensive artists of our time, so we imagine security there is at an all-time high. Celebrities love Banksy – Brad Pitt has invested millions in his art.

BANKSY ART SCRUBBED OFF OF LONDON SUBWAY TRAIN
Little did the people in charge of sanitizing the interior of London subways realize that they washed away some valuable and heartfelt Banksy art. The art piece was titled If You Don’t Mask, You Don’t Get, and by the time Banksy unveiled the art on his Instagram account, it had already been scrubbed off by cleaning crews. It was treated like any other subway graffiti, but it DID illustrate that the cleaners did a thorough job. The transport company invited Banksy to do a new version of his message “in a suitable location.” Of course, the whole thing could have been another Banksy prank, and he KNEW this would happen…
JUST IN TIME FOR THE HOLIDAYS: THE BANKSY STORE
One of our favorite artists, Banksy, has opened a surprising – and temporary- shop in the UK displaying a collection of Banksy oddities for sale, from a handbag made out of a brick to a stab-proof vest, plus a tombstone engraved with “You have reached your destination.” The shop window only displays the “impractical and offensive” merchandise – doors are locked and buyers must purchase items online at Banksy’s Gross Domestic Product site. Banksy admits he opened the store to establish his name as a trademark – someone tried to steal his name.

BANKSY STRIKES AGAIN!
We have to confess we have a soft spot for the UK artist Banksy and his whimsical social commentary. His stenciled public art appears out of nowhere to promote his views and is immediately worth a fortune. Last week the Extinction Rebellion group (Emma Thompson is a supporter) protested the government’s lack of involvement in climate change because they “seek to minimize the risk of ecological collapse.” (Needless to say, they are not fond of our fossil fuel loving president.) After the closing ceremony this artwork appeared on a nearby wall. Art experts say it’s genuine and worth over a million dollars. Local council members rushed to protect it with a clear cover because it already suffered some defacement – the red and blue writing and the yellow leaflet.

DISMALAND: A “BEMUSEMENT PARK” FOR ADULTS
Banksy has outdone even his own amazing self with this apocalyptic theme park called “Dismaland” in the UK. He took an abandoned amusement park and started a rumor that a movie was being made there while he spent weeks converting the place under total secrecy. The pop-up art exhibition features a demented assortment of artwork by artists from around the world. Besides art, the place features a dingy castle, terrifying rides, games, and plenty of anti-corporate messages. Dismaland will only be open for five weeks ending September 27, so hurry up! Leave the kids at home.

BANKSY’S ART REFLECTS THE INFLUENCE OF TECHNOLOGY
We’ve been hoping for something new from satirical artist Banksy, and he’s posted his latest work on his website. It’s two lovers embracing while bathed in the light of their own cell phones. The life size art appears to be on a doorway within a stone wall SOMEWHERE, and it’s like money in the bank if the wall happens to be yours. Is that why he calls himself Banksy?
ARTIST BANKSY POKES FUN AT MCDONALDS
The NYPD was rumored to be hunting guerilla artist Banksy, but in fact, no property owners have filed complaints, so the elusive artist is continuing his month of surprising New Yorkers with new creations every day. This fiberglass replica of Ronald McDonald has appeared at a different McDonalds restaurant at lunchtime each day this week. It features a live boy cleaning the clown’s shoes. Banksy fans race to find the new art every day and protect it from vandals with spray cans.

BANKSY STRIKES AGAIN …AND AGAIN
Banksy is surprising New York City with a new piece of outdoor art every day in the month of October. His month long “show” is called “Better Out Than In” and we have reason to believe that his next guerilla project will be in Los Angeles. Can hardly wait!
The photo on top is the art Banksy left in Queens last night and the one underneath is a slaughterhouse delivery truck that appeared in the meatpacking district on October 11. Some of his art is three dimensional.
