Yeah, she forgave him, but now she seems to have unlimited shopping rights! She was seen in Bergdorf Goodman not long ago perusing the fine jewelry counter while Larry obediently sat in a chair dozing. By the time he woke up she had spent over $50,000 on baubles.

It’s always fun to see Sophia Loren. She’s connected to a number of businesses – and one of them is the glamorous Italian jewelry company Damiani. They have a pricey Sophia Loren collection and she showed up at a recent PR event, looking spiffy – except for those oversize glasses. She has her own eyewear collection to promote also and might be overdoing it a bit by wearing TWO pairs of glasses at the same time.

We’ve all heard the story that Whitney Houston was buried wearing $800,000 worth of jewelry and certainly we wondered WHY her family would do such a thing – AND let the information leak out. Nightmarish visions of grave robbers couldn’t help but dance in our heads. According to recent rumors, the family has decided it’s not practical to have 24 hr guards protecting Whitney’s grave, so they plan to encase her casket in cement to discourage vandals. All this sounds like a good case for cremation, to us.
After many years of false cover stories on magazines announcing that Brad and Angelina were secretly engaged or even married, it’s finally happened for real. We know it’s true because Brad designed Angelina’s ring and the jeweler he collaborated with verified the news. It’s not the first time Brad has designed jewelry. He also designed his and hers engagement rings for himself and Jennifer Aniston. At that time he worked with the Italian jeweler Damiani, who promptly knocked off his design and sold a less expensive version until Brad sued the company. This time around Brad worked with Beverly Hills jeweler Robert Procop to create an exclusive ring. Procop provides much of the jewelry Angelina wears for special events and advertises that fact.
We were just waiting for THIS to happen. When The Enquirer revealed that Whitney Houston was buried with $500,00 worth of jewelry, you could just imagine the grave robbers making plans. Whose brilliant idea was THAT? Her burial site in Westfield, New Jersey, has been closed to the general public for the past week after hordes of fans overran the cemetery. 24 hour armed security guards have been hired by the family to keep her grave from being robbed. What a waste of money.
There’s no doubt that Jennifer Lopez is living it up to the max since she filed for divorce from Marc Anthony. She’s hot again – performing on TV, doing movies, and vacationing with her young boyfriend Casper Smart. She’s also quietly selling off ALL the jewelry Marc gave her while they were married. He was very generous and showered her with diamonds (including that big engagement ring) but she wants NONE of it. Her mood is that the marriage is over and she wants to start fresh.
Jessica Simpson spent Friday afternoon with her girlfriends ogling the Elizabeth Taylor estate collection, which will be auctioned off at Christie’s in December after it travels around the world for people to see. Fans paid $20 a pop to see Elizabeth’s clothing, movie memorabilia, art, jewelry, Oscars, etc and the museum showing in West Hollywood was sold out. Jessica certainly wasn’t there to get fashion inspiration (Liz’s clothing was incredibly gaudy) but she did linger over Liz’s astonishing collection of gems and her 33 KT diamond in particular. We wonder if Jessica will bid at the auction.
Surely Leonardo DiCaprio wasn’t surprised when he was mistaken for a thief in that jewelry store in Sydney, Australia. A lot of the time he LOOKS like a potential thief. Anybody running a jewelry store would be freaked out if two burly guys (bodyguards) followed by a furtive man covered up in a hoodie and sunglasses walked in. Most guys covered up in hoodies are up to no good, as President Obama is well aware. Time to push the silent alarm. Luckily, Leo took off his glasses and revealed his sweet face before there was a problem and it was endearing to hear that he picked out a necklace for his mother.
We were GLAD to hear that the jewelry store where Lindsay Lohan is accused of shoplifting sold the surveillance tape for $35,000! Who WOULDN’T – given the opportunity? The store has put up with a lot of aggravation for that $2500 stolen necklace and they have to spend who-knows-how-much time in court. The tape belongs to them and they have every right to profit from it. Selling it has NOTHING to do with Lindsay’s guilt or innocence. Everything she did IN the store and later – having the necklace delivered to the police instead of returning it to the store with an apology – indicates to us that she’s certainly guilty, and is, in fact, an experienced and clever thief. This stolen necklace situation with Lindsay Lohan is an instant replay of a stolen coat situation in 2008. The neighborhood jeweler who spotted a paparazzi photo of Lindsay wearing his missing necklace called her on it, and the jewelry was delivered to the police the next day. Back in 2008 Lindsay was at a party at 1Oak in New York seated next to a young woman who took off her $11,000 blond mink coat. When the woman got up to leave, the coat was gone. Days later, she saw paparazzi photos (above) taken that same night of Lindsay wearing the coat! She called 1Oak, who were of no help, and had her lawyer contact Lindsay’s lawyer. The next day the coat was delivered to her, reeking of cigarettes and booze. No apology, nothing. She didn’t press charges. A coincidence? We think not.
