Ray Liotta looks pretty hot walking down the street in New York with his silver hair. He’s promoting his new movie with Ashley Judd (we love her) called “The Identical.” It’s kind of an Elvis take-off movie but producers deny that. It’s the story of twin brothers born poor in the south who are separated at birth. (Ray and Ashley adopt one twin.) One twin grows up to be a huge pop star and the other becomes an impersonator of the pop star! A guy who imitated Elvis at state fairs and casinos named Ryan Pelton, plays the twins.

Every once in awhile we like a little dose of Elvis. We just came across this video on Facebook of Elvis singing “A Little Less Conversation” – he’s at a Hollywood-looking party in 1968 and he’s wearing a white turtleneck! The people dancing around him are hilarious. It’s actually a rather sexy song and we wish he were singing it to us!
Elvis’s granddaughter Riley Keough is pictured here leaving the House of Blues where she saw Joan Jett perform. Apparently, rumors of her dating Rob Pattinson proved to be untrue – she was misidentified as the redhead riding in his car, but it turned out to be somebody else. Too bad.

We were sorry to hear that Sheila Ryan Caan died last week . We met Sheila back in the 70’s when she was dating Elvis Presley. She wasn’t a quickie- she actually dated him for at least a year and he paid her rent and bought her a car and who knows what else. She was a pretty, natural looking blonde from Chicago and as soon as she and Elvis split she started seeing James Caan, who tried to out-do Elvis when it came to gifts. Her marriage to Caan wasn’t great, but they had a talented son Scott, now a successful writer and actor on Hawaii Five-O. Sheila was sweet and well-meaning, but problematic. Her life always revolved around the men she was with and she never made the effort to develop her own talents, so her later years were not as happy as her early years.

It’s a day to reminisce. Elvis Presley died 35 years ago today and we remember that day with total clarity. We had just exited the Hollywood freeway after a day of thrift shopping with a friend, when Elvis‘s sudden death was announced on the radio. We almost drove off the road in shock. We were SO upset and tearful we couldn’t drive, and had to pull into Tiny Naylor’s Drive-in on the corner of La Brea and Sunset to compose ourselves and have a cold drink. People at the drive-in were in shock and disbelief also. Waitresses wept. Little did we know Tiny Naylor’s would be gone in a few years too.

Vanity Fair photographed Elvis’s granddaughter Riley Keough, 23, and she looks quite striking. Her career is moving along nicely – she’s still modeling and since she appeared in “The Runaways” her acting career has opened up. You’ll see her soon in “Magic Mike.” Nice to hear that Riley isn’t turned off when people bring up her grandfather’s name – she says they often share stories about Elvis shows they went to and remember fondly. She finds it sweet…

Johnny Hallyday, 68, was always described as “The French Elvis Presley ” and he admits he was heavily influenced by Elvis’s style. Johnny’s first album “Here’s Johnny” came out in 1960 and he was an immediate hit everywhere in Europe except the UK. He’s still a huge star in France. Johnny has a house in LA and he enjoys walking around in relative anonymity when he comes here. Maybe if Elvis had lived, HE would have turned up at the Coachella music festival with a much younger wife. Who knows?
