JOHNNY DEPP IS KEEPING 500 PEOPLE WARM

We happen to be quite fond of Johnny Depp so we’re not at all surprised when he does something beyond the call of duty. He’s been filming “Pirates of the Caribbean 4” at Pinewood Studios in the UK, and the weather has been bitterly cold. After noticing a lot of teeth chattering and shivering among his coworkers, Johnny ordered warm and waterproof hiking jackets for EVERYONE on the production. According to The Sun, at $100 apiece, the bill came out to nearly $50,000 for the large cast and crew of 500.

PENELOPE CRUZ IS GOING TO HAVE A HARD TIME SQUEEZING HERSELF INTO PIRATE COSTUMES

There’s more of Penelope Cruz to love now that she’s five months pregnant and it will be a challenge for wardrobe people on “Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides.” Last summer when she was filming with Johnny Depp in Hawaii she managed to squeeze into her laced up costumes. But yesterday she landed in London to resume filming and Jack Sparrow’s love interest is several sizes larger. Above, she was photographed in Madrid shopping for maternity clothes last week.

Keith Richards looks like he might be consoling his buddy Johnny Depp over losing the starring role as Freddie Mercury. But Johnny’s dance card is full – he’s in the process of finishing the 4th Pirates of the Caribbean movie (he still has his makeup on in this photo) and has three more films about to be released: “The Tourist,” “The Rum Diary,” and “Rango.” Plus he has 13 movies currently in development.

We always know what Johnny Depp is up to – but do you know what his partner Vanessa Paradis has been doing? She has a romantic comedy called “Heartbreaker” coming out in September. It’s about a man who makes a living breaking up romances. Friends or parents hire him to seduce women and break up ill-advised relationships. He’s an expert, and very well paid until he makes the mistake of falling for one of his assignments. Vanessa looks adorable and we’re looking forward to it.

Freshly married Penelope Cruz reported for work on the new Pirates of the Caribbean movie “On Stranger Tides” in Maui and slipped into her sexy pirate attire. She plays Blackbeard the pirate’s vicious daughter who takes Johnny Depp’s character Jack Sparrow hostage. Keep in mind the LAST Pirates of the Caribbean movie was the 8th biggest grossing movie of all time. Rumors abound that the new Mrs Javier Bardem is pregnant – let’s hope the boat scenes on the high seas don’t upset her tummy.

There’s one place that Johnny Depp’s almost-wife Vanessa Paradis nearly ALWAYS visits when she’s in Los Angeles. It’s not a fancy clothing store – it’s a PARTY store! Apparently she and Johnny and their kids Lily-Rose, 11, and Jack, 8, go all out for the holidays. Vanessa loves the old fashioned Vine-American Party Store that’s been in Hollywood since 1934. Johnny Depp might be looking for YOU! According to The Sun, he’s starting his own record label called Unison Music and has a team scouting for talent – checking out up and coming bands in London’s dingy dives. It makes sense – Johnny has always been an aspiring rock musician – he was in a band when he got his first acting job and still plays music every chance he gets. He’s played guitar with Oasis on more than one recording and he collaborates with his pal Shane MacGowan of The Pogues.

Johnny Depp is giving Angelina Jolie QUITE an admiring glance in this photo from their movie “The Tourist” – presumably he IS acting. Johnny plays an American visitor in Venice who’s trying to get over a personal tragedy. Angelina is the extraordinary woman who arranges to meet him not-so-accidentally. Naturally, he falls for her charms and she pulls him into her world of danger and adventure. Sounds good to us.

JOHNNY DEPP AND VANESSA PARADIS: LOVERS AND COSTARS

The party’s always better when Johnny Depp shows up. Johnny and his partner Vanessa Paradis looked adorable at the Chanel soiree in Cannes. The pair are preparing to costar in their first movie together called “My American Lover.” It’s the story of the French feminist Simone de Beauvoir and her affair in 1949 with American writer Nelson Algren. Hard-boiled Algren lived in Chicago and wrote about “pimps, prostitutes, drug addicts, politicians, and hoodlums.” In 1950 he became famous for writing “The Man with the Golden Arm.” Sounds like a role Johnny can sink his teeth into.

JOHNNY DEPP WAS NOT ON ROBERTSON BLVD TODAY

Robertson Blvd came alive today when people started buzzing that Johnny Depp was walking down the street. Stores emptied as clerks and shoppers dropped their merchandise and ran outside to get a glimpse of the actor, but it turned out to be a lookalike with his own entourage, who was being followed by a camera crew. Passersby were filmed as they reacted to the imitation Johnny. We smell a new reality show about celebrity lookalikes in the making…..
