The biggest and most shocking story of the week is also the saddest – the kidnapping of Savannah Guthrie’s mom Nancy. The story of Nancy being abducted from her suburban Arizona home dominated headlines and we can tell you this. Although Savanna is a devout Christian who regularly discusses her faith and the power of prayer, she’s open to almost anything if it helps find her mom, including a psychic. Our source reveals that while it’s not being disclosed, a high priced psychic who has a track record of helping solve criminal cases and locating missing people, was brought into provide guidance on the puzzling disappearance.
The arrest of journalist Don Lemon (we predict the charges against him will be dropped like a hot potato once this gets in front of a judge) was big news as well. Here’s what we know. Every dark cloud has a silver lining. Ever since he got the boot from CNN for comments he made which were viewed as sexist, Don’s career has stalled. But getting arrested has turned him into a martyr of sorts – and now offers are trickling in. Don’t be too surprised if Don lands a lucrative job, thanks in part to his arrest.
In more sad news, the surprising death of Catherine O’Hara at 71-years-old made headlines as well. We can tell you this. Behind closed doors the producers of the upcoming Academy Awards are figuring out how to honor Catherine. Nothing has been decided, but one idea floating around is for her Home Alone son, Macaulay Culkin to introduce a short segment honoring her appearances in storied films throughout her accomplished career. This might be a part of the in memoriam segment with another one to honor Rob Reiner. Again though this is all fluid, as my source says the ideas are still being tossed around.
Sydney Sweeney launched her lingerie line, SYRN with a desperate attempt at publicity involving hanging lingerie from the Hollywood sign and posting it in social media, followed up by a heavily airbrushed campaign of her doing gardening in skimpy lingerie. Well just when you thought it couldn’t get any tackier, now we can reveal that Lauren Sanchez has been tapped to appear in an ad for the line. Here’s why. Lauren and her husband Jeff Bezos just happen to be investors in the lingerie collection, so Lauren wants to show off her enviable figure in the sexy lingerie.
Kelly Clarkson made news when it was announced she was ending her popular daytime talk show after 7 seasons to focus on her family. Kelly’s made her kids her number one priority even more so after the recent death of her ex-husband Brandon Blackstock. We can tell you this. While Kelly is stepping away from the grind of doing daily show she’s not retiring. My source says she’s already lined up two projects – she’s writing a book about her time hosting the show and dealing with divorce and then the death of her ex-husband. She’s also creating a sitcom about – what else- a singer who hosts a talk show and has a chaotic life.
The Beckham family feud is the gift that keeps on giving and now Nelson Peltz, the father of Nicola, added his two cents by talking about it at a Wall Street Journal event in Florida. My source says that Nelson, who has indirectly financed both Nicola’s aspiring Hollywood career as well as her lifestyle with her husband Brooklyn Beckham, is eager to end the rift. He’s 83 and wants less drama in his life. It’s a delicate situation and emotions are extremely high, but Nelson is working to lower the temperature and somehow negotiate a peace deal that brings the estranged families together. It’s complicated to say the least, since egos, fortunes, and fame, are all involved, but making peace between his daughter and her in-laws is on Nelson’s bucket list.
The Super Bowl is coming up and all eyes will be on halftime performer, Bad Bunny, to see if he goes off script and mentions ICE. The Puerto Rican performer did just that during his recent Grammy acceptance speeches. Although NFL commissioner Roger Goodell recently stated that the performance will be non-political, we can tell you this. Behind closed doors, Bad Bunny has been warned that if he mentions ICE or immigration during the performance he will be fined upwards of $10 million. Apparently that’s a clause the NFL includes in the contracts they sign with halftime performers to all but guarantee the focus is on entertainment, NOT politics.
