TOM CRUISE WANTS YOU TO KNOW HE DOESN’T NEED A STUNT MAN

Tom Cruise loves to get publicity when he’s doing dangerous stunts so paparazzi are always notified so they can catch the action. Above, they are filming Mission Impossible 7 in the UK – in particular, a scene where Esai Morales (one of our favorites!) and Cruise are fighting on top of a speeding train lurching around a mountain. (A highly improbable event in real life!) Note both actors are attached to the top of the train car by two wires hooked to their waistbands. Interesting to observe that even during a tricky fight scene, Tom wears his built up elevator shoes. Sylvester Stallone used to have a casting rule that actors working opposite him should not be much taller – we wonder if Tom requires the same thing…

TOM CRUISE DOES ALL THOSE STUNTS IN ELEVATOR SHOES!

Tom Cruise may be 58, but that doesn’t deter him in ANY way from doing his own perilous stunts, and he loves the fact that it’s become his trademark. It’s all the more amazing that he’s an action star because he does all that running and jumping in elevator shoes! The 5’7” actor noticed early on that he was shorter than most of his costars and leading ladies, and he sought out the finest height enhancing shoes that money can buy. Now even his sneakers make him taller. (Keep in mind, all his pants have to be the perfect length to disguise the shoes.) Tom had a custom shoemaker in Beverly Hills that could add at least three hidden inches to almost any style shoe, but now that he’s living in the UK, he must have found a special shoemaker there.

TOM CRUISE CAN’T STOP TRYING TO PROVE HIS MASCULINITY

Seems like every movie that Tom Cruise, 58, makes lately is centered around his character performing extravagant – and potentially dangerous -stunts, while the plot takes a back seat to the action. It’s also interesting that so many of Tom’s stunts are filmed on accessible European streets and documented by paparazzi and passers-by. We are CONSTANTLY reminded of Tom’s audacity and physical skills. In fact, Tom’s stunts have become the most important part of his films. Who is he trying to impress? Is he validating the fact that he is a hot guy – or trying desperately to convince himself? Right now he’s careening through the streets of Rome in a car with no doors, filming Mission Impossible 7, apparently enjoying the attention.

TOM CRUISE WANTS YOU TO KNOW HE’S STILL THE MAN

Funny how whenever Tom Cruise, 54, films some sort of macho action scene or stunt he MAKES SURE the paparazzi are alerted and lined up to catch the photos. Yesterday he rehearsed and filmed a motorcycle scene riding through the streets of Paris for Mission Impossible 6 and he winked and smiled at every opportunity. He’s setting an awful example by not wearing a helmet – but that would have interfered with his carefully coiffed hair.

TOM CRUISE : DOES ANYONE CARE IF HE DID HIS OWN STUNTS?

AG079520_06cruise

Is anyone else sick to DEATH of hearing Tom Cruise brag about all the stunts HE supposedly performed in his new Mission Impossible movie? Tom seems determined to make himself look like some kind of brave HERO for all the foolhardy chances he took. Even his costars talk about Tom’s athletic feats when promoting the movie. What we’d like to know is, if these stunts were actually dangerous, why would the company insuring the expensive production ALLOW the essential leading man to actually risk life and limb? They not only FROWN on such behavior, they don’t ALLOW it. Did the church of Scientology pay for the insurance?
