DR DRE: NOT AS SMART AS WE THOUGHT

Music mogul Dr Dre (said to be worth $800 million) showed an astonishing lack of common sense when he was photographed with this dinner date at BOA Steakhouse. That’s Dre in the white sneakers behind Apryl Jones in the black bra. Not a smart move, considering Dre is in the middle of a very expensive divorce from his wife of 24 years, Nicole Young. Nicole filed in June and made some highly unflattering charges against her husband. The big issue in the divorce is division of property – Nicole accused Dre of lavishing money on mistresses and hiding assets. This photo can only inspire the already irate Nicole to “take him to the to the cleaners” – as they used to say… Bad timing.

“I KIDNAPPED KIM KARDASHIAN” IS NOW A BOOK

Now THIS is funny. One of the criminals who robbed Kim Kardashian four years ago when she was in Paris for Fashion Week, has written a book on his experience titled “I KIDNAPPED KIM KARDASHIAN.” We’ve heard Kim’s version of the event, now we can hear the robber’s story. You might remember, it was the biggest robbery of a single individual in France in 20 years. Three months later, 12 men were arrested for the crime – the five men who actually broke into the Kardashian apartment were aged from 60 to 72 and dubbed the “grandpa robbers “ in the press. One of the men tied up Kim with cables and tape and put her in the bathtub. The crooks got away with 10.8 million dollars worth of jewelry (on bicycles no less!) and it was never found. The book’s author Yunice Abbas, 67, called it “the perfect crime.” The embarrassed night watchman at the luxury building where Kim was staying is trying to seize any profits from book sales.

BROOKE BURKE: YOUR SWEATER IS NOT A MASK

What the heck is going on at Nobu in Malibu? Brooke Burke walked out after dinner there, looking like THIS. A pulled up turtleneck is no substitute for a mask (according to Dr Fauci) – we wonder if she got away with this inside. At least her boyfriend, real estate developer Scott Rigsby, has a mask in his hand. Brooke, 49, divorced David Charvet in 2018 and has been with Scott through the pandemic. She has four kids with two ex-husbands so this girl has baggage, but luckily she’s super-cute. (Did you know Brooke started out as a Frederick’s of Hollywood catalog model?) Brooke won Season 7 of Dancing with the Stars and they liked her so much that she hung around as a host on the show for years. All she needs now is a real mask…

JK SIMMONS IS FRED MERTZ?

At first glance this casting seems HIGHLY improbable. JK Simmons is a physically fit, attractive man who in no way resembles the portly character on I Love Lucy. What we remember most about Fred Mertz was that he was chubby and wore his belted pants way up high on his chest. And he was a bit grumpy. Simmons is a skilled actor (remember the Oscar for Whiplash?) but THIS is a challenge. Actually, Simmons is playing William Frawley in the Amazon film Being the Ricardos opposite Nicole Kidman as Lucille Ball and Javier Bardem as Desi Arnaz. The story takes place behind the scenes of taping one episode of I Love Lucy. But since William Frawley WAS Fred Mertz, we wonder if Simmons will pack on a few pounds for the role to make it believable…

BRITNEY SPEARS: IT’S ALL ABOUT THE BOYFRIEND

The new documentary Framing Britney Spears has opened up a whole new discussion about her conservatorship. Britneys father Jamie, while acting as her conservator, controlled every inch of her life – he managed her career, finances, personal life and purchases. At 39, she had to ask his permission to buy an expensive pair of shoes. After earning ALL that money! It all boils down to THE BOYFRIEND – Jamie is very wary of her smoothly handsome boyfriend Sam Asghari, 27. Iranian born Sam is VERY ambitious and advertises his good looks and physical talents lavishly on social media. Compare his posts with Britney’s and you see his level of sophistication. Knowing Britney’s vulnerability when it comes to men (she invited a photographer in to live with her a few years ago, and HE ran her life and was accused of giving her drugs) her father is highly suspicious of Sam’s motives. It’s clear that Jamie doesn’t want Sam running Britney’s life and Sam is not happy. Sam says about Jamie: “I have no respect for anyone trying to control our relationship and constantly throwing obstacles in our way!” Is Jamie not allowing Britney to MARRY Sam? Does he have good reasons? Remains to be seen…

NO SYMPATHY HERE FOR GORILLA GLUE GIRL

We felt sorry for the TikTok celeb Tessica Brown who sprayed her hair with Gorilla Glue when she ran out of hairspray. Her hair is hard as a rock and we can’t imagine WHAT her scalp feels like, but she’s tried everything – including a trip to the ER. The Gorilla Glue company’s suggestions (rubbing alcohol) didn’t work and the glue hasn’t budged. She set up a GoFundMe to pay her hospital bill and sympathetic people donated over $12,000. But that wasn’t enough. Tessica decided to hire a lawyer and SUE the Gorilla Glue company and blame THEM for her own stupid actions. THAT’S when we STOPPED feeling sorry for her…

M NIGHT SHYAMALAN KNOWS HOW TO SCARE HOLLYWOOD

What scares Hollywood more than anything? The reality of AGING! It happens to everyone, but sooner is definitely not better than later. M. Night Shyamalan revealed this trailer for his film Old during Super Bowl and the reaction was immediate. The video shows a family on a tropical vacation where they discover a beautiful, rather secluded beach. Later in the morning, a mother notices that her young son’s bathing suit is getting tight. And the horror begins… After a few hours everyone starts aging rapidly, ultimately reducing entire lives into one day. Shyamalan is releasing the horror movie next summer – and ONLY to theaters.

SURI CRUISE IS GROWING UP FATHERLESS

Speaking of celebrity kids growing up fast, Suri Cruise, who turns 15 in April, is almost as tall as her 5’9” mother Katie Holmes. That means she is already about two inches taller than her absent father Tom Cruise. According to observers, Tom Cruise has not been in touch with his daughter since 2013. She is Tom’s ONLY biological child and one would think it would be unbearably difficult for him to stay away from her. But His belief in Scientology must be stronger than his paternal impulses and he has not challenged his strict “religion.”

LUCY HALE: KATY KEENE IS GONE, BUT HERE COMES ETHEL!

This is by far the sweetest celebrity photo we’ve seen this week. Lucy Hale, who starred in the ill-fated series Katy Keene, was spotted leaving #wagmorepets in Studio City where she just adopted her new puppy Ethel. Ethel has a big brother named Elvis at home waiting to meet her. We were sorry to see the Katy Keene show fail. The comic book Katy Keene was one of VERY few inspiring female main characters in comic books in our childhood. Katy was an ambitious model and aspiring fashion designer living a glamorous life in New York, with lots of boyfriends. Readers were invited to send in designs of their own for Katy to wear and some appeared in the comic, with credits for the amateur designers. She was the woman we wanted to grow up to be. Come to think of it, we did.

WHAT’S NEXT FOR SHILOH-JOLIE PITT?

Okay, we happen to be fascinated by Shiloh Jolie-Pitt. Shiloh and her mother Angelina Jolie and sister Zahara ,16, went shopping together and we are surprised by two things. First, Shiloh is so TALL! Suddenly at 14, she’s taller than her mother and about a foot taller than her older sister. Shiloh has a beautiful combination of both her parents looks, and she has braces on her teeth to perfect her smile. Early on, she identified as a boy and has always worn tomboy clothes and short boyish haircuts – she became an LGBTQ icon without trying. Now she has – second surprise – longer hair swept up in a ponytail! It’s fun to watch her grow up…
