HEATH LEDGER HAD A DRUG PROBLEM

heathcut7105.jpg
Heath Ledger was found dead in his bed in New York today and everyone who knows him is thinking about drugs. Rumor has it the Brokeback Mountain star has been a slave to heroin for a few years. He played a very convincing heroin abuser in the movie Candy(above) and was linked with his beautiful costar Abbie Cornish – that’s what supposedly broke up his relationship with the mother of his child Michelle Williams. But we heard that Michelle pulled the plug on their romance, more than anything, because of his drug use. It’s a tragic story.

  1. Just my opinion – but I do not understand why management cojmpanies and studios etc.. do not impliment a strict policy for people like this guyt or Britney Spears that legally prevents them from not taking care of themselves within reason. This is just another example of prosperity gone wild and I would like to sympathize BUT these people are in a privilaged league. They have been given opportunities of a lifetime and they squander it on foolishness. I think these studios and managers should build RESPONSIBILITY into their contracts for their behavior and DUMP THEIR ASS when they go on drunk driving binges etc… Thre are too many other talented people in this worl dwho would give anything to have a shot at fame and wealth as these people and I am sick of the Amy Winehouses of the world squandering it away.

  2. CNN is reporting “drug overdose” “suicide” but nothing about a heroin addiction. They keep mentioning “over-the- counter sleeping pills. I don’t think those would kill anyone.
But the heroin, I wouldn’t be surprised. He certainly dressed and groomed like an addict. He was usually filthy. But if he had a heroin addiction, it sure was kept out of the mainstream. Guess we’ll find out after the autopsy.

  3. Oh Janet, how sad! I was in ABSOLUTE shock when I heard. Drugs destroy lives. Poor little girl will neer know her daddy. You know I know how hard it is say goodbye to a loved one because they’re a lifetime addict and you can’t get stuck in the mud with them. P.S. I got the info and I will write a letter to Lane Garrison. It’s not really funny when life imitates art.

  4. Abbie-Cornish helps destroy Ryan and Reese’s marriage and now you find out she was involved with breaking up Michelle and Heathe.I beleive in karma and someday she will be the wife with the child or children.Until then my prayers are with Michelle and Matilda.

  6. To Michelle and Matilda god speed.
How sad…he was such a talent!

  7. Abie must be a home wrecker. Heath’s candle went out too soon.

  8. I certainly hope it was not street drugs, and I hope that This Cornish chick was not doing him either! How many married men is she going to go after. I men we all make our own choices but I would not homewreck with a married person. They would have to take it elsewhere.
What a loss to the world. Love you Health, you will be missed!!! God bless you, your daugther and your soulmate Michelle Williams!!!

  9. Abbie cornish had nothing to do with Heath and Michelle breaking up. Candy was filmed IN 2005!! while Michelle was pregnant!! and she was with Heath the entire filming. If he had an affair she waited TWO YEARS to break up with him? You are an idiot!!!
Disgusting time to be starting such a vicious rumor.

  10. He gave a very telling interview it’s on Youtube and the NYT, that he had trouble sleeping. He was found with OTC sleeping pills and RX sleeping pills. Yep, if you’re not sleeping right, yep that combination can kill you. RX drugs taken with the wrong RX drugs can kill you. Very sad, he was a great actor, I enjoyed watching him.

  11. Janet you should be ashamed of yourself to post such garbage. Let the man R.I.P for a few hours before you make malicious statements about him. Toxicology tests will reveal the truth but in the mean time lets grieve for the human being who was a fine actor and a father.

  12. HE WAS A UPCOMING SUPER STAR*** I WILL MISS HIM YOU COULD TELL THOUGH HE HAD A DRUG PROBLEM THOUGH BY HIS MANNERISM & DRESS. GIVE MY DEEPEST SYMPATHY TO HIS FAMILY & FRIENDS HE WILL BE MISSED.@*(*&^

  13. Abbie has been with Ryan Phillipe since his separation from Reese. She had NOTHING to do with Heath/Michelle breaking up. You want to point a finger at someone? (Cough, Helena Christensen, cough, cough).

  14. Here’s what I think Janet; I’m glad to tell you. Yes, you’re a gossip; that’s what you do and we accept that. But what is inexcusable is that you are a vicious gossip. Even if it’s true that Abby Cornish was involved with Heath Ledger, why bring it up now. The man is dead for pete’s sake. Let him Rest In Peace and go pick on someone who’s alive and can defend himself.

  15. I think they said he had pneumonia.. a deadly strain that required hospitalization and had refused to make a doctor’s visit. Too bad.

  16. Hope Britney, Paris, Lindsay, et al must look at this tragedy and know that they are not indestructible. It is a shame that up and coming stars making big money, and have everything to live for would come to a senseless end too soon. Prayers to his family and friends.

  17. Shocking news…may he rest in peace. He was way too young to die…my condolences to his family – particularly Michelle and Matilda.
As for all the speculation…i hope the media lay off…sadly i don’t see that happening.

  18. Ted Casablanca, eonline.com, said a close friend of Heath’s said Heath was a druggie. Sad but true. Check it out.
    Total RIP.

  19. so sad! but i have to add that I saw HL not too long ago in NYC at Duane Reade mumbling to himself and purchasing an enema – for real. Drugs will make you constipated.

  20. Id like to know more about those photographs of Heath Ledger taken a few days before his death.
His face is bruised in these photographs and he fell all the way to the ground in one shot.
It’s a very scary group of photographs given the circumstances of his death.

  21. Those were photos from CANDY, the film pictured above where he plays a heroin dealer. I believe???

  22. Janet, you are a has-been and it’s time for you to hang up your pen and paper. It’s obvious to me and others that you take a story and add your own outrageous items to make it more interesting. You suck.

  24. Stacy, dahling, NO ONE uses pen & paper anymore sweetie, it’s all computer now. Please purchase a clue dear before commenting on Janet’s very successful career!

  26. where is janet speaking evil of the dead? there is no need for immature name calling. if you don’t like what she has to say, then don’t visit her site.

  27. Hey Madelyn-Are you trying to live up to your name, Mad? Leave Janet alone. If you don’t like her, STOP COMING TO HER SITE. The rest of us like her a lot.

  28. I always found Janet to be a thoughtful columnist who tripple checks her facts – so I have to disagree with you there.

  31. Wonder why he was taking drug to start with?
    Was he depressed ?
Or was it his hobby ? Cheap trips, to no where. Clearly – he had no real friends and for people to be really devastated, but yet not lift a finger to push them into a rehab it just shows you how much they care about there friends.
Clapton Antigua rehab only cost $20K, which is actually pretty cheap considering how much a person would earn in a life time.
That guy should have joined NA or AA and had a support network in place.

  32. Anyone else catch the ridiculous H. Levin and his tear-stained, puffy-faced appearances as he both shamelessly exploited and histrionically mourned the death of Heath Ledger?
    Harv: Pull yourself together, girl!
Even if he’d lived to be 100, Heath NEVER would have been interested in the likes of you.
The only prop missing from your appalling displays of emotion was a rolled-up, tear and spooge-stained copy of “Tiger Beat.”
You are single-handedly giving aging, lonely queens everywhere a bad name.
And whether they realize it yet or not, any “news” organization which turns to you for insight or intellect, immediately loses any shred of credibility it may have once had.

  33. there are a few updates to this story, I hope none of it’s true.
Over on Perez Hilton site he has as story going on about the massage therapist who found Heath Ledger unresponsive.
Supposedly the masseuse called Mary Kate Olsen first before 9-1-1.
That gives you something to think about.
    I hope this isn’t true.

  34. Tell you what I think?? I think that your roumors are hurtful, riduculous, and totally unsubstantiated, and to top it off the best “heath was on drugs ” photo you had was from a movie in 2005. Yes, he was in a movie with abbie cornish, they were never a couple.
Heath had severe insomnia, and was taking prescription medication for pnuemonia. The meds he was prescribed for his pnuemonia did not react well with the meds he was taking for his insomnia and a fatal, tragic accident occurred. You are a horrid, horrid, soulless woman, to speculate about a beautiful young man you knew NOTHING about. I shall never, NEVER read your blog again.

  35. Oh, and Katy?
    Is English your second language?
‘Cause that would go a long way toward explaining your (mis)spelling and syntax.

  36. Needn’t worry…the National Enquirer will find out what happened.

  37. Katy was a downer, glad she’s gone. Anyone with any insight could see Heath liked recreational drugs, look at interviews, candid pics, etc. from the last few years. He looks wasted.

  39. When druggies get very sick they are sicker than expected and often what would be a bad cold to us is fatal.

  40. Janet speaks the truth people!!!!
    Like it or not.
If you DO NOT like hearing the truth,a dn you want the sugar coated version, stick to E!NEWS and CNN.
    Love you Janet!

  41. It’s obvious from some of the interviews they’ve been showing over the last 2 days that Heath Ledger was on something. In one interview he looked like guys I know who are on meth — rocking back and forth.
Here’s the deal (for Katy and other non-believers): Ledger probably went from clean to sober, clean to sober. He, like many addicts, probably tried to kick his habits and was successful and not.
I agree with what Anonymous said above: a drug addict with a cold or pneumonia can die, where some of us “normal” folks might just need bed rest.
Sleeping pills are not a good sign.
How do you know he had insomnia?
Based on what’s been said about Ledger, it’s possible he needed the sleeping pills to come down from the meth or cocaine or whatever it is he was taking.
The sad thing is that Ledger was probably wrestling with addiction demons.
The sad thing, too, is that many alcoholics and drug addicts die from causes that are not “technically” drug or alcohol related. I have a friend whose drunk/alcoholic mother got up in the middle of the night to pee, fell off the toilet, hit her head, went back to bed and died of a hemorrhage. Technically, she died from hitting her head. What the autopsy report WON’T tell you is that she was wasted.
I use that as an example for Ledger.
I will be surprised if the toxicology report comes back as negative for drugs.
But that doesn’t mean that drugs indirectly killed him.

  42. So many of us, perhaps especially the young, sometimes treat our bodies as if we were invincible.
    Any kind of chemical treatment,
