WOODY ALLEN’S SON MOSES HAS HIS OWN OPINION AND MEMORIES

Woody Allen was no doubt hugely relieved when the Philip Seymour Hoffman tragedy knocked him off the front pages. But he barely had time to catch his breath and gather his thoughts. Now another adopted son, Moses, has brought the Woody molestation accusation back in the news – but he is SUPPORTING his father. Moses, 36, told People “Of course, Woody did not molest my sister. I don’t know if my sister really believes she was molested or is trying to please her mother. Mia tried to turn all her children against Woody to pay him back for falling in love with Soon-Yi.” Moses is now estranged from his mother and reconnected with his adopted father Woody. By the way, we happen to think it is very wrong to try to drag the actors who work with Woody into this mess and imply they are guilty by association.

Diane Keaton Golden Globes Woody Allen

WOODY ALLEN’S OLD GIRLFRIEND DIANE KEATON DOESN’T MIND ACCEPTING HIS GOLDEN GLOBES AWARD

Sunday’s Golden Globes show will go on without the presence of Woody Allen, who is being honored with the Cecil B DeMille lifetime achievement award. The Hollywood Foreign Press Association decided to give it to Woody even though he won’t be picking it up in person. Woody dislikes award shows (he didn’t even accept his four Oscars in person) and intended to turn down the award altogether but was persuaded that it might have a negative affect on his excellent movie “Blue Jasmine.” “Annie Hall” star Diane Keaton (above) agreed to accept for Woody and that made the HFPA happy. Woody admits he avoids reading any and all comments about his films and himself. He told the LA Times “I realized the less preoccupied you are with yourself, the better you do.”

JOHN TURTURRO AND WOODY ALLEN MAKE A WINNING PAIR

John Turturro might be the LAST person we’d picture as a gigolo but he certainly imagines HIMSELF as a plausible ladies man in “Fading Gigolo” John wrote and directed and stars in the movie. He assembled an impressive cast for his comedy. Woody Allen costars as Turturro’s cash-strapped friend who becomes his pimp. Sofia Vergara, Sharon Stone, Vanessa Paradis, and Liev Schreiber add to the fun. It debuts in September at the Toronto Film Festival. John and Woody look like they’re on the same wavelength. We’re looking forward to this one.

Blue Jasmine Cate Blanchett Movies Woody Allen

“BLUE JASMINE” IS NOT SERIOUS – IT’S ACTUALLY LOADS OF FUN

Don’t hesitate to see Woody Allen’s new movie “Blue Jasmine.” Although the story of Wall Street greed can be viewed as tragic- the characters are hilarious – and that includes Cate Blanchett. Nobody writes upper class egocentric New York characters better than Woody. He knows all their idiosyncrasies. And when they are forced to associate with “ordinary people” the results are laugh out loud hilarious. The funny thing is all the rich people in Woody’s movie have upper east side accents and the poor people have Brooklyn accents. Even though they live in San Francisco! Cate Blanchett is a fish out of water when she moves in with her less aspiring sister. Many amusing situations result, but the message that disaster CAN be survived keeps the story upbeat. And very entertaining.

WOODY ALLEN LIVENED UP “BLUE JASMINE” WITH ANDREW DICE CLAY

We never thought we’d see Andrew Dice Clay acting in a movie alongside Cate Blanchett, but Woody Allen put them together in Blue Jasmine. Cate plays a sophisticated New York woman whose Wall Street financier husband (played by Alec Baldwin) turns out to be a white collar criminal like Bernie Madoff. She has to leave everything behind and move in with her kind but cash strapped sister in San Francisco. Dice plays the rather common handyman ex husband of the sister. Clay recalled that when his manager told him Woody Allen reached out, he was in SHOCK, Clay thought “That’s the last guy I ever thought would call for me! I thought it was an April fool’s joke!” As for Woody, he was happy with the results. Maybe another comeback for the Dice Man.

ALEC BALDWIN AND HILARIA ARE EXPANDING THEIR FAMILY

And puppy makes three. “30 Rock” star Alec Baldwin and his bride Hilaria Thomas took their little dog for a walk in NYC. Alec is currently filming Woody Allen’s next untitled film in New York with Cate Blanchett and featuring Andrew Dice Clay. Woody must like Alec because he also appeared in his last movie “To Rome With Love.”

JENNIFER TILLY REVEALS WHAT IT’S LIKE TO WORK WITH WOODY ALLEN

Last night Jennifer Tilly was on Watch What Happens Live (with the fabulous Kathleen Turner) and she told host Andy Cohen a funny story about Woody Allen’s peculiar work habits. Jennifer was nominated for an Oscar for her role in Woody’s Bullets Over Broadway. She said that often when Woody hires actors for smaller roles, he changes his mind when he sees the dailies, hires someone else more suitable, and re-shoots without telling the first actor. Jennifer said it was embarrassing when the first actor would show up at the premier all dressed up with his family and when they saw the movie, he WASN’T in it – someone else was wearing his clothes and doing his lines! Jennifer said it even happened to HER once.

WOODY ALLEN HAS TO BE PROUD OF HIS SON FROM A DISTANCE

Woody Allen has to be filled with regret when he thinks about his estranged son – and only biological child- with Mia Farrow. Ronan Farrow, 23, changed his name from Satchel and chose not to associate with his father after Woody married his sister Soon-Yi. It so happens Ronan inherited brains from both parents and was a child prodigy. At the age of 11 Ronan went to Bard College and at 16 was accepted to Yale Law School. He’s a humanitarian and activist at the UN working for UNICEF. Yesterday he was honored with a Rhodes Scholarship and will continue his education at Oxford. And he’s GOOD LOOKING! Woody really missed out on this one.

Javier Bardem spent a day with his wife Penelope Cruz on the set of her currently filming Woody Allen movie, “Bop Decameron” in Rome. Javier, Penelope and Woody worked together on his movie “Vicky Cristina Barcelona” in 2008. The photographer reported Javier was by her side every minute of the day. A devoted husband. Bardem is playing a villain in the new Bond movie with Daniel Craig, so he’ll be leaving for South Africa soon.

Is Woody Allen planning to film in every European country? Now he’s in Rome filming his latest “The Bop Decameron” with an amazing cast (including Woody himself) – Jesse Eisenberg, Ellen Page, Penelope Cruz, Alec Baldwin, and many Italians including Roberto Benigni, whom we haven’t seen in awhile. The film consists of four vignettes of sophisticated wit, family dilemmas, and romance. Above, Woody took Soon-Yi and his daughters Manzie (in pink) and Bechet (in the floral skirt) shopping at Fendi.
