FORGET THE DARK KNIGHT, JAMES REMAR IS A REAL HERO

This story restores your faith in actors. A friend of ours was shopping in Pavilions in Hollywood yesterday (a hot day) and noticed “Sex &The City” and “Dexter” actor James Remar ahead of him in the checkout line buying gauze bandages, antiseptic and bottled water. (You might remember Remar as Samantha’s wealthy boyfriend on SATC.) When our source walked outside he saw James kneeling beside a homeless man, gently cleaning off a bleeding cut on his forehead. After he sterilized the cut he wrapped the man’s head in the gauze bandage, gave him water, and advised him to stay in the shade. THAT’S what we consider a true act of kindness. Our source couldn’t resist snapping a photo of the touching scene as he drove away.

“SEX & THE CITY 2” IS THE SUPERBOWL FOR WOMEN

“Sex & the City 2” might not be the perfect movie (according to mostly male critics) but it might be the perfect movie for YOU! Round up your girlfriends for dinner and this movie and you will have a BLAST! Men simply don’t know how to have fun like this. It’s great seeing our four City girls again and not terrible – but GRATIFYING – to note that THEY are getting older too! We still share the same problems and lust for fashion and desire for FUN. The movie starts with an over the top and delightful gay wedding and finales with a rollicking and impossibly lavish trip to Abu Dhabi in the United Arab Emirates. When Samantha is invited by an oil billionaire to visit his country he describes it as the “city of the future.” Maybe it LOOKS futuristic architecturally, but the religious society is dismally backward. Watch carefully- there are feminist messages galore in this film – from the gay wedding, to married life, to women’s equal rights. Keep in mind, the REAL city of Abu Dhabi is so uptight they refused to allow this movie to film there and they had to use Moroccan locations. Chances of this movie SHOWING in the Arab Emirates are slim also. We pity the women there who can’t have the fun WE can.

IS SEX & THE CITY’S SARAH JESSICA PARKER THE NEW GIMME GIMME GIRL?

Sarah Jessica Parker must have gone into SHOCK when she woke up this morning to the NY Post headline: “SJP – THE GREEDIEST WOMAN IN SHOWBIZ!” They went on to say “She wants movie millions, freebies, and more of your money!” Besides being paid fifteen million dollars for her recent SATC movie, she stuffed her closet with thousands of dollars worth of clothes, shoes, and jewelry used in the movie. (Not to mention two dozen crystal glasses worth $200 each that were used in a wedding scene.) The paper pointed out that everything used in the film was product placement – for example, Hewlett Packard provided laptops and Sarah will be doing ads for the company.) Parker has launched six fragrances – the recent one timed to the release of the new movie. Her sources of income DO seem limitless. However, we like Jessica and prefer to think of her as a “mogul” rather than a “scrooge” as the Post refers to her.

Sarah Jessica Parker and her son James is significant because she is taking him to the New York Public Library. SJP pulled her kid away from his computer and video games and she is familiarizing him a place she hopes will become a hang-out for him in the future. It’s an old fashioned notion, but one we treasure because the library was OUR second home when growing up and we never regretted a minute spent there.

There’s a very good reason why Sarah Jessica Parker is dressed SO much like Madonna in the 80’s for this flashback sequence in “Sex & the City 2.” The reason is that Madonna used to buy her gear in the very hip, rather undergound store “Patricia Fields” in the village. This shop had all the garter belts, waist cinchers, rubber jewelry, ripped tights, fingerless gloves, and petticoats you could ever want. And that same Pat Fields has always done the fabulous wardrobe for “Sex and the City.”
