We were so touched by Viola Davis’s character’s speech in “Doubt” that it forever changed the way we formed opinions. Viola’s education shows, because she can play eloquent characters and simple characters with equal ease. She’s been married to actor Julius Tennon since 2003 and they have an adorable daughter Genesis, 3 (above at the Pumpkin Patch.)

SO sad that Oscar winner Philip Seymour Hoffman died of an apparent heroin overdose. He was certainly one of the finest actors of our time. But his public persona and attitude toward the press was often negative and he seemed angry without reason. He chose his roles carefully and we will never forget his movie ”Doubt.” It should be required viewing – especially for people who think they know it all and are stubborn about their opinions. Hoffman was brilliant as a priest (above) accused of being too friendly with a young boy. Things are not always as they seem. This touching and important movie changed the way we judge things forever. For that, we have to thank Hoffman, at least in part. Sadly, Philip is survived by his three young children and a longtime companion Mimi O’Donnell.

“Doubt.” Meryl Streep and Viola Davis, above, are pictured at the New York premier. TV ads and trailers do not do this brilliant movie justice. If you think you know what this movie is about, you will be very surprised. Not only is the script subtle, intelligent, and touching, but the viewer walks away from this movie a changed person. You may judge things differently and realize there may not be an absolute right or wrong. And you won’t soon forget it.
