COURTENEY COX GETS SERIOUS – ABOUT A JOB, NOT A MAN

Nope, it’s not Courteney Cox leaving a restaurant with a new boyfriend. In fact, this is Courteney hard at work on location directing her first feature film “Just Before I Go.” It’s the story of a guy (Sean William Scott) who aims to take care of unfinished business in his hometown before he kills himself. Courteney, 49, has directed TV episodes, but this is a big break for her. She even LOOKS more like a director than an actress with her drab outfit and big glasses. The guy she’s next to is a crew member from the movie.

JEREMY RENNER IS A BIGGER CATCH THAN WE REALIZED

Jeremy Renner and Courteney Cox have something in common – they’re both successful house flippers in Los Angeles. Courteney worked her way up into the multimillion dollar range years ago thanks to “Friends.” Jeremy, who hit it big with “The Hurt Locker,” started small and has now reached Courteney’s level. He just put a refurbished house in Holmby Hills on the market for 25 million dollars, according to Curbed LA.. He’s already flipped over fifteen houses – each one bigger than the next. Courtney Cox has become the biggest house-flipper in Hollywood. HGTV would give her a show in a minute. She comes from a family of contractors so that gave Courtney leverage when she started buying and fixing up smaller homes early in her career. Now she’s in the top league – she purchases significant architectural homes – many of them mid-century- and updates them without spoiling their original beauty and purpose. Back in 2006, she and David Arquette paid 5.5 million for this exquisite 1959 A Quincy Jones design in Trousdale Estates. It has 3 bedrooms, 5 bathrooms, in 5000 sq ft with a round pool. We’d like to know what she did to it because she put it on the market for 20 million, and just sold it.

Much has been made of David Arquette finding a new love and now his estranged wife Courteney Cox has started dating a new man. She’s keeping him totally under wraps for the time being, according to an acquaintance – maybe that’s why we haven’t seen her around lately. She’s been quietly seeing a “mystery man” described as “a jock – an athletic type” for the past few months. Diplomatic Courteney has no plans to reveal her new guy until she feels quite secure in the relationship.

We have to give Courteney Cox credit for handling her break-up with David Arquette with such sensitivity. She and David separated last year but she has yet to file for divorce. When they first split, David was despondent – he went kind of nuts partying and had an affair. Courteney talked him into checking into rehab and he completed treatment. After David left rehab he got a grip on himself and Courteney made sure he had access to their daughter Coco. She let him down gently. As Courteney hoped, time passed and David eventually found a girl he cares about (He’s seeing E.T. reporter Christina McLarty) and accepted the idea of divorce. Now they can have a civilized divorce with minimal hurt feelings – thanks to Courteney’s patience.

Now that he’s reasonably single, David Arquette can wear whatever he wants to BOA in West Hollywood – in this case he wore a workman’s jacket with the name “Ed” sewn on the pocket, a scarf covered with cartoon dogs, and trousers held up with a rope. He’s happy because he spent Easter with his daughter and his estranged wife Courteney Cox. We get the feeling that Courteney wants to end the marriage, but she just can’t bring herself to break the news to David, who is still hopeful.

David Arquette is making a grand last attempt to save his marriage to Courteney Cox by checking into rehab. As we told you, Courteney has been alarmed by David’s alcohol consumption and late partying since they split up and she tried to talk him into rehab. She pointed out that if nothing else, he owed it to his daughter. After one last boozy night out at the Roosevelt Hotel on New Year’s Eve, David went straight to rehab, saying he “owed it to his family.”

We TOLD you that Courteney Cox was angling to get her estranged husband David Arquette into rehab for the holidays. And we weren’t exaggerating. Since they announced their split, he’s been partying like a madman. (Above, he’s dancing on a table in Miami) Now he‘s admitted to Howard Stern that he’s on the verge of a nervous breakdown and he’s been drinking A LOT because he’s heartbroken about the separation. He says “Everybody’s worried about me,” and apparently his weekly visits to a psychiatrist aren’t helping. It sounds like Courteney will get her wish very soon.

With so many celebrities spending the holidays in rehab we figure the temptation to overindulge must be rampant at this time of the year. Courteney Cox is not thrilled by the fact that her estranged husband David Arquette has been partying like a frat boy since they split, and she would love HIM to check into rehab. David loves the night life and Courtney would rather relax at home after a long day at work – certainly this contributed to their split. Whether they get back together or not, Courteney would like to see her child’s father calm down and drink less.
