Heidi Klum flew to Paris to soak up some culture with her art dealer boyfriend Vito Schnabel. Vito introduced her to his friend, American pop artist Alex Katz’s impressive collection of work from 1969 to 2014 at a gallery exhibition. Heidi’s infatuation with Vito was enough to get her to Paris, but not yet enough to introduce him to her children.

DEBBIE HARRY MAY PART WITH HER BELOVED WARHOL PORTRAIT – FOR THE RIGHT PRICE

timthumbharrycut

Warhol collectors get ready. Debbie Harry, 68, is planning to sell the portrait Andy did of her in 1980. She was one of his favorite subjects and the art looks great in her living room. But Debbie has been complaining about how expensive it is to insure the artwork. She noted that another Debbie Harry picture sold for nearly 6 million back in 2011. So now the Heart of Glass singer is thinking of selling and using the money for her retirement fund.

ROBERT DENIRO’S TRIBUTE TO HIS GAY FATHER

article-2544188-1AE#deniro

Robert De Niro has really come a long way – earlier in his career he was impossibly “private” and avoided calling attention to himself. He was known for barely speaking in interviews. In the last few years he’s become much more accessible and social. Now he’s produced a very personal documentary about his father, who was a respected artist. De Niro’s father left his mother when Bob was 3 – many years later he learned that his father left because he was gay. Father and son remained close until his father died in 1993. De Niro narrates the film which presents his father’s work as well as his struggle with the realization he was gay in an unforgiving era. The movie, “Remembering The Artist Robert De Niro Sr,” is scheduled to air on HBO this summer.

ISABELLA CRUISE: STUDYING ART, AND HAPPY AT LAST

article-2529605-1A4#isab1

article-2529605-1A4#isab2

It’s nice to know that Tom Cruise’s daughter Isabella is making a life for herself. For awhile she was adrift, dabbling in art, but with a Scientology education she wasn’t prepared for any kind of traditional work. She was living downtown in Los Angeles with her boyfriend but now she has moved to England where she’s studying art and apparently thriving. Like many English girls she gets a kick out of changing her hair color frequently – hers has been green, platinum and orange this year. Her brother Connor, a successful DJ, is loving and supportive of his sister- her tweeted his affection for her on her 21st birthday which they celebrated at Disney World, The top photo is Connor and Isabella, and the bottom is Isabella with a buzz cut on a roller coaster.

RUSSIA HAS NO COMPLAINTS ABOUT SYLVESTER STALLONE’S PAINTINGS

Photo: Al Diaz/Miami Herald

It’s amazing, but a prestigious Russian museum is featuring a collection of Sylvester Stallone’s paintings “From 1975 Until Today” —and it’s not a joke! At the height of his movie success, Stallone gleefully discovered that he could splatter paint on a canvas, sign it, and it would SELL for thousands of dollars! He set up an art studio in Santa Monica and whenever he had spare time would slap together some paintings. He sold dozens of his creations in Beverly Hills at a gallery back in the day, and again at a gallery in Miami in 2009. Now his “art” (36 pieces) is on display in Russia, and they seem to take him seriously….

ARTIST BANKSY POKES FUN AT MCDONALDS

The NYPD was rumored to be hunting guerilla artist Banksy, but in fact, no property owners have filed complaints, so the elusive artist is continuing his month of surprising New Yorkers with new creations every day. This fiberglass replica of Ronald McDonald has appeared at a different McDonalds restaurant at lunchtime each day this week. It features a live boy cleaning the clown’s shoes. Banksy fans race to find the new art every day and protect it from vandals with spray cans.

BANKSY STRIKES AGAIN …AND AGAIN

Banksy is surprising New York City with a new piece of outdoor art every day in the month of October. His month long “show” is called “Better Out Than In” and we have reason to believe that his next guerilla project will be in Los Angeles. Can hardly wait!
The photo on top is the art Banksy left in Queens last night and the one underneath is a slaughterhouse delivery truck that appeared in the meatpacking district on October 11. Some of his art is three dimensional.

BANKSY IS SHARING HIS ART WITH EVERYONE IN NEW YORK CITY

Our favorite guerilla artist Banksy has arrived in New York City and launched the start of a large street show. He seems to be doing one painting a day and New Yorkers are taking delight in finding them. His first one of two mischievous boys on a wall in Chinatown was already painted over! The second was the ACCENT wall and the latest is the dog peeing on a fire hydrant. There is a phone number stenciled next to each painting and callers can hear all about the piece. Banksy did this in LA in 2011, and it culminated with a huge party. Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie have spent millions on Banksy’s art and even commissioned a mural.

RICHARD GRIECO SHOWS HIS “EMOTIONALISM” FOR JANET CHARLTON

Gallerie Sparta on the Sunset Strip was the place to be Thursday night. It was opening night for Richard Grieco’s collection of “abstract emotionalism” paintings and he drew quite an eclectic crowd. Johnny Mathis left before we got there and that was a HUGE disappointment. Mickey Rooney, of all people, was in a wheelchair but looked quite happy to be out and about. Mickey Rourke was expected but we never saw him – too bad. Presumably Richard (“If Looks Could Kill”) had consumed some cocktails or had sold a few expensive paintings before we chatted with him – hence the robust hugs. We asked if he was single and he said he had never been married but had dated among others, Madonna and Sharon Stone awhile back (who KNEW?) Right now he has a girlfriend but we never saw her.

RICHARD GRIECO PUT DOWN HIS GUN, AND PICKED UP A PAINTBRUSH

Richard Grieco’s publicist describes him as “a cultural icon” for his appearance on the 80’s TV series 21 Jump Street. We’re not so sure about that, but it is kind of interesting that the actor, 48, (didn’t he replace Johnny Depp on the series?) is also an artist, and has been since 1991. He has a one man show opening in August at the Gallerie Sparta on Sunset, featuring his paintings that he describes as “abstract emotionalism.”
