ANGELYNE ACCESSORIZES HER MASK AND GLOVES

Angelyne and a companion stopped at a supermarket in Calabasas today and she wore hot pink plastic gloves and a scarf around her neck ready for masking her face. Her friend is obviously either a rabid fan (he’s wearing an Angelyne t-shirt) or an employee, because they both drove hot pink Corvettes to the store. Angelyne must be SO pumped because a dramatic miniseries is in the process of being made about her life, starring Emmy Rossum.

ANGELYNE HAS NOTHING TO COMPLAIN ABOUT

We imagined that billboard icon Angelyne was furious when she first learned that Gary Baum had written an expose about her life for The Hollywood Reporter a few years ago. Baum spent months researching the article and revealed that Angelyne was born Renee Goldberg in Poland, to concentration camp survivors. The much talked about article spilled all of Angelyne’s secrets, but eventually she realized that it had made her even MORE famous for being famous! Now she’s executive producing the Angelyne series for Universal so maybe she won’t have to sell t-shirts and merchandise out of her Corvette trunk at Pavilions parking lot any longer. From the looks of this photo of Emmy Rossum, who’s playing Angelyne, the series looks like fun – they even got the pantyhose right!

ANGELYNE DOESN’T DRESS FOR THE WEATHER

Somebody ought to buy billboard queen Angelyne a pink umbrella. She walked out of a restaurant in LA today with El Nino in full swing and she had to hold a plastic bag over her head to keep her hair dry as she dashed to her pink Corvette. She seems to be even LESS prepared for rain than most people in LA. We can’t help but wonder if she has ever worked a day in her life…

SEEING ANGELYNE IS LIKE SEEING A UNICORN

Just about everyone who lives in Los Angeles for any length of time eventually plays the game of “Guess who I saw today?” As often as not, the celebrity seen is billboard queen Angelyne. She’s not only easy to see in her hot pink Corvette and platinum hair, but she seems to do a lot of driving around. Calabasas has been talked about so much lately that apparently Angelyne decided to check it out and turned up at the Coffee Bean there. As usual, she was more than willing to sell souvenir t-shirts and photos out of the trunk of her car. A fan of hers told Angelyne that “seeing Angelyne is like seeing a unicorn” and we like that comparison.

ANGELYNE WILL APPEAR IN TOM CRUISE’S MOVIE “ROCK OF AGES”

Angelyne is still most famous for her pin-up billboards in Hollywood and her pink Corvette. Above, she stopped at Ralph’s Market to pick up a bag of cashews to snack on. Angelyne’s classic billboard will appear in Tom Cruise’s “Rock of Ages” movie about an 80’s rockstar – due to be released in June.

ANGELYNE IS ALWAYS READY TO MAKE A SALE

In Los Angeles it’s considered something of an accomplishment to say “Guess who I saw today – Angelyne!” Spotting the iconic Angelyne in her pink Corvette is almost like an LA pastime. Here she is again – not ready for her close-up, but a good sport anyway. As usual she opened her car trunk in a parking lot and sold t-shirts and books to passers-by.
