MOHAMED HADID’S NEIGHBORS ARE RUNNING FOR COVER

Models Gigi Hadid and her sister Bella have to be a little embarrassed by their father Mohamed Hadid, whose company declared bankruptcy this week to avoid the huge expense of tearing down this unfinished illegal mega-mansion Hadid constructed (and hoped to sell for 100 million) in Bel Air. Neighbors filed a lawsuit claiming it was unstable and illegally built (which it is) – they fear the house will slide down the hill on them. It adds up to corruption all around – Hadid should not have gotten permits. Rain is falling and neighbors are more worried than ever…

RODEO DRIVE SHOPPERS HAD PLENTY TO LOOK AT TODAY

Guess who took over Rodeo Drive on Black Friday! Jennifer Lopez and Alex Rodriguez brought their kids to Beverly Hills for a shopping spree at Gucci (where Jennifer found a pink cashmere sweater on sale) and several other shops. Nice to see that their daughters get along so well – so far a successfully blended family…

THE WORLD ACCORDING TO JEFF GOLDBLUM

Jeff Goldblum is enthusiastically promoting his new Disney/National Geographic docuseries The World According to Jeff Goldblum in New York. It sounds like a fun show – Jeff investigates ordinary things and topics that happen to interest him – such as tattoos, jeans, whatever, – leaving us with an expanded point of view. We are amused by Goldblum’s Apartments.com commercials and like his penchant for vintage apparel and vintage slang, so we suspect this show will be right up our alley.

HALLE BERRY DOESN’T PULL THE PUNCHES

Oscar winner Halle Berry is the latest actress to hop into the director’s chair, and she means business! Besides directing, Halle is also starring in the film, Bruised, so she has to direct herself. It’s the story of a Mixed Martial Arts expert who falls from grace and struggles to regain her sports reputation and become a decent mother. Halle’s workouts and fight scenes have been SO rigorous that she got smacked in the face and has a black eye already.

SIMON DOONAN’S WINDOWS MADE A DIFFERENCE

Our longtime and adorable friend Simon Doonan has been the creative director at Barneys in New York for ages and he designed their most eccentric and famous window displays. (We are still IN SHOCK at the news of Barneys closing. Boo hoo – is there life after Barneys?) Before that, young Simon did whimsical windows at Maxfield in LA, and to celebrate their 50th anniversary, Maxfield published a small book of Simon’s windows from 1978-1985 for a hefty $50. (Simon is a very entertaining writer and has written several other fanciful books – this gossip columnist is a chapter his book Wacky Chicks) Maxfield had a festive book party to celebrate and Simon had a long line of admirers. We reminisced about gossip items he used to sell me for Star magazine…

KRISTEN STEWART IS PUTTING CHARLIE’S ANGELS BEHIND HER

Just like the rest of us, Kristen Stewart is at the supermarket (in this case, Gelson’s in Hollywood) stocking up before the holiday. She bought firewood so maybe a romantic fire is in the mix. Her blonde companion is a new one, so we’re not sure WHO Kristen is spending Thanksgiving with. She’s had more girlfriends this year than we can count! Charlie’s Angels is Kristen’s first big flop movie so she might need some cheering up…

DAKOTA JOHNSON’S LITTLE SISTER HAS HER EYE ON HOLLYWOOD

Antonio Banderas was honored at the Vanity Fair Awards in Madrid, and his daughter Stella del Carmen Banderas, 23, (with ex Melanie Griffith) was there to cheer him on. Cute Stella is the younger half-sister of Dakota Johnson – she was born in Spain and speaks Spanish, and aspires to an acting career like Dakota. She’s got a good start – Stella is dating Eli Meyer, the son on Ron Meyer, who happens to be Vice Chairman of NBC Universal.

SHANIA TWAIN: WORST DRESSED AT AMA’S

Hands down, the worst dressed at the American Music Awards: Shania Twain. Head to toe disaster. Keep in mind, Shania IS the top selling female country artist OF ALL TIME and a true beauty – she deserves so much better! Her last appearance on the show was sixteen years ago and Shania admits she doesn’t care much about fashion – and, of course, she IS Canadian…

GRETA GERWIG’S “LITTLE WOMEN” IS A FILM YOU HAVEN’T SEEN BEFORE

We always loved Greta Gerwig as an actress- now we love her as a director too! Greta took Louisa May Alcott’s book Little Women and, along with Sarah Polley, dared to write the next chapter in the lives of the beloved March sisters, and it WORKS! A peek into the lives of four American sisters who lived during and after the civil war is fascinating and the best kind of history lesson. Despite the insurmountable challenges for women, who were LESS than second class citizens in those days, the story is fun, and the sisters are as lovable and relatable as ever. Whatever made Charlie’s Angels director Elizabeth Banks think women would want to see ANOTHER version of that objectifying TV series – especially written by MEN?
